Use of the limitation
It follows the limitation of Make it a Roguelike by having text and images randomly chosen from a database. I know it doesn't strictly follow the rules of having it procedurally generated but every run is a bit different.

This was a pretty interesting concept!
I loved the introduction sequence (that was pretty creative).

I would've loved if there were important e-mails that also appear, as to add a bit of challenge to the deletion process.

Nonetheless though, a cool and simple game!

I was two emails away from winning! Damn you, Dick Butt. Clearly my co-workers love KnowYourMeme. I thought this was interesting though. The clicking back and forth gets repetitive, but I definitely felt like a corporate drone. I really like that the player had to power up the machine to start the game. Keep it up!

Funny games are funny, but they should have a solid game loop to back them up. Check out my review of your game at https://www.twitch.tv/scalphamission

Nice game! The concept is great, the sound design is really good just over the top memes! Turning on the Computer was really confusing at first and having a more clearer indication would have been nice.

Overall a really good, but frustrating game!

Thanks for sharing :)

Yeah I kind of messed up on the start screen. Poor game design by me but thanks for playing!

The creative integrity to the design values is just great , the sound design to the background noise. And the game was fun and in times that I actually tried to remove the emails the gameplay really did reflect the atmosphere of working in a boring job at a desk doing 9 to 5.  And it was funny. Might be my first 10/10 game in the submissions due to it just being fleshed out for what it is.

Amazing work

Thanks I really appreciate the kind words!

Oh man those memes!!! They just kept popping up in my way of reading the e-mails! And then I realized I'm supposed to be deleting them haha. It's a unique take on the theme and limitations!

Really creative use of the limitation! It's also a very original concept for a game, (although guilty of generic dungeon roguelike here, you are exposing me dude xD).

LOL no hate on the generic dungeon roguelike!

Enjoyed the game, it was fun reading all of the randomly generated emails that popup. The gameplay was a bit too repetitive for me input wise, It was quite the strain on my fingers doing to same quick clicking motion so much.

As with others, I got stuck at the startup screen but managed to get through it by randomly clicking. I thought the game was broken at first.

Thank you for sharing!

Thanks for the feed back! I totally get the gameplay being pretty repetitive when I was playtesting my fingers cramped up and I should have made the startup screen more clear and .

Thanks for playing!

Very unique idea, coupled with some great art and an excellent selection of memes. Honestly, I enjoyed reading the generated emails more than deleting them

Developer

Thanks! I was hoping people would like reading the emails.

My favourite game so far! I really loved this. At first, I had the same issue as AdrKacz below. I saw the old computer monitor and nothign happened. I clicked around and nothing happened. I thought the game was broken. Then I realised there is a small power button on the bottom right of the computer monitor. It wasn't obvious, but this button starts the game.

TO START THE GAME - press the power button on the old computer monitor (bottom right).

I hope nobody misses this great game because of that one flaw.

The difficulty was perfect. I was progressively getting closer to dying on each level. And the final level (Friday) would be likely to kill me.
Also, the content was really good. I enjoyed reading the emails. Of course, I died if I read them. It's a shame that people will miss the good content within the emails because they have to close them so quickly. I wonder if there is a way to let them see more of this? Perhaps you could allow them to browse their inbox before each level starts, during which time the delete button is disabled. Then players can read all the emails before the level begins - when the level begins, the clock starts ticking, the pop-ups start popping up, and the delete button is enabled.

Thanks for an amazing game :)

Developer

Thanks for the amazing feed back I appreciate it!

Thanks for pointing out the error with my poor game design with turning on the computer I should have thought it through some more.

I was going to add a difficulty to the game so for people that such want to enjoy the emails can but ended up scraping the idea due to scope. Will definitely update the game once I have the chance to add it in.

When I launched the game on my Safari Browser, it displayed an old monitor and stopped here. Is it normal? How should I interact with the game? ๐Ÿ˜–๐Ÿ˜‡

Hey sorry about the confusion to start the game you had to press the power on button on the computer.
