The Google Drive link to download doesn't work anymore.

Not the most constructive feedback. What about it did you find disappointing? How could it be "better"? What kind of "weird stuff" were you hoping to see?

Thank you so much for making this free! I'm doing a jam solo right now and was panicking about having to handle the sound.

The jam page says to use a public github repo, but I'm more familiar with using other versions of git like Gitlab. Is having my project hosted on Github a requirement in order to be a valid entry in this jam?

Glad to hear you enjoyed it. Yeah, we used Unity so it didn't have saving and backtracking and all the nice stuff RenPy has by default. Thank you for taking the time to play it and leaving feedback.

Glad you liked the music. I was going for a lofi version of Satin Doll by Duke Ellington.

Thanks for checking out the game. Yeah, our coder got sick right when the jam started so he wasn't able to dedicate as much time to it as he'd hoped. We may still keep working on it after the jam.

The music was inspired by Animal Crossing and Splatoon. Here is the How To Make Animal Crossing Music tutorial I used.

Alright, yeah I realize that imitative AI like that is generally scummy. I found a 2D artist so we're good. Thank you for taking the time to reply

You can only read and click on links when it's not rotating. Sure, cool, you did something neat in web dev. It's not cool to someone trying to read the rules of your jam. Make it rotate once and be done with it.

I've been using this AI art app called Meitu that can make anime versions of selfies. They have separate filters where you kinda get the same style every time. So if I took like 5 different selfies and then used the same Meitu filter on them, would that be considered more than one sprite? It would just be slight changes in facial expressions. (These would be selfies of me, not selfies I was using without permission.)

Hey, this is greg from the AGDG discord. I like the game so far, but the framerate seems kinda choppy and I'm running an nvidia 3070 with a good CPU. Might want to turn off motion blur and various other effects to get the framerate more stable. Also, you might want to start with the player holding the gun or make it much more apparent to the player where the gun is and that they need to pick it up. I ran around for about 15 seconds before I found the gun. Good work so far :)

I am using a paid asset called PSX Effects to get a ps1 style look. There is a way I can do it without premade assets that is free. I am in a few jams right now so I forget which did and didn't allow paid assets.

You may want to list windows build first in the download page to avoid impatient folks who are used to it being listed that way

Are you sure you downloaded the proper version? (Mac is listed first in the downloads.)

Wine

I love love love how this tool simplifies making sfx (but still allows a lot of customization) but why do saved .wav files not have a file extension? I'm on Windows 10. Clicking the save wav thing but when they save they just have "File" as their file type. Adding .wav to the end turns it into a wav. It does play in VLC but...yeah

The art and controls feel polished. I think getting the far mountains to render would help the world feel more open and vast.

Horizontal mouse sensitivity feels a bit high. The art has a very cute, polished look. The character can get stuck on some of spots with elevation changes (bridges, stairs).

The movement and graphics feel fairly polished. I think adding a bit more tutorial or hints in the beginning might be helpful. After you use open sesame on the door, maybe the next rooms would teach you one spell each. That way, the player learns what each spell does.

How do I set alt-font? just change alt_font to true?
