Just walking into zombies and having them explode was oddly satisfying. The music in the test room was also really good.

I love the music! It is nice when people say whether they made the music or not because I am always curious lol Huge kudos to you. It is not an easy thing to do and yours sounds great! So... the zombies can't inflict damage on you right? I wasn't missing something? lol You're not the only one doing a "golden rule of X" interpretation of the theme. But I don't get it. I don't understand that translation of the theme. (not just you, everyone who did. ) So to me, this isn't really a good fit with the theme. I like how the zombies come at you, you did a good job of programming the ai! I'd be interested in checking this out if you develop it more. It was interesting!
I think I will take this into a proper prototype because I had fun with it :).
The main mechanic was going to be if you sneak around the zombies they would stay somewhat dormant but the more you attack them the more aggressive they become, so I was enticing players to kill them because they are zombies but that would be a detriment as they progress (do unto others etc)
Unfortunately I have not finished that programming as you would of seen haha, but on the side I splashed in the survival golden rules but it wasn’t supposed to be the main focus.
You are correct, they cannot hurt you yet, you can only die if you jump off the edge haha.
And as for the music, I feel my greatest skill is in music / sound then programming, and no art skill haha.
Thank you for the comment and for playing :)
The game looks and sounds incredible! Great color palette, animation, and visual effects. Sound effects and music are real nice! And I like how everything looks tiny!
Would've loved to see it more "gamified" if you had more time. But this is a good visual and sound foundation for a game!
Shooting feels good! I also like the color pallete, it is so warm and juicy :) thank you!
Nice work on this! Cool music and good overall top-down fighting gameplay mechanics. The aiming was a bit wonky (on both gamepad and with keyboard and mouse) but I bet if you had more time you could have improved that part. Well done for 2 days, looking forward to you finishing it up in the future!
Really well done. I liked the look and feel of it a lot, especially the music.
The little details you added like the way the camera zooms out a bit when you reload, the way the ammo counter bar springs back to full and the bullet catridges appearing on the ground added a lot of polish.
Firing using the mouse button felt weird since the aiming was not mouse based (which took me a little to work out, haha).
Cool stuff - I like the auto aim in absence of being able to aim with the mouse and it definitely feels very juicy - nice!
Nice job on the ambience and style! I had a hard time aiming without the mouse but I got used to it! Fun little game, nice job
I really wanted to fine tune the aiming but ran out of time, it auto aims if you are close enough but I wanted to push the player to not shoot and leave them alone to scavenge. I was working on a system so they would be more dormant the less you engaged and if you “treated them bad” they would “treat you bad” haha. Thank you for checking it out
