This is the real part 9, Araki told me

And yeah, the player model doesn't have hitboxes on the legs, the hitboxes only trigger if you do a directional pose in the same direction as a shot bullet. Retrospectively it might have been a missed opportunity to not reference Dio's throwing knives or have have a slow/stop time stand feature, lol. I'm glad you enjoyed!!

Dio with a gun!!

I'm so glad you mentioned Flash games because that was definitely what I was trying to channel. You're on the right track with the patterns:  he can shoot in a circular pattern, a cross pattern, and a random pattern. All those patterns start at different offsets to give more variety. I agree with your feedback, I think either telegraphing his patterns or giving the player more time to react would be good improvements. Thanks for the kind words!

This was legit so stellar, I have no idea how you managed to spawn bullet patterns that echoed the music transitions so well. I could play this all day. Oustanding job!!

Very cool idea to blend a visual novel with bullet hells. Really silly game, thoroughly enjoyed it <3

Really love the space setting for this one! Unfortunately I had a tough time playing it, I'm not sure if it was the depth perception or the controls but I felt like my bullets weren't connecting with the enemies despite my crosshair being directly on them. I think having some sort of visual response when the bullets connect would've been helpful. I enjoyed the visuals, nice work

Going to echo that I had a tough time keeping track of the blue bullets against the dark background, and I believe the hitbox was a bit too small, the bullets were a bit too easy to dodge given how muych bigger the actual sprite was. I liked the bullet patterns!

Thank you so much!!

Thank you so much!

I agree, I did want to add some form of signal to the gun's position, whether through animation or maybe a UI crosshair, unfortunately the unity project was getting very volatile and I decided to build it as-is for the deadline. Thanks for the feedback!

The mechanic is really interesting, it lead me to adopt the strategy to leave the less powerful enemies as recharge fountains while taking on more powerful enemies. Echoing that I wish the radius was longer, or maybe it could be interesting to have it recharge faster the closer you get to an enemy... Great work!

Really fun mechanics to reclaim your bullets. This gets hectic very fast! The movement and the bullets feel great. Nice job

Really intriguing idea to make a tower defense bullet hell, very polished graphics and audio too! I wish there was more emphasis on the tower defense end, the buying system wasn't too inutitive regarding tower costs and where towers could be placed. But very nice entry, plenty of potential here. Lots of fun!

Thank you, I'm so glad you enjoyed it :)

Thank you!

Thank you so much!!

Thank you so much!! Such a big compliment for me. I was really unsure the impact it would have after working on it for the week straight but I'm so glad that it resonated with you. I appreciate it a lot <3

The sleep effect is a drunk post process shader, if you look on youtube you can find the shader I used :)

The pacing was hard to get right and it's definitely something I wish I could change, but I'm glad you enjoyed nonetheless!

Thank you :)

Love the point and click controls with the fixed cameras! Echoing that I wished the game was longer, but I get that it would've required a lot more time on the environments. Great demo!

This was adorable, such a fun concept! Definitely gets me excited for Halloween in April :) A lot of potential in this entry, I wish that all of the monsters on the ride were able to be shot and not just the pumpkins but given the amount of animations that would've been it's understandable why the enemies were limited lol. I also wish the carnival music would've been louder and persisted through the whole ride! Leaning into the obnoxious, campier, spooky-horror rather than scary-horror would work very well in this case. Great work!

SO MUCH FUN, this is a blast to play multiplayer and the game being so simple really works in its favor. If you refine the mechanics this could be a really fun mobile game... Well done!

I loved the detail of the text waving for the poetry and shaking for the ghosts. Good work!

Thank you for the response! The post processing effect for the static was actually completely accidental while working with the shader for the sleep effect. The pacing was also tough to manage, but I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it in practice :)

Many thanks :)

Thank you, glad to hear you enjoyed it!

Phenomenal work, everything from the pixel art to the sound design to the character and story writing is absolutely outstanding. The flavor dialogue really made me love the characters and I'm obsessed with the main duo's dynamic (was that an AI Somnium Files nod?). I can't believe this was done in Ren'py! This was a really cozy read and such a pleasure to play, great work!!

thank you!

This was such a treat, using an anti-piracy screen as a puzzle/mechanic is genius and the atmosphere genuinely creeped me out. Well done!

Much appreciated :)

I am Very Bad at bullet hells but this was so much fun! Love the player sprite

Unfortunately the run mechanic didn't work consistently for me so I couldn't manage to juke out that first enemy - but love the premise and the environments you created!

Thank you!

Amazing voice acting! Would love to see an expanded version of this.

Lovely atmosphere! I loved the modelling work on the monster. I wish the player could've had a bit more visibility, especially at the end because I felt like I was lapping circles in the basement trying to find the fourth altar with the monster right on my heels, but very polished nonetheless :)

You're absolutely killing it with these, outstanding job!!

the visuals!! my god, it's so good. for being made in 48 hours the polish is insane *__*

ooh! will check that out, thank you for the suggestion!

I played this game almost a year ago and now that I have an itch account I want to leave my thanks—this story has left such a profound impact on me and articulated a lot of the anxiety I've felt with the passage of time and changing relationships. Very powerful work <3

saw this initially in the blood sweat and tears bundle and it stuck out in my brain with its bold visual style. the sound design is fantastic, the narrative is thought-provoking, and these dithered graphics I am still obsessing over. this was so lovely, I'll be binging the rest of your catalogue when I get the chance <3
