thank you for playing and enjoying the game ^^
Sorry for the slow reply I’m currently in vacation.
The bull noise is made by the same person that made the other noise sfx ahaha.
Thank you for playing ! Glad you enjoyed it.
In the original concept draft I did have some sort of currency shop in mind but I scraped it in early dev phase since there wasn’t a feasible time to implement it in 3 days.
There actually IS a boss at round 15 ! If you ever play my entry again in the future in your free time , hope you find the boss enjoyable.
Thanks for all the feedback,
I’m actually planning to do a "casual patch" to flesh out round 4 to 9 since some people have pointed out that although the difficulty is great, the rounds can be a bit too long in the later stages if RNG doesn’t hand them one or two extra buffs.
Thank you for the feedback !
Yeah I might tweak the game a bit especially the beginning part, otherwise I like the progression. I do agree about the enemy types tho, I simply didn’t have the time to really come up with original archetypes and implementing them in gameplay (balancing, all the boring stuff).
Again thanks for the feedback.
Thank you for playing and enjoying the game !
If you’re curious ,
the only animated parts of the background are the planets, gas giants or black holes, you can import a gif into aseprite and export a sprite sheet from the. All other elements are simply scrolling and ressetting position once at midpoint and making sure everything is seemless , the background stars actually randomizes once they reset. The asteroids are just rotating and falling slowly ^^"
Thank you again for the nice comment !
Thank you for playing !
Yeah making art isn't really my cup of tea and from experience I lose alot of time making them that I'd rather focus on the game itself and flesh out all the bugs and playtesting it properly (I'm really more of a coder then a designer or artist really).
The boss came into the design in later stages of the draft, the concept was that the player would fill the emptyness the more they progressed with a 3 round formula. The boss fight Idea was just too cool to pass up so I had to design and implement it on the last sprint
This concept is SO GOOD, like absolutely yes this is the type of things I could work on for weeks with just how cool it sounds. It obviously lacks content due to the time restraint and I admit I got lost at what to do somewhere in the game.
But this concept is executed well AND it sells itself.
Great work. Thumbnail is hilarious
Thank you for playing and enjoying the game !
I think you might be the first one in the Jam comment's to actually beat the boss so far, congrats !
After this GameJam I'm looking at a rework of the Final Boss at some point so look forward to that ^^
If you have any additional feedback I'll be glad to hear.
It was fun, I find the tiny art great and the concept is also pretty good and engaging. LOVE that you let us hold down a key to move in a direction, I've seen too many button smasher type games. I would have liked the delay between moves to be reduced a bit because once I got used to the game it was a bit of a drag sometimes. The tiles are also sometimes too much its a bit hard to see the point of interest sometimes.
Overall tho, fun and great game.
Good work.
The creative integrity to the design values is just great , the sound design to the background noise. And the game was fun and in times that I actually tried to remove the emails the gameplay really did reflect the atmosphere of working in a boring job at a desk doing 9 to 5. And it was funny. Might be my first 10/10 game in the submissions due to it just being fleshed out for what it is.
Amazing work
Finally got around to playing your game, played it through the download , really fun concept , and GREAT execution with the 3d models , I will always admire 3d work in a endeavor like this. There's a couple bugs but due to time constraint they can totally be forgiven. Your game is fun. I would have like it if you could run through cracked tiles but barely get out.
Great work.
I like the visuals very attention grabbing for me. REALLY nice use of signs and feedback love it, the sound design and the characters zooms in and out and the music simply SELLS this rock paper scissors game. This may not be the most "Impressive" game content wise in the jam but it is easily one of the entries I had the most fun with.
Short rememberable fun.
Great work.
Again thank you for your kind words,
Loved that you enjoyed the game.
I will probably do these types of jams again but I definitely need more experience in a tense environment like Jams first. This is my third GameJam and all of them have been equally hard, the first Jam I did I still haven't touched unity yet. I'm simply more used to a more lax schedule. I will keep doing Jams in the future don't worry, it's simply that 3 hour ones might be too soon for me atm. ^^
First off, I will always admire someone trying to make a 3d game in this context because it is a grueling process to nail right from experience. For criticism , there sometimes bugs but with the timeframe you had to work it, most can be overlooked tbh.
Overall , good job.
Here are some feedback that I can give about the game note that this is me nitpicking and is being really judgmental, your overall grade was pretty good.
- When the player hits 0 hp you can destroy it or set velocity to 0, since in some runs I had the character continue off screen with some velocity.
- Give some short of attack speed to the enemies, in the current state you lose health too quickly.
- The jump feels a bit too floaty I suggest upping the gravity on your rigidbody, and compensate the add force up in correlation , test it and get a good feel for it.
- I think the player should respawn at ground level because I would tend to jump off platforms sometimes.
- WASD is the usual term in your controls , this is really minor but people will call it out when they see it.
Again, good work.
Thanks alot for the kind words ! But no I definitely failed that 3 hours challenge by quite a long shot ^^" I simply don't like leaving projects unfinished. I'm actually quite afraid of how a web version would perform but I think i'll actually take up on your idea.
Awesome game btw, liked it, I still need to play more of it I couldn't get that far into it because of schedule.
