Thanks, I enjoyed playing! Interesting idea and execution. I often died at some random moments when I accidentally jerked the mouse, so I couldn't get too far, but I like the gameplay at the core of the game. Definitely like it!

An analogous Snake! What a cool idea! Using Snake as our base popped up in our discussions, but I haven't ever thought about it in an analog form, interesting thinking!

If I could give a suggestion it would be to maybe have the projectiles be able to hit your spirits konga and lose them perhaps? Also, I feel like the hitbox for the collectibles blue flames could be bigger. I found myself missing and going back to them pretty often (and no I promise I am not bad at video games!).

Thanks for that little pause between choosing an upgrade and continuing playing, I am sure it would have been very annoying if that wasn't there hahaha. Thanks for working on this!

This is so addictive! This twist on snake with that "follow the mouse" control is genius! I couldn't stop playing, great work! :)

A nice take on the classic snake game. I really liked the aesthetics, the music, and the body, though as a matter of taste i wish the body parts would be more "connected". I like it being gridless, though it does mean that I died a number of times due to issues with mouse sensitivity or turn speed. This was especially a problem when i picked out an upgrade. While the pause between picking an upgrade and returning to gameplay is super critical, I still found my head instantly doing a 180 and running into myself sometimes! But otherwise a fun game!

Love the simplicity and rogue-lite elements. The gameplay of gluttony with rogue-lite is really great. Only that I feel like my mouse is too sensitive so it's very easy to run into crawlers. But overall the art and concept are great! awesome job!

Developer

Thank you for playing! Your comment makes me think about mouse sensitivity, it's something that I never took into account in my design but it could be a parameter to master on my side to offer a more fair and identic experience for all users (since i built the game with my mouse sensivity and all)

This is a really really good game! it's so polished and the extra events keep it engaging. great work!

Really cutesy art style! And a super cozy game. The game could benefit from a tutorial, or explanation of what is going on. Once I got my head around how to play, the gameloop is great! Great work.

Very satisfyingly visually and gameplay! Did take a bit to figure out how controls worked, but after it is quite enjoyable

This is one of the most appealing designs to me both visually and gameplay wise out of a lot of the games I've played in this jam, I enjoyed having to physically increase the speed of my hand as I increased speed in game and it was really nice to look at. My only issue was the arrow obstacles having the same light color as the player but otherwise everything was really well done

Nice game, it's not a very original concept, but the artstyle makes it stand out "from the crowd" and I really like it. The music fits well enough, but I think it's a bit too sleepy for a game like this. Overall it was fun to play, but I feel like it's too easy to die, there were times when I was heading straight, turned slightly and I lost, although visually it wasn't visible that I had collided with the rest of the "snake". But it's a small detail, it didn't spoil the nice experience too much, the game is really enjoyable. Good job! ♥

Very cool themed snake. I generally really like eldritch/lovecraft coded art/themes. Even on web browser game runs really smoothly. The only problem I encountered is that dying was a bit too easy so maybe decreasing size of collider of body parts could help. Overall enjoyable game. Good work.

Developer

Thank you for playing! I already used some tricks to make it more fair tbh, but i think the  next step is to only follow the mouse within a certain radius, i guess.

Cool concept! I think the controls could be better if you used the arrow keys or WASD to control the body. I lost a lot of times because the mouse didn't have enough space. Otherwise, the game overall is really good.

Developer(+1)

That's an interesting feedback! In my view, pointing at something induces a different feeling from moving with WASD , keys are more for controlling than giving a global direction to the creature (if it makes any sens!) . Of course, no choice is perfect (and to be honest, I used 2-3 invisible tricks to make it more fair) but I'm glad you were able to have a great time ! 😁

I kept getting caught. I don't really get what I'm supposed to do.

Developer(+1)

It's based on Snake, so basically you have to move without getting the head touching anything : your own body, the limit of the map etc. while trying to eat "souls" that are in the game represented by little blue and white flames.  Souls makes you level up, which make the character grows by one body part but also apply a more or less important bonus multiplier to the the score (depending of the chosen body part).

The goal of the game is to go through the 20 levels by avoiding all the dangers that may come and get the best score possible!

got incredible lag when i leveled up and died cause of it.

Developer

Hey! The little delay after selecting an upgrade is totally intended. If it was not there, the snake would automatically follow the mouse and therefore, making you lose even more often, trust me! 😁

Fun idea! I always was greedy and went with the speed++ and score++ when I could. Wish there was some kind of warning for the sudden speedup though, died a couple times to that because i wasn't expecting it...

Cool twist on snake! Loved all the agility parts. But sometimes small movement of mouse resulted in instant death :(

Got to level 13 or something! Enjoyed the game nevertheless, kudos!

very nice and simple mouse controlled top down runaway from black stuff game!
