The art and music in this game are absolutely immaculate. The only problems I have with it is that the main part of the game that's supposed to represent the storm was quite easy and calm since you could take it at your own pace, it took me actively trying to actually end up losing.
Other than that it's a great game that mixes the style of darkest dungeon with the gameplay of 60 seconds. Good job!
I don't understand how this hasn't blown up yet. It's super polished and could practically be released as a complete short game. It adds this interesting concept of "wasting moves", because the weather takes effect every second move, that I haven't really seen before in this type of game.
The only problem that I had with it is that on the level after you get the axe it would get stuck and I would get infinite steps with no weather, other than that it's a great game. Good job!
I have also considered some game ideas about making the calm and the storm represent the mental state of a person throughout their life. This is an interesting game, the only thing I would add would be some choice making and generally other things to do besides just picking the actions each day.
Good job and keep up the good work!
Your game look amazing, I'll make sure to rate it and comment when I finish.
Here's mine Silent Shores, anybody that leaves a comment I'll check your games out too!
I really liked the stickman physics you have going. This game feels like a combination of a couple different old flash games that I can't remember the names of right now but loved them as a kid.
Some parts of the platforming were slightly more challenging than I would prefer for a ragdoll physics game, but other than that great game.
This is a hidden gem in this jam! The movement is incredibly flued and it reminded me a of Celeste a lot. I can't really describe what playing this game feels like so I would encourage everyone reading this to at least try it out, it will definitely be worth your time.
The only problem I encountered would be accidentally walking back into the last section and dying which would send me to that previous section's start, but that's a pretty easy fix and didn't hurt my experience at all.
Amazing game and I would 100% play the full version of this.
I ended up playing this for an hour straight, it's pretty addictive. Making such a fully fledged and polished game in such a short time period is amazing. The little changes from you ordinary tower defense did make the storm slightly more chaotic, for example not being able to change targeting.
It definitely does take some time to figure out what works and what doesn't, I had to try 4-5 times before being able to get past wave 4, but then later on I felt invincible, so it seems that the balancing might need a little work. Otherwise a great game, good job!
P.S. The interest system is also something I haven't seen so far in this genre and it made me reconsider my decisions in the calm phase.
The art style together with the music made for quite a calm and pleasant experience, to be honest after about 10 days I ran out of things to do and just started drawing and writing things using the buildings 😁
I feel like it would make for an even better game if you decided to add some gameplay during the "storm" part.
I had a lot of fun playing this game and with a couple tweaks (maybe some more obstacles that would allow strategic turret placement and a couple turret types) and some more time put into it I could totally see it becoming a fully fledged short game.
The only criticism I have for you is that the ammo box and reloading turrets refused to work sometimes.
I'm a sucker for top down shooters so this was definitely up my alley. The cloud mechanic felt unique and encouraged the player to move without the use of a million enemy bullets on screen.
The only thing I would like to see different would be the player's bullets doing a bit more damage and maybe going a little further. Had fun playing your game!
