I liked this a lot, lots of great polish and a solid core loop It took me a minute to understand what was going on so I think some better telegraphing of incoming storms or the floods actually happening would be beneficial but that’s the only criticism I have - interface is fantastic, love me a good management game and the isometric art style gave me ‘Into the Breach’ meets cozy town builder. Loved it!
Absolutely a top contender for the #1 position - this was so cute and polished! Simple concept executed extremely well I literally only have one critique and that’s that the cat cards don’t scroll automatically to show empty carts (even though it says how many cats are left in the UI, it took me a minute to realise I hadn’t finished the seconds stage because of this) But genuinely, really really nice work - would love to see this fully fleshed out and released! Strong ‘Hidden Folks’ energy :D
This was really cool, loved the idea and the creative direction and felt super cozy while playing through The only thing that made it less enjoyable for me was what seemed like collision issues with the logs - I’d often have built a nice little shelter and just as I went to put the roof on it would hit some invisible collider, start spinning and knock my hut down :’) Regardless, I played through the whole thing and had a great time, really good job!
This was fun! Definitely high replayability value with me wanting to beat how far I got previously, character controller feels nice and snappy which is perfect for this style of platformer Didn’t much like the camera - paired with the level layouts it was rather tricky for me to see where I needed to go next, especially as the moving platforms don’t pause at their stopping points at all and tend to be quite fast moving. Overall, really solid job! I played a lot of runs and had good fun
Nice too see a callback to classic Sonic games though personally I found the level design really difficult to get along with having the player be how it is Controller itself felt juicy and quite nice (with the small exception of being slightly floaty when moving slowly) but the spaces in the world were way too small to be able to move through in a fun way
This is really cool, I’d almost say it’s a hidden gem if it weren’t for two things:
- Days are two short
- Ants have no pathfinding and kept getting stuck on things
Otherwise this was very fun and my kind of game, love the premise of preparing food for storage and managing a collection of NPC agents whilst having to do some things yourself. Addition of fuel for the mech is genius too, leads to some interesting decisions - really good stuff!
Really nice concept and premise - the game was a little difficult to stick with because of some balancing (I often found I was running out of villagers because I couldn’t draw the cards/packs to get enough food/population or wood to get more buildings) Art is really cute and the premise is really my type of thing, would definitely be on my playlist!
Hey there! Thank you so much for checking the demo out :D and thank you for the feedback, it really really does mean a lot! I’m really glad the atmosphere and graphics really landed well for you - I’m happy to say the glitchy tile bug has since been fixed for the full version and will make its way into a demo update soon, that’s very interesting with the game slowing down after 4000 points though, I’ll be looking into that very quickly, I imagine this will be related to the third issue you listed as well so definitely one I’ll want to get fixed
Great job on such a high score too!
Really nice game here, love the papers please vibes and am a big fan of that format. Art and sound are incredible, really feels well polished. I only have two cons for it and that’s the dice sometimes make it impossible for you to get a perfect score because it never rolls the language that you need. Secondly, having it just be that the sounds match the language felt too easy, especially in absence of a timer or anything. Asides from that, I really loved this entry, very nice indeed!
This is a brilliant comment because it entirely captures what we were going for in the games design! Originally, we had planned for a five day, story based experience closer to the Papers Please format with scripted characters, performance reviews and different endings (“badges”) depending on your play style in the game - time didn’t allow for this unfortunately so we scaled down to a challenge style minigame in the last few hours before submission but these moral puzzles and weird subjective judgements are the core that would have made that kind of loop super interesting :D I could definitely say that a good inspiration on this for me personally was the netflix show “The Good Place” if you’ve ever seen that - really appreciate the high praise and feedback, thanks!
Love the concept here - big fan of city-builders and RM games so I’m looking forward to seeing where this goes! Could definitely do with some more balancing and was possibly a little ambitious but that’s no discredit to you - heaps of potential here and I really wanna play more as it develops! Awesome start
