Congratulations to the winners!
I couldn't play them all yet, (except Praxis, which I really liked) but they sound great.

yeah V5 is new to me so to not make mistakes I don't use the canon lore. Instead kept it at the basics. But I also don't have to proof my canon lore knowledge in this game jam, so no need to put it in. Maybe your right that I just don't see the canon issue here. Well I still think your wrong with point 1 and 2, but it is all said to this. So have a nice day.
This was great. I only can agree with the others, that this felt like a whole finished game. It was fun, looked well and had interesting events. The only thing that a bit annoyed me was the fast happening events. Every time I wanted to place a coterie member some event interfered. Also I could use disciplines me or my coterie members didn't have. Specificaly Dominate and Protean. Also my ghoul was able to make another ghoul. Sometimes the decisions are only able to use by the character and sometimes it seems it takes the disciplines of the whole coterie in account. I don't know was a bit strange.
As you asked what could this 3D novel make it the best as it can be:
The same things that make great 2D visual novels or novels in general: excellent writing or/and an exciting story. That is in my opionen the most important thing. Visuals are the second. If it looks nice and supports the story with their asthetics it is perfect. This demo of yours has till now few of both. Also if you do use 3D, it woud be nice to use the full potential of it. Free movement and/or fitting animations. Maybe like a exploration game. Moving around a room, get hints, talk there with people. I think you can learn from detective games like the sherlock holmes games or other adventure games.
If you don't use 3D movement or 3D anmation then you don't need 3D to tell a story.
I am sorry that you had problems while developing. I think the ground idea of a fever dream journey or something is not bad, unfortunately this is as you mentioned not finished and therefore I can't say anything positive about it at this state, but don't be sad. Keep working on something you like as long as you have fun with it.
People experience emotions differently what doesn't mean that they all have a mental health condition. The negativ points on your comments should tell you that there are more people who think like JoDi as are who think like you. So maybe you should overthink your behavior.
Your original post was mean and aggressive right from the start, without even trying to say something nice about the game or giving constructive criticism and your comments are the same.
That you didn't realize the protagonist is in captive doesn't mean the story is all bad. And I also don't know what this has to do with being canon or being not canon. It's just a little mystery at the beginning. Some people find that entertaining. If you dont like that, its your problem, not the developers. Sure the game and writing has it flaws. But you could said it nicer, it is just a short and free game jam game.
No surprise that someone said to chill.
I liked your game. The red line story didn't really fit with the green line then, after killing the mortals, but it was still interesting enough to keep reading.
Some parts were a bit rushed and I would have liked it when the past stories were written in another color or italic or something to make it clearer. But nevertheless it was an entertaining novel.
Wow. I am a 3D Designer myself and I can tell how much work that was to build all this. There are here and there some issues, but for a months work, maybe in part time, great work.
- was glithcing through parents home so the view didn't change from third to first person and everything in the house appeared to big and I glitched a lot in there. After speaking with parents it returned to first person view.
- the camera movement is too fast
- the character too slow
- the camera is also a bit too wobbly inside rooms while walking in first person view.
Aside from that I liked that. City looks good. Not up to date graphic but well done for a jam. Interesting story and I also like the jumping and that the story is about a mortal who stays mortal ^^
I agree with TechnoGoth. I like the look, the pictrures and the writing so far, but I dont know what to do. A main goal shown would be good. I just stumble around and explore, what is great but suddenly die and don't come really forward. Also it would be nice if I could see while placing the points in character creation where I placed them. I know it is shown after, but would be nice if the points appear behind the skill that was choosen. Also I met people in places where they were treated like I already know them, but I never met them before. Was a bit strange. But the whole idea and presentation and exploration has potential, that I liked.
I am sorry to hear that. Maybe your antivirus tool is sensible about unknown sources, but I had it played by multiple people till now and no one said anything about viruses, also there for sure are none. Made it with game maker studio 2 and my PC is clean as far as I can tell.
Edit: I googled and it seems a problem with game maker studio games that can sometimes occur. https://help.yoyogames.com/hc/en-us/articles/360031016592-What-to-do-if-your-game-is-false-positive-detected-as-a-virus
Yes I did that. I built three parks with three nightclubs and then three factories. Were that too few parks? The suspicion was constantly rising and I didn't know how to stop that. The gift from sire event I got but after the money was spend I had to click the dollar sign again and that takes a long time to get multiple hundred dollars again. Would have been good if buildings would generate money. But maybe I didn't get to that point. Anyway, maybe I will try it out again later, but I need to play the other games before that. Thanks for reply.
I see we had the same idea about a management game. I like your take on. A Multiplayer game is a really cool idea. I like it a lot! But I found a bug or maybe I didnt realized what happend. When player 1 had an failure with the tremere; player two got hungry from that and frenzied and the same thing happened again later the other way around. And the turns didn't move on. Nevertheless it was no gamebreaker and a great game so far!
