indeed. it wasnt an event before one of the recent versions so before that they just spawned eternally until you did this method haha.

i just loaded a bunch into a pokeball (green bin) and unloaded them slowly ing The Hole. enough didnt die to stop them spawning. but of course that was when the bins held infinite. now they just hold one. Still doable but itd have to be one at a time. also i dont think ive seen them spawning in the current version after clearing them from the map after the big event. (youll know the event i mean if youve seen it.) but maybe ive just been lucky. havent spent too many days of in game time as i only play on stream, so maybe i just havent been in game long enough for them to spawn again haha. But yea, just trapping a bunch is the way to do it, if they still spawn.
currently the repair tool is only for manually built walls. that said you could cover it up with a custom poster made to look like the wall (either a screenshot of a clean portion or just a solid color that is the right color) but i think custom items cause lag if theres too many so its up to you if its worth it or not. im hoping eventually he adds the option to fix those and a number of other things around the base as well as cleaning more things (like the bedroom carpet and the breakroom floor, and the nasty stains around the vents, just as a few examples)
an option to reset JUST the events and a setting to reset only the majorly changed parts would be nice (like the computer, generators, things like that that undergo a change where continuing an old save keeps the old version, or clips the 2 into each other, that way you can reset those, but not lose your items. and decoration placement, aside from things attached to old things that get replaced of course which would fall.) if like to reset one of my old saves but theres SO MUCH stuff i love that i dont wanna lose them and it would take ages to transfer via mailbox, but i also dont want to miss out on the new things. as it is ive just been transferring things in new major updates and starting a new game. it works but it takes ages.
That said, i love the game so much it still doesnt really detract much having to do that, haha.
filing cabinets are non breakable containers, so explosions wont break em, and the hammer and wrench are potential weapons (not great ones, but not as bad as say a stick.) otherwise most if not all of that stuff can be shredded to make trash piles, or thrown into the incinerator to generate fuel. probably not much fuel though. most of those things can also be sold with the sell gun, though not the file cabinet or computer parts.
yea i wish it would at least give you a couple days before it starts coming back, its a bit too fast. i dont mind doing it now and then, but when i finish the last window and the first window is already starting to get dirty again it gets a bit disheartening. the smudges should also have a larger hitbox, the power washer is much less effective than it should be.
it actually does have a green light when you first spawn (unless it was changed in the most recent patch) but the light goes away a little later at an unknown time. You (at least in 0.7.0) could actually grab it and carry it to the base and even plug it in, but then you can’t get it back out because it didn’t have options on it, lol.
yea, most of the damage from that thing comes from physics, and if you also put on a fire resist suit, its actually more fun than a nuisance LOL. *yeeted halfway across the map* WEEEEEEEEE
as far as i know you cant fight it or likely interact at all. melee didnt work, couldnt hook it, molotovs didnt work, and grav gun didnt work.
