Thanks for the helpful advice, I'm really glad you liked the game! For whatever reason I didn't even think to replace the tunnels with a faded image or dotted line when they disappear, definitely going to make a note of that for the future. Thanks again for suggesting that, one of the best tips I've gotten so far!

Thank you! Yeah, I guess I might've made it a bit on the easy side. Wasn't too confident about the project going in, so I figured if I couldn't make it good I could at least make it short

Thanks! Fun fact, the particle effects I did for this were a last minute addition, had three extra hours left after finishing the levels so I wanted to do something to make the game look just a touch nicer

I think it would've been nice if you could see just a bit of the area around the the player outside of that thin line, but overall this game was really nice! One of the more well-rounded ones I've played

My first game jam too, I made a game where the player can only move on a 1 dimensional number line

Wanted to play more of other people's games but unfortunately after the weekend I didn't have a lot of free time

Dang, that was really good! I've played a handful of puzzle games for this but I think yours might be my favorite when it comes to actually solving the puzzle. My favorite part was when the gimmick first kicks in and you realize what the game is all about, really nailed that "ahhh" moment.

The idea behind this this is really neat (having to quickly switch between being able to move and jump), but for me at least it's killed by the jump and switch keys being on opposite sides of the keyboard and how easy it is to get sent back to the previous level. I think if the switch key was space instead and it was easier to tell which parts of the level are dangerous (and potentially have them send you back to the start of that level rather than the one before), it could be really solid!

also first time seeing a game in godot, been meaning to check that engine out

whew, got through most the posted here (gonna try and play the ones I downloaded later today). Lot's of good stuff all around!

Oh dang, thanks! I'm really glad you liked it, I didn't have quite as much time to work on the levels and think through the design so I wasn't too sure how well that turned out. And yeah, I kinda wish I had more time to get the game out there and play other people's games too (honestly I was woefully unprepared to join a game jam)

Very interesting! The last few levels get a bit messy, but overall this game was really solid

This game was pretty neat, I liked the artstyle you guys went with for this! I agree that the second level should've come first though, even though the first level is better the second one works more as an introduction (being shorter and easier by comparison)

This was a really cool concept! I love stuff like this where you have to fiddle with numbers in order to accomplish a goal, feels really clever solving those kinds of puzzles. Got stuck on Myadas though, not sure if that's meant to be the end but once it runs out of health I get a message saying it was KO'ed and then reappears with no health still.

Ah man, I can relate to you running out of time with this. There was a bunch more I wanted to do with my 1D game (I actually had a similar idea of making it where the player can stop and rotate the line they're locked to), but I ended up not having being able to get any of it done in the time we had. Hopefully your game gets further along than mine did!

dang, that was really clever how you used the mechanics of chess to make a puzzle game! It's really simple, but I liked the progression of ideas and constraints in it

For my project I ended up making a 1D game based on the idea of a number line, where all the action takes place on a single axis (here's a link if you want to try it: https://quid314.itch.io/number-line-runner) Part of the idea came from seeing animations of multiplication and division being represented by a number line stretching and compressing, but I mostly figured no one else would think to limit their game like that.

Course I was wrong and there were definitely people who did that, so if anyone sees this and made or played other one dimensional games, let me know, I'd love to see how other people got around that limitation. I'd also just like to hear about unique or limiting "only one" games in general, so feel free to share those too if you don't know any that went with one dimensions specifically.

I saw that too and thought we'd be able to add new builds if we wanted, but then when I went to check it new uploads were disabled

This was my first game jam too, I just saw the announcement, realized I was free this weekend and attempted to make something for it. The best part was probably coming up with ideas for it, but when it came to cramming trying to implement those ideas that's where I kinda faltered.

Here's the game I made btw. Wish I was able to get it to run in-browser but I ran out of time: https://quid314.itch.io/number-line-runner
