Yippee !!! Always happy to be part of such a cool project !

darn, yeah that'll be it ! my internet does really suck

What a charming game ! I couldn't get too far cause the rating period's about to end and i'm late, but the little idle animations, the art style, the music, ah, so nice ! It'd be nice if there were checkpoints though.

I really like the concept of building more turrets like a bridge to attack the enemy bases, but it did feel a bit too challenging and time consuming. I didn't get very far. I like the simple design of the game, though the HUD does feel a bit meh, it works. Refined I'd really like to play it again !

Now that was a great balance of fun while still keeping the player on their toes ! I liked the rotating mechanic and the shop was a great addition. Like someone else said it would've benefited from some sound, but considering the jam's timing I can definitely excuse that.

Love the style of cover art btw, reminds me of old arcade shooters !

I'm not sure why, but the game just would not start for me and remained a gray screen... Unfortunate cause it looked really cool ! I'm not sure that the issue is, seems to be just me.

I like the idea of the mechanic to mark enemies and use them as an attack range, that feels pretty unique ! Though I felt like it wasn't exactly working as intended ? Sometimes it wouldn't go off, and even when my health dropped to 0 I didn't lose. Bit confused by that. Otherwise pretty fun !

Very fun ! Didn't make it very far, though I wanted to keep playing, for some reason the game kept freezing ? Also if the sprites were supposed to do damage to anything, it didn't really happen for me ? I'm kinda confused what happened. But otherwise I REALLY like the concept ! I hope I can play it a bit more in the future !

That was fun ! And astoundingly pretty ! I thought the idea was super interesting and polished nicely, especially with the randomness of it, it didn't feel unfair, but it wasn't easy either.
I miscounted the sheep a couple times, as it turns out having my attention on the two things going on at once was tricky, but I liked that ! I didn't have to turn the light back on once though, so i don't know what that does.
I'm also easily frightened, so that kinda made the adrenaline pump, with the creepy noises, color choices and sense of impending doom ! Good job !

That was the most fun entry I've played thus far ! The sprites and sounds combined with the silly concept were hilarious, and I while not very hard I had a lot of fun figuring out the path to take ! And the music was quite nice ! ( that level with only old men was very funny )

There was definitely some hard parts and a lot of time strain, but ultimately I'm happy I managed to come out with something that at least looks coherent ! When I have the time I'll definitely do some more small-scale game dev ( though hopefully a bit longer than this ) !

Thanks for the comment and encouragement, it means a lot !!  :']

Thanks, that's sweet ! It's definitely meant to be a bit more than it is right now. Something about piecing yourself together to move forward in life ^^

Thank you so much for the detailed critique ! It really helps !!

Yes I agree it's definitely more an early prototype than an actual game, I just didn't have the time for more with my rhythm and outside circumstances. The jagged movement is indeed from the camera moving per pixel, I don't know how to fix that yet, I might leave it tbh.
For the sound, I first envisioned it having some kinda chiming noises you could hear in the direction of the invisible targets. The music would probably be something very ambient. Though I was too busy learning programming to even touch the sound section, I'd like to come back to that later. The targets were also gonna move around.

The soul was meant to look a bit like a will o' wisp ( and a dew drop when idle ). I don't have much experience in pixel art so I'm still happy with how the sprites look for a first try !

It wasn't very refined but there was gonna have some semblance of story, or at least progression. I really wanted to add some cutscenes in the style of OneShot or Omori, since illustration ( and concept art ) is kind of more what I'm good at, but I didn't have time ofc. The figure was going to have elements added/revealed to the design as you collected lights. And the levels were gonna have different traversal elements as you progress ( like going into roots that act as funnels, jumping into a trail of footsteps.. ), the lights were gonna be able to be located through different means than just ripples ( like grass rustling in a grass field level, light trails.. ).
Yeah I could really only do the bare minimum here but I still learned a ton !

I'm glad you liked the concept !! I was pretty concerned that it wasn't enough for the jam, but nonetheless I was still proud to have put it out without any major bugs or anything. It's barebones, yeah, but I made it, I took the plunge. I'm proud of that.

Like I said, I'm definitely going to keep working on this when I have the time, to hopefully bring it closer to the vision ! It's not going to be anything grand, but I hope it'll be more than this little prototype ! Thanks again for the critique, I REALLY appreciate it !!! ^^

Thank you for the comment ! ^^
That's a cool way to look at it !!

Thank you !
Not a soul ? In the idle it was supposed to look kinda like a dew drop but I guess I can see with the monochromatic color scheme how it can look like something else. I'm not very experienced in pixel art ^^;

Thank you so much for the kind words !! <3

If not for the jam's limitation I might've gone with another idea that did have a timer in it ! But I didn't, and I haven't dabbled in drawing text on screen in GMS2 yet, so for now I don't know how ! I was planning on adding some kinda progression in the future though, different level aesthetics and stuff, different ways to get to the targets and different ways to tell where they are... I hope I can get to that ! For now I'm just very tired so I'll take a rest ( I slept all day today even, hence the late reply ).

Again thank you for the comment, it means a lot to me !! TTvTT
