Check out Just Get Better!, which is a newer version of Blood & Grit and has community copies available. You won't get all the bells and whistles of B&G, but it has everything you need to play (except dice).

A great looking collection!

What an amazing collection. I love that you can get it all as one purchase.

Great concept, an excellent layout, and I'm excited to play it.

I kept getting caught. I don't really get what I'm supposed to do.

This was a lot of fun. I hope you'll expand on it with a story.

Amazing game! Loved it.

Thank you, this is excellent feedback and will help me improve the game. I appreciate it!

Finger cramps. Cool art. Moody atmosphere. This game has a lot of potential. I'd love to see at least a few of the upgraded guys in the front, otherwise you're hiding your art.

Pretty cool concept.
Finger cramps and diabolical rituals for the win.

With some polish, this will be a fun game, keep at it! Add some story to draw the player into the game, because it's an experience.

Dark Souls meets drunken Lego building on a tilting ship. Frustratingly loveable.

You are a mad genius.

Things we loved:

  1. The theme is excellent. I want to play more games where familiars are the stars. You made that happen.
  2. It's very pretty. Great choice of tiles and character sprites, they fit together perfectly.
  3. The music was fun and whimsical.

Consider improving these:

  1. The text box background makes reading tough.
  2. Remove "even" in your intro dialogue. And "Something like" and "pretty" in "pretty weak" in the Familiar's manual.
  3. We eventually got stuck next to the large crystal on level 1, after fighting the slime that was on it. Maybe a logic bug?

Thanks buddy!

Thank you so much! I'm working on a solo system. Leeeet's QUEST!!!
So, did you feel it would be more playable with a few extra stats like Dex and Charisma? Did you have particular ones in mind?

Thank you!

Thank you so much. Ha, three 11s. That sounds like a double Nelson to me.
Focus should read:
Focus: Spend a Grit point to add a +10 to a roll.

Thanks for spotting that! The editorial goblin will be pushed down a manticore pit, right away!

Sharpen your blade and prepare for adventure!

Pathfinder 2E fans! How About a Cup?

Also out now is The Magic of Tea for Pathfinder Second Edition. Tea-inspired spells, monsters, backgrounds, and plot hooks await inside.

See you in the dungeon.

Rising Phoenix Games

If you love a hot cup as much as we do, then you'll love these new spells, backgrounds, creatures, and plot hooks. They're all inspired by tea!

The Magic of Tea is compatible with the Pathfinder Second Edition Remaster.

Now, time to put the kettle on!

Wow, thank you so much. Will implement those ideas for sure.

Maybe my gamepad was having issues, but it got frustrating when nothing happened. I managed to place a couch in the middle of the room.
Feeling old and senile!

I'm confused. I don't think it's displaying properly.
Make sure your game runs, and be descriptive on your game's page. All of those things are important. I hope you'll improve on those things so we can properly experience your work after the jam.

Brutal!
It looks like you're deleting sprites while they're still on screen, rather than after they go off screen.
And when you start a new game it doesn't reset the sprites, which might be a good idea.
Otherwise, I loved the music and SFX, and the sprites. This game has a lot of Gameboy soul. Well done!

Could not run it.
A browser version is a great way to get eyes on your game. I recommend it.

Maybe label the parts if you have them selected?

It says "Failed to load mono" when you run the game file. Hopefully you can get a fix up after the jam.

Thanks homie! Hopefully we'll get back to it and push even harder. Thanks so much for checking it out!

Hey, thanks so much for the feedback! Will keep that all in mind for v2.

That means a lot, thank you for the feedback!

I couldn't run it, because UnityPlayer.dll was missing.
I suggest you create a new project, then link to that one from your jam submission. Make sure the game is working! Then we can at least check it out.
Also, add some screen shots and text to your game's page, so we have a better idea about your game.
Keep pushing!

Love the idea. Keep polishing the gameplay, because this could really be a banger.

Fun and intuitive, challenging and tactical. Loved the graphics. A solid game!
Especially loved that you build things in craters, which we have in our game too. That drop animation was a nice touch.

I found the ship-building part tricky, but maybe because it's been a while since I played my GB. But I love the concept and that it all works. This is the kind of game I'd spend hours obsessing over. Well done!

It seems like there's a sprite issue. The bullets don't hit their targets, and I keep dying without seeing any bullets to dodge.
Otherwise, this is full of Gameboy soul, and it feels like the enemies are encroaching on your space, so 5 stars for the theme too.

I loved it. My only criticism is that it felt like your ship should keep moving. Maybe that was an expectation because of the shape of the ship.
The art is amazing!

It was a fun jam. Well done everyone! If you crossed the finish line or didn't, you made a thing. It might still need more making, but it's something!

Amazing little game!
