Really cool stuff man. Cool to see how you pulled this off.

Voidskipper got my 5 in overall. It was pretty much a coin toss between your good self and Nate The Bard, in the end I gave my overall all 5 based on how I scored gameplay as I felt that was what was most important to me when deciding of all the categories.

Gameplay: I gave it to Nate the Bard for Voidskipper just cause I love Hades and I love Souls games more than rpgs.

Music: I genuinely couldn’t seperate CruelDown and Teebeeyae in music department thus I gave two fives.

Story: Probably an offbeat one but my 5 star went to Heros Come and Go. This was the surprise package of the jam for me and I really enjoyed it.

Graphics: My 5 went to again Heroes Come and Go. I just liked the style, loved the battle graphics.

Comedy: My 5 went to Metal Gear, this one again was a coin flip between two clear leaders (MG and IN).

In pretty much every category bar gameplay I felt like I could have hand 5’s to multiple contestents. Graphics in particular was a doozy. Anyone of HC&G, Teebeeyae, Voidskipper could have won for me.

This was quite a good one.

Gameplay: Well it was all combat so one game where I don’t have to seperate them nice. At first playing Harold and them Marsha, I didn’t quite get it cause it felt like you could win spamming the biggest moves every time they were available. Then I play Therese and the joys of the system really opened up for me. It became a lot more tactical and thoughtful and I need to manage my cooldowns better. If you ever push on with the system, thats the level of difficulty to go for. Its a fun system and trying to keep cooldowns on the foes was really the part that shone for me. Good job.

Music: This will be hard beat in this category, the soundtrack is fantastic. Bopping my head and singing away will all the melodies. You have a great knack of people listening intuitively knowing where the melodies are gonna go. So you can sing them first time before you hear them. Its a great compositional skill and I loved it.

Story: One of my faves, having to score it on 40 minutes so 4 runs felt like I didn’t quite get the best of it and how it all came together similar to a few entries. I’m still unsure if the for example Marsha I played is the same Marsha I fought as Harold, I feel like they’re both Magical Girl Marsha but both different timelines. Still great job.

Graphics: Its a game jam and something had to be sacrificed and I guess this was the sacrifice. Still the rtp looks nice, the maps weren’t quite of your usual standard but it was serviceable.

Comedy: I chuckled a couple of times, especially at Lucius, he was def this games comic relief.

Overall: A really good effort, with cool narrative fun combat. Everything one could ask for from a jam game.

For me this might win 4 of the categories by the end.

Music: Every track is well chosen and consistent, works well keeps the energy flowing.

Graphics: Probably the most consistent graphically in the jam, will be really close to winning again great job.

Story: So this part was just serviceable but the good side of serviceable, thats fine though cause a deep story would have kept me from the gameplay.

Gameplay: This is wonderful, super smooth and feels really nice. 5 stars. That said I have a couple of tiny pointers (one controller support), two I feel the roll is a little too far so when I dodge I’m dodgin miles away. I’d also like to be able to dodge through enemies as it would go a long way to sorting my one minor issues. Getting stuck on corners. The pixel movement was great but I felt like I was catching the edge of tiles on things like bushes etc.. which probably have square tile collision, also I wish there was some kind of star tiles so trees etc.. weren’t blocking movement and I could pass under the higher parts. All in all though a phenomenal job.

Overall: For me strongest game I’ve played. Great job, I’d actually buy this.

Story: I quite liked the story and it was solid for a game jam. Good job.

Graphics: Very nice and I scored highly, probably would be my graphical winner or at least close but the change between pixel art on maps and the battle style. Still great job for a gamejam.

Music: Thank you for now blowing my ears out with rm default volumes, it was nice to play a game where master level was 100% and my brain wasn’t being blow out of my head. Good job.

Comedy: It was fine, acceptable.

Gameplay: I found this a slog to be honest. Not bad just slow, battle were ralatively slow for me, as was map movement speed and having to click multiple times to get a save. Also a high random encounter rate on such small maps.

In combat I feel the player was lacking a lot of agency. Removing 1/4 of the early party from my control, than the required sacrificing of turns on Therese meant there was turns where I only had 2 useable characters. Combine this with Marsha being essentially a use single fire, single thunder or AoE fire and the first few battles were a real slog with only Lucius having any real gameplay. This did get considerably better when I got Harold in the party and a few more skils and the end battles despite the high hp were a saving grace.

All in all, its a jam and you did a great job in the time given. This one with better pacing, less randoms would have been a potential winner for me.

Good attempt over all. First off high marks for the models and for the world textures. I scored this high in graphics.

Story was a little not there but thats how From Soft do it right, all the lore is in the items.

Gameplay was janky but somewhat fun. The lock on system really stuggled with angle and some of the animations had janky/jerky movement (like the roll). Other than that default move speed was too slow and dash ate too much stamina. That said combat itself was grand and I enjoyed it. Just needs a little polish.

Music: Not alot of it but it was fine. Comedy: Simiilar to music

All in, I’d say its a solid entry and a good start to a potential game. As a fellow UE user, good stuff.

Nice I’d love to come back to it. Getting anything submitted for a jam is hard work so congrats.

Gameplay: It was fine, but very rpg maker doing things rpg maker shouldn’t do for me. In any other engine you probably could have done this better. Similar to Humans entry a couple of years ago. Plenty of levels though.

Story: Like most entires this year small but cute and the heroic return was on point.

Graphics: Not a huge amount to say, its rtp used pretty well.

Music: Fine but similar to a lot of games so hard to vote up or down.

Comedy: Some mild humour in a wholesome story.

Story: I like the mgs style, the writing is funny and I genuinely laughed out loud on stream a few times. It’s like classic Brew but more wholesome. All in well put together.

Music:Edit: Had the wrong notes on the music here for some reason. Copy and paste gone wrong and it implied rtp style soundtrack. What I actually had written about the music is: Nice tracks and quite fun, no rtp and nothing overused, is an added bonus. Was going to give this a solid good but that use of song whilst climbing the ladder all for a gag 10/10 so I bumped you up a point.

Gameplay: Moment to moment gameplay was fine, nice puzzles and solid all round.

Combat: I struggled a lot with combat most because I had no warning when the enemy attack input was going to start. I think a little ding to warn the player, enemies about to attack would have went a long way. I did tap out saved at the final boss but will finish it.

Graphics: Score highly here because to pull off all your own graphics in such a short time frame and an entire short game is super impressive and it looks very KS. Map stuff is solid, battlers are fantastic.

Comedy: Will be hard to beat in this category, had me laughing almost all the time. Genuinely a laugh a minute.

Overall: A solid entry and another I enjoyed. Little tidy up on combat telegraphing and you’re golden.

Story: Only got to the end of the woods after nearly an hour. Will play to the end but as we’re judging on 40 minutes, I’ll say it had an intresting set up. Alex character in particular I enjoyed. The narrative set up was decent.

Combat: was fun at first and well put together but through a combination of hitting those 3 switches and most mobs being the same 2 or 3 enemies I eventually just started fleeing everything. Some unique skills.

Gameplay: I enjoyed driving the car and janky movement it came with, I also enjoyed combat till I didn’t as said above. The exploration parts were find. Can’t help but feel I missed out of the best of the gameplay because the forest took so long.

Music: Some decent songs, very Lumi, some of it I found overly distorted and like grating. All in all a good choice that suits the game.

Graphics: This was the highest scoring graphic game so far for me. Great job is such a short time.

Comedy: I think some people will find this really funny but it just wasn’t my thing. Not bad but not for me.

Overall: One of the strongest entries and I think when all is said and done will feature quite near the top. A combination of irritation, fun and all round weirdness.

Shadow of the Erdtree step aside, this is the hardest game ever made.

The one thing I learned is, I’m an idiot. I think a fresher me who wasn’t exhausted and capable of reading, would have enjoyed this a lot more or given it the respect it deserves. As usual from Ronald a unique idea well implemented. Had to go back and read the story and quite enjoyed it.

This one felt charming but rushed. I will say the minigames didn’t really appeal to me and it just felt like they were extending a walking simulator.

Props for the tiles and sprites, very nice albeit some of the maps were a little big and empty. The bit of story that was there was nice and casual.

I would say coulda been solid if finished but just needed more time in the oven.

The intro threw me for a loop and was well done.

Gameplay: This game is the most “generic” rpg maker game of the games I’ve played so far and its also the one I enjoyed the most. Could do with some balance in terms of economy, xp, mobs stats etc.. but was fun.

Music: It was fine but default.

Story: Generic again but fun, I liked playing the bad guys. Interesting, have a feeling there’ll be a twist at the end.

Combat: Basic but relatively fun, probably needs a balance pass but decent.

Comedy: Some kinda wholesome humor where I kinda smiled as opposed to laughing out loud.

Overall: Just an rpg maker game doing rpg maker things, gloriously average yet all the better for it in terms of the jam.

Even a low effort Gensun game goes the extra mile. Some really classy touches in whats a huge mess. You can clearly see this is the work of a good developer trying to make a bad game.

Not a lot else to say, other than I couldn’t find the bus cause I’m an idiot.

Return of the King!

Thank you sir, hopefully I can find time to do battles, towns etc.. as well.

Great work for a month.  Nice inclusive story with progressive themes, fun battle system.  Graphics are nice and music is all bangers as always.

Thanks a mill for the feedback, really appreciate it, I've already changed the font for the next update.

Yeah I think the bass is way too low in the regular battle theme and kills the excitement, I'll remix that for sure asap.   I'll play around with some filters and maybe less compression on the instruments.

Good idea on the snowball minigame, I'll look into it, think I can just throw my current function in a loop and it should fire continuously.

I love to receive feedback like this as it gives me lots of stuff to work on.  Really appreciate it and thanks for playing.

That looks so good, can't wait.

I'll look into making a less performance intense mode, thanks for giving it a blast dude.

Thank you sir, appreciate the kind words.

Hi thanks for playing and sticking it out, looks like lots of people are getting loading problems on boot (slow loading) I'll add it to my list of bugs and make it a priority to get it fixed.

Ah poop, sorry about that.  It was Enigma Virtual Box which I used to protect assets, I made a quick fix and removed it, should work now if you wanna try again.

My pleasure dude, fun game.

Quality game, nice fun chill gameplay, gorgeous sprite work and

This one scores highly, music is excellent, great SNES vibe.  The mode 7 style angle is really cool and works here imho.

Lining the cutscenes up to the music must have been painstaking, bonus points for that even though I read pretty fast and spent a lot of time waiting.

That was a fun time, got stuck in the dessert world for a bit, big game for a jam, great work.

You did a good job and kept the combat interesting for such a basic system, challenging at times too.

Text moved a little slow but a neat little game all in all, nice puzzles, poor ricky's head.

Fun little story with some humor, mechanically very much a standard rm game and very wordy for a jam game but fun nonetheless.

Enjoyed it, the switch to rtp was fun.  Looked great, good game.

Was interested to see where this goes.  Had a lot of potential.  I like the humor in what I read, couple of typos and grammar bits aside.

Solid entry Nate.  Enjoyed it, found the world map a little tricky to navigate but really enjoyed the combat.  Good stuff.

Fun little game, quite enjoyed the combat, funky hitboxes aside, decent fun.

This is a lot of polish for a jam game.

Is it weird all I could think as I was sinking to the bottom of the water was "Oh hey, free sword".

I ran into myself at the start of the first playable map.

This gets my graphics vote and is right up there for excellence (gameplay) and literature.

Really was a jump scare but the screenshots are a little spoiler.  At least it was only from the chest up!

An rpg maker inspired fps is a great idea, Just wish I could kill Harold and move on to Reid.

Laughed at the intros blatant requirement checking off.  I ain't a cheater like BG so never got to the end.
