Equipment
Armorer Thor at your service, Your Majesty. If I deduced Raziel’s word correctly, the Iron Titans are almost impervious to most of the equipments we have, at least currently. We’re gonna surprise him by developing stronger weapons and wipe that smug grin off his face when we mow down his “invincible” army like grass!
Right now we have little information about titans. But if they’re as the name suggest, giants made of iron, then there’s already things we can use in our disposal: Siege weapons. If the titan’s movements are slow, then mass boulders launched from catapults and trebuchets should be able to dent them. If their movement is too fast for that, then ballista with steel or mythril as bolt head should hopefully pierce them. As they’re made of metal, I think Lightening magic would also work against them. We could also dig some ditch traps and use their own massive weight against them.
Moreover, I think it’s finally time we revive the weapons abandoned by the whole world for a long time: Firearms! Akai has been babbling about her schematics on new artillery called anti-tank guns designed to pierce heavy armor. Sure, its possible titan will have magic shields that reduce physical damage, but the brute force of artillery is so huge that it’ll probably still be quiet effective. After all, 50% resistance meets 1 million firepower still results in 500,000 damage dealt, right? They are also much more accurate than siege weapons, enabling us to aim for titan’s weakness in case it exist, like their nape or something.
We also need to update equipments for our troops as well. Handheld weapons probably wouldn’t be too helpful against titans, but who said Raziel only has titan? There’s a possibility Raziel will augment his army with other weaker species as fodders, so fighting them would be the job of our field army. I heard your Majesty had acquired many legendary weapons and equipments on your adventure. May I borrow some of them? My blacksmiths will try to reverse engineer and replicate them for our army.
No matter what equipments we managed to invent, we need to make sure we can mass produce them even in war time. Our arms industry is neither as personalized as dwarven forge in Begus nor as massive as the war machine in Dorgania, but we don’t need to copy everything from others. The most important thing is our industry suits OUR need. Central’s renowned steel industry not only provides our army with steel weapons but is also crucial for civilian industry and for researching new weapons and artillery so it’s worth expanding and ensuring its function in war time. Not only do we need to protect iron and coal mines, but we also need to make plans on emergency evacuation of crucial industries to prevent them from being captured by enemy.

General Günther reporting in, Your Majesty. I’m regretful to tell you that our military had been in decline since the end of our Golden Age. If we want to defeat Raziel’s titan army or any future threats, radical reformations are required.
First we need to understand what exactly we are fighting against. We need to obtain all available information about those titans, like their ability, history and weaknesses. Archmage Frall seems to know something about them, along with Magic Spirit considering she’s the guardian of a fragment. Libraries in other countries might have some books about them but they’re probably restricted from public. Perhaps we can seek help from that pink hair priest in Calterburry library, the monk in Karabangui library, the librarian in Siriveta library and that questionable woman in Manastyr library? We could also expand Lady Akira’s Intelligence Center to both collect more information about titans and spy on foreign activities just in case. Our Military Academy also requires some expansion. Right now it only trains our soldiers to become monster hunters. I would like to add officer courses about how to fight as a proper army, such as strategic planning, chain of command, field battle, siege, as well as courses to train specialist like engineer and mage.
Now let’s talk about the current state of our army. Currently our army is a small, pure voluntary force. While the small number does reduce our logistical burden, it also meant it can be easily stretched thin. Every casualty is a huge lost especially for those that required years of training like swordsman and mage as they couldn’t be easily replaced with inexperienced conscript. While on paper voluntary force ensures high quality troops, it’s not the case for us, unfortunately. Due to rampant pacifism, able-body usually joined adventurers or other careers thus our ranks are filled with criminals and low quality plebs who joined due to no other jobs wanted them. Them being drunk, being sleepy on duty and being easily bribed to assassinate your Majesty just prove how serious the problem is.
I have some ideas to solve this. First I suggest expanding our combat tournaments. Your Majesty seems to have a wide variety of fighters in your party, like samurai, wrestler, archer and mage. Many people would love to see what kind of unique skills do the king’s companions posses. If possible, perhaps we can also invite the kitsune sisters and the tiger girl Naevy? They’re also competent fighters and would definitely attract lots of attentions. Hopefully many people will be impressed by the tournaments and pick up combat as sports, as it’ll not only ignite the fighting spirit in our society but also train them to be experienced manpower. When the time is right we can introduce limited conscription before going full on universal conscription. Able-body will enter service for a short time to be trained as spearman and other combat roles that require minimum training before entering reserve, while volunteers will serve as specialists that take longer to train such as mage and cavalry.

General Lind reporting in, dar… I mean Your Majesty! As I told you before, Central is now facing two imminent difficulties: Citizens being too ignorant to the outside danger and incoming surge of non-human refugees. I’ve come up with some ideas to solve these problems and prepare against Raziel’s titan.
Human in Central isn’t stranger to non-human species. But some of them are species we’ve never seen before and it’s the first time for us to settle so many non-human into human cities. I heard there’s a multi-race village called Pumumu which is friendly to us, perhaps we can consult with them on how to incorporate different species?
Another problem is the lax pacifism currently infested in our society, which isn’t good when Raziel is on our neck. Our soldiers received little respect from public and people would rather cling on to their mundane life than enlisting. The non-human refugees who’ll arrive soon would probably bring with them defeatism to our population when they talk about their ruined home, which would further dampen our morale. There’s only one option to survive this harsh time: Reviving Central Nationalism! It’ll not only strengthen people’s resolve to defend our country, but also help non-human forming national identities and blending in with our communities, as nothing unites people better than fighting together against a common threat.
I have a few ideas on how to do this. First we can slowly promote the idea in literature and art, such as commissioning that famous writer in Thremten to write books for us. It doesn’t need to be a blatant propaganda; just recording some fun and adventurous stories from our vanguard and military academy is enough to slowly marinate the public. Perhaps your Majesty can also share some adventures you have with your party? The adventurer story from the king himself will surely make a big hit! We can also organize some motivational speeches to let civilians understand the threat we’re facing and raise the morale of our soldiers. If you want I can make a public speech myself, as I’m sure women will be motivated by a female general and my look can motivate a lot of men. I mean even your Majesty said I’m hot… Also, if we can handle her, we can probably hire Scarlett to draw the portrait of our generals or the depictions of some historic battles to inspire awe. If you wish I’ll volunteer to be a model myself. I wonder if it’ll spiral into a threesome between Scarlett, me and my darling…
Once the citizens has basic respect toward our soldiers, we can step things up with bigger projects… how about hosting Military Parade? Most citizens had only seen the infantry patrolling the street and have never seen our other unit types like cavalry. Celebrating our historic victory with Military Parade would be a great way to impress the citizens and stir up their patriotism, especially for young man. If your Majesty agreed, maybe you can turn into your dragon form and fly above the parade during its climax? Imagine how wild the reception will be when they know our military has a dragon on their side!

Minister’s Ideas
Your Majesty. The ministers would like to share their ideas to help you with reformations in the future.
Diplomacy
Sir Theremis at your service, Your Majesty. My ministries aren’t sure if Central alone is enough to stop Raziel and we’re not willing to risk the country we love to find out. That’s why we need the combined strength of other countries. We have two ways to achieve this and I’ll provide advices for both methods.
First option is forming a Continental Alliance. I can see your Majesty has already laid foundations on this path so I’ll provide advices on how to proceed. Just don’t make it seems like you’re biased toward a particular country or others might think you’re disrupting balance of power and distrust you.
For Amagal, it depends on who’s on the throne. King Rotiart is sly, but since the way he ascended the throne violated Amagal culture, he needs to keep his reputation absolutely clean to justify his reign. We can drop hints that we know he engineered that drought and blackmail him into compliance; King Merius might be mad, but he has a soft spot for perusing unknown knowledge to grow stronger. If we can convince him Central’s diversity is an endless pool of new knowledge then he’ll most likely stick with us; Queen Varea is already our acquaintance and, if you wish, you can further cement the alliance by marrying Ms. Chiyo to become her relative. Beside, forgive my rudeness, we can hold Ms. Chiyo hostage if queen Varea somehow betrayed us.
For Begus, it revolves around the queen and the church. I see you’re quiet close to Queen Jeanne and we can perhaps marry her relatives into our court. I won’t stop you if you want to marry her yourself, but just remember combining two countries is much harder than it looks. Our cultures and demographics are radically different and hard to assimilate, opposing nobles might unite to stop you, and foreign countries might oppose this shift of power. The church is an influential force to stabilize Begus and they also support Queen Jeanne, so it’ll be smart to keep at least cordial relationship with them, with the help of Ms. Mira. I understand your hate on racism, but solving racism takes a long time and I don’t think Raziel will wait that long.
For Dorgania, its quiet straightforward: Make king Lancafew believes Central as an ally is more useful than as a colony. We had secured non-aggression pact and several trade deals with them, which is a good start. Life in desert is grueling and most of Dorgania’s industries are dedicated to military, this gives us opportunity to provide something they couldn’t produce themselves. Food is their largest import from us, and we can provide Rakake with more exotic cuisines that couldn’t be made in desert. Our steel industry is also a valuable bargaining chip for us as steel is crucial for their arms industry. Central can also offered to be a diplomatic bridge between Dorgania and other countries so Dorgania can focus on their military affairs in the west while other countries won’t be offended by their wooden attitude. There’s also an option of helping them regulate or crack down their abolitionist movements, which they would definitely appreciate. I’m not forcing you to help their slavery; I’m just saying the option is there.
Of course, if we can’t ally with everyone, there’s always the option of Conquest and Vassalage. I myself am a dove diplomat so I personally would keep it as last resort, but I’ll do my best to help if you choose this option. First we need to make sure other countries won’t intervene when we focus on one enemy at a time. We can do so by stirring up the distain between them, like telling Amagal how others want to steal their knowledge, telling Begus how others reject their religion, and telling Dorgania how others want to liberate their slaves. To help with the conquest we can stir up some domestic trouble for them as well, like triggering noble or beastman civil war in Begus, inciting slave revolt in Dorgania, or convince the residents of hellhound village to come out and do what they do best to Amagal.
Commerce
Sir David at your service, Your Majesty. As Minister of Treasury I’d like to suggest some financial reforms. Let’s start from dealing with corruption. I’ll never doubt how Your Majesty uses your money, but we still need to prevent the bureaucracy from committing embezzlement. For this I have a rather unorthodox idea: Seeking help from Ms. Sandra and Ms. Jaylin. Ms. Sandra being a thief could probably think of every possible ways to steal funds, and I heard she’s rehabilitated into “Righteous Blade” recently. If you trust her then we can probably have her working with the police to patch up holes in our regulations or even use her as a spy to catch whales. Ms. Jaylin seems to be enthralled by our treasury. If we can make sure she herself doesn’t steal, we can use her passion on gold to have her monitor and catch anyone who dares to steal “her” money.
My next proposal is rather ambitious. As you might know, independent businesses and trading form the bulk of our economy. For their future development I propose establishing a central bank system. There are already some private bankers in our country but a national bank is more reliable and trustworthy. We can attract entrepreneurs and skilled workers to our country by providing loans to start their business. Merchants will have a safe way to keep and transport a huge fortune without the risk of bandits. Inflations and deflations can be mitigated by regulating coinage and interest. If things go well we can even attract foreign investment with our stable and trustworthy market and turn Central into an international commerce center. It can protect us from foreign invasion as other countries wouldn’t want their money to be looted. Mr. Darude would be a perfect candidate to handle the negotiations.
Construction & Industry
Sir Edward at your service, Your Majesty. Our country is rich in resources and has lots of potentials become an economic powerhouse. Apart from construction I’m also responsible of domestic development. That’s why in addition to the construction project I marked on your map, I also have some extra ideas to develop our industries.
Food industry is obviously the most important industry for us as our farms provide fresh ingredient for kitchens around the world. However, as our cities grow I’ve started to realize not everyone knows how to cook and some are too busy to eat leisurely in the restaurants. We need to come up with new culinary business that’ll thrive in urban zone. If Ms. Kayelinth is interested, we can use the food from her farm to test out my new idea called “fast food joint”. The menu will be focused on inexpensive meals like salad, stew and meat slice to target common citizens. Ingredients will be cooked beforehand so the customers can get their order almost instantly. We’ll also provide packaging so they can take it back to their home or work place. I remember your companions had a cooking contest with Tami from Pumumu and Keylessia from Orchel, perhaps they can help coming up with new dish ideas? I envisioned this would quickly grow popular in big cities like Aldlyn. If things go well perhaps we can even expand this new type of business to other countries.
Eventually, Raziel’s army would come and we must be prepared. Although our food production can sustain us for a long war, the size of our kingdom isn’t that big and it’s lacking strategic depth, so I would prefer stalling the invaders at our borders to prevent our populations and industries from devastation. We don’t know where Raziel’s would come from, so we must be prepared in case he bypassed other countries and directly goes for our border. We need to build massive walls and fortifications to protect exposed border, which unfortunately Central has little experience in that matter. If we can get permission from Begus and Dorgania, we would like to learn from the dwarves who excel at such matter and study the Great Wall of Dorgania to help designing our own walls. It seems your majesty had befriended Ms. Adrianna who’s a famous dwarf with many connections while I heard Water Spirit helped building some defensive installations for the Great Wall. Perhaps we could ask for their help?
Science
Hi! Head researcher Hilda at your service. Since our country is a birthplace of creativity and fresh ideas, it’ll benefit Central greatly if we utilize this advantage to its full potential. So I’d like to propose some ideas.
First, I want to expand our mandatory education system. Having lots of literate population not only helps greatly in academy research, it also means skilled workers can train their apprentice more easily, soldiers are less likely to misinterpret their orders, and many other unforeseen benefits in other professions. We can then set up several different departments of academy to attract scholars around the world, especially for those that are ignored by other countries but are definitely useful if explored, like Zoology, Agronomy, Engineering, Geology, Meteorology, Astronomy, etc.
Speaking of which, don’t we already have some candidates? Ms. Chiyo can help us with magical research and Alchemy. Akai and Yami can keep working on their Engineering. Monster Hall can be a good place to learn more about the Zoology of monsters, with the help of slime girl Lexi, dark elf Ellanore, Tabsy from Big Farm, Meilira from Whisperwind farm and beast tamer Aiyana. I heard there’s a dwarf called Bob who need income for orphanage, perhaps we can hire him as part-time professor of Geology when he’s having trouble with jade mine? Mermaid Coral could teach us Oceanography while elf Renna could teach us Agronomy that’s unknown to Central. If Your Majesty is so kind, perhaps you, along with Ms. Mira, Ms. Kayelinth, Libelle, Leneth, Glyntris, Lili and even ghost Shey can write down how each species fly differently? It’ll be tremendous help for Aeronautics.
If it’s morally fine, I’d really like to hear from that necromancer at Skylo Tower. Having labors that require no food and no sleep can help our economy a lot. I’m also interested in the way professor Gloom “manufactured” Ms. Ryoko, can we do some experiments on her like how Akai experimented on your Majesty? Zady’s witchcraft could potentially be very useful to us as well. Perhaps it can be the key to defeat Raziel’s titans, right? Everything for science!

Vampire attack
One night Aldlyn was suddenly under attack. Casualties included hundreds of civilians as well as a relative of the king, with gashes on the neck of his dried body and his royal emblem missing. Investigations suggested the rebels, in their desperation, sneaked a vampire into the capital and ordered it to assassinate the king and take his emblem as proof, but the vampire not only mistook the target but also lost control and slaughtered unrelated civilians. The rebels denied it, of course, but soon a tunnel that was used to smuggle the vampire into the country was discovered with evidences of rebel activities in it.
News spread, and the entire population soon fell into panic, fearing their villages might be the next target for the rogue monster at large. The king’s call to arms against the vampire was met with fervent enthusiasm throughout the entire kingdom. Human, beastman, orcs, and many others flocked to join the royal army. Wind Spirit offered her support while communities across the country donated supplies to fight the common threat. With the combined effort of the entire nation, the task force finally tracked down and weakened the vampire enough for Wind Spirit to seal it up in a secret place Wind Spirit didn’t wish to disclose.
Final victory
After the vampire campaign the royalists swelled several times in strength and received universal adoration, which meant it’s finally time to crush the Langohren and end the revolt. Central Army, a new royal armed force reorganized by Dorganian attaché, promptly smashed through rebel’s defense and annihilated all in their path. The rebels tried guerilla warfare but failed miserably due to local peasants erupted into defiance, as by now rebel’s reputation was in gutter thanks to their heavy taxes and the vampire. In the end most captured rebels were executed for treason, and those who evaded guillotine were often lynched by local peasants.
Legacy
Centralization of power:
War of Liberation became one of the greatest political masterstrokes for king Wiljahelmatz I as he successfully transformed Central from feudalism to absolute monarchy. Whatever oppositions left were silenced and the king can finally build up Central in peace, including that long awaited road system.
Soon after the war, the king expanded the palace and invited/compelled the remaining nobles to live there. On surface it’s meant to reward their loyalty and bond with them, in reality it’s meant to tie them up so they couldn’t plot any opposition in their domain.
Reformed military:
Soldiers from royal faction were restructured into a new national force called Central Army, which take orders directly from the court. Lands previously owned by rebel elves & nobles were confiscated and garrisoned by this new army. To root out remaining resistance, a spy network was established in Witton which eventually evolved into Lady Akira’s Intelligence Center.
National identity:
During the hunt on vampire the mindsets of civilians changed forever. As people fought side by side against a common threat they started to realize they aren’t simply a member of their village, but also a member of something much greater – a nation. People started to identify themselves as proud citizens of the victorious Kingdom of Central, regardless if they’re human or orcs. Rising nationalism helped the king to dissolve regional differences and solidify his central authority, as well as to integrate various species into the country.
Elf racism:
It came at the expense of the elves, however. The southern elf population practically disappeared, either dead or fled. Those who found refuge abroad often became apologists of their “lost cause” and filled their own heads with baseless conspiracy theories like “Vampire attack was orchestrated by the king”. This gave the impression that elves are unrepentant luddites who refused to believe science CAN be used to save nature.
The northern elves survived by dissociating themselves from their southern kin, but still suffered discrimination. Elf’s nature-loving ideology was criticized even among environmentalists after being debunked by Earth Spirit herself, with some even labeled it “environmental-terrorism” as they would apparently wage war over some trees. The term “Elvish Lumberjacks” is used by many non-elf races as joking euphemism to describe executioners, while children sing nursery rhyme that goes: “Here comes the woodsman to chop you a bed, and here comes the long-ear to chop off your head!”
Royal Lumber team:
As the elves were denounced, the Royal Lumber teams were decorated. That first lumberjack who died was honored posthumously while his family was given pension and a huge blue villa to live. An arena was planned in the future to be built where the first riot took place to commemorate the event. Royal Lumber teams would continue serving Ministry of Construction, helping tremendously in the expansion of Central now that they’re free from those pestering tree-huggers.
Newspaper:
Newspaper played a huge role in the war. The press ran by the patriot noble in Praverhill quickly spread pro-king messages across the country, from Earth Spirit’s endorsement to vampire crusade. It helped culminating nationalism and swayed public opinion toward royalists. In appreciation, Wiljahelmatz I promised to promote their business into national news agency in the future.
Crime syndicates:
During the war the rebels used various means to obtain supplies, including digging several tunnels and hiring smugglers. These smugglers eventually evolved into several crime syndicates who use the existing tunnels to conduct criminal operations, such as Thief’s Guild and Assassin’s Guild.
The Spirits:
The king allowed Spirits to help other countries in need as promised. In the end 3 Spirits left: Water Spirit to Dorgania, Magic Spirit to Amagal and Ice Spirit to Begus. It’s not a big lost for Central as they still have 3 Spirits and now they can use the relation between the Spirits to influence foreign opinions.
Benefit for other countries:
Dorgania received Water Spirit who helped tremendously to the desert country and their military attaché learnt valuable experiences on fighting rebellion which helped them crush several slave revolts later.
Amagal received Magic Spirit who helped them research new spells and they obtained lots of elf specimens to experiment on, as well as successfully tested out their foreign spy network.
Begus receive the help of Ice Spirit until she was falsely accused later. The teaching from the church became very popular as this elvish rebellion proved lesser species are indeed a threat. The church used this popularity to strengthen Apelia royalty’s reign over nobles, as well as push for more radical racial policies, such as the attack on the village Pumumu.
Aftermath
The victory ushered Central’s Golden Age for the next several decades to come, and Wiljahelmatz I spent the rest of his reign slowly turning Central into a prosperous country. However, as the prestigious king died of old age, the Golden Age died with him.
His successor, Fridurih III, was a naïve idealist who tried too hard reconciling with the elf. He pardoned former rebel elves abroad unconditionally and even dismantled that road system to give back their “precious trees”, basically undone everything Wiljahelmatz I worked so hard to achieved and irritated those who were hurt by the rebels. The result? Fridurih III forgot elves hold grudges as long as their lifespan and the ungrateful former rebels betrayed their leniency by assassinating him as they’re still salty toward royalty.
The next successor, Wiljahelmatz II, was the opposite. He became cynical and greedy after witnessing the death of his family. He hammered hard on not only elves but also anyone he suspected, alienating many loyal nobles in the process. Wishing to scare the opposition, he raised taxes and declared plans on expanding military without proper cause, which not only stained foreign opinion but also cause dissent to the civilians. Ironically, all these measures resulted in the very fate he wished to avoid: he was found dead by “mysterious causes”.
As the royalty’s last hope, it is up to the last heir, king Saotome, to return Central back to its glorious days… and beyond!
After the history lesson, the ministry wold like to meet you...

History: War of Liberation
War of Liberation (also known as Elvish Rebellion, Central Civil War, or Die Langohr) was one of the largest conflicts in Central’s history that happened 70 years ago. Starting out as a riot from some unruly elves, it eventually spiraled into a major war between royalists and a rebel coalition known as “Langohren”. The impact of the event not only changed Central, but the rest of the world as well, as many of its legacies can still be seen and felt to this day.
Background
In the past Central had been following feudal system as well as their tradition of racial tolerance. Nobles were granted huge privileges and non-humans are respected, especially the elf, as some elf chieftain are even granted the same right as human nobles to rule their tribes. However some nobility, both humans and elves, eventually started to abuse their power as they started to fight among themselves for territory and brought chaos. Royal ministers couldn’t build any proper roads without some elves vetoing the project because some trees will be chopped. Some nobles even ignored the treaties signed by the king and trespassed foreign borders with their private army, almost triggering an international crisis.
About 80 years ago, the cunning, ambitious new king, Wiljahelmatz I, finally decided to centralize the power and end this shenanigan with an iron fist. He spent the next 10 years carefully prepared several gambits, rallied nobles loyal to him, and slowly stripping power off impudent nobles and elf. After years of brewing, racial and political tensions were at boiling point at the eve of the revolt.
Outbreak
About 70 years ago, Royal Lumber team started operating in the Bitterroot Forest in Southern Central, revered by southern elves as sacred ground and habited by many endangered species. This enraged the local tribes of elves who quickly surrounded the lumber team. During the heated confrontation a lumberjack was killed by elf militias, triggering a bloody riot with both sides accusing the other for starting it.
As the king dispatched a punitive expedition and demanded the culprits to be handed over, the elf tribes in the south discussed what to do. Angered by the king’s desecration on their culture for years, the elves decided to rebel, as they even got the consent from Earth Spirit who also believed the king disrespected the nature. The united elf tribes quickly routed the expedition with their combined force and threatened independence from Central unless the king stops his deforestation policy and respects the autonomy of the elf.
Langohren
The rebelling elves quickly sought support from other factions. Although many northern elf tribes like Ebron refused due to being too close to Aldlyn, most of southern elf tribes joined. Many human nobles, emboldened by the victories of rebels and furious at the king for stripping their power for all these years, also joined the uprising and provided much needed financial, military and diplomatic support. Apart from Earth Spirit, they also obtained the promise of secret support from neighboring countries. Thus a multi-ethnic coalition was formed, whom they called themselves “Liberators” but was often nicknamed “Langohren” by the others. The coalition defeated royalist garrisons and gained complete control on all Southern Central at the height of their power.
The king’s gambit
Unbeknown to the rebels, they had fallen right into the traps that the king had set up for years. By provoking a rebellion, the king gained causes belli to wipe out the insubordinate elves and nobles once and for all. The feigned retreat by the royal army had indeed lured the nobles into joining the fray, changing the rebel’s image from “environmentalists” to “greedy aristocrats”. For the next several months the royalists simply held the defensive line and let the coalition roam at the south, waiting for the right moment to strike and let the coalition tear itself apart. Indeed, without immediate danger the elves and human nobles soon fell into inner struggles for leadership, resources and, ironically, racism.
The supply situation for rebels grew more precarious by the day as the elf’s natural preservation policy proved counterproductive, rendering Southern Central unable to sustain prolonged conflict. Half of Southern Central is covered by tundra which not only is too cold for farming but also consumes extra firewood. Whatever arable lands left were underdeveloped due to elf tribe’s refusal on sacrificing nature for development. Part of inner fighting within the coalition stemmed from human nobles urging some forests to be turned into farms and mines, which elf chieftains rejected. The nobles had no choice but hiring smugglers and taxing heavily on farmers, which only delayed the inevitable and angered local peasants in the process. With stockpile dwindling as stalemate went on and famine imminent, elf chieftains eventually conceded and allowed a part of Bitterroot forest to be chopped down and tilled for farming, but it’s too little, too late.
The scientist from Aldlyn soon met with Earth Spirit and explained that what Royal Lumber team had been doing was actually “forest thinning”, which is crucial in preserving biodiversity in the wild. Realizing the king was actually protecting the nature, Earth Spirit withdrew her support on rebels and personally cleared the king’s name. Public started to view rebel elves as morons after their moral standpoint collapsed. Too late to turn back now, the demoralized rebels can now only hope for the promised foreign aid… which was a lie.
The king had already secretly bought off all surrounding countries because he can provide something rebels never could: The Spirits. Some Spirits had been thinking whether they should move out and help other countries, and the king promised to help convincing some of them to do so after the war. In return, the three counties not only follow the king’s plan and lied to rebels to give them false hope, but also provided clandestine support to the king: Dorgania sent military attaché to help training royal army; Amagal provided espionage and magic expertise; while missionary from Begus helped driving public opinion against rebels.
Just as things were looking great for royalists, something unexpected happened…

Other countries : Amagal / Begus / Dorgania
Author's note: It's... finally... done!!! Overview about Central! This will be the longest one because there's new sections with lots of contents talking about different ideas and even some character origin. Now let's dive right in!
Central, the country we’re ruling. Since the game is already viewing things from Central’s perspective and lots of contents are subject to update, I decided to try something different. The usual geography, culture and military will have less content this time. Instead, the new sections “history” and “minister’s ideas” will have a lot of contents. Hope you enjoy it.
Geography
Central has the mildest weather, richest soil and overall the best living condition. A river separated the territory in two, which are often nicknamed Northern Central and Southern Central. Apart from lush forests, it also has lots of different geographic features like mountains, caves, lakes, tundra and even lava. This mean Central is inhabited by a wide variety of wild lives, both animals and monsters. Iron and coal are quiet abundant as well, though not as rich compared to its neighbors.
Central is surrounded by 3 other countries: Amagal, Begus and Dorgania. In the past there were some border disputes, but nowadays it has pretty much stabilized by natural borders. Right now Central might be the weakest country, but it has the potential to become a great power if properly developed.
Politic, Economy and Culture
Compared to other countries, Central has the most tolerant attitude toward various species. Since it’s right on the cross road of the continent and has lots of different habitats, people generally are used to different faces by now. Beside since it has such a nice environment, there’s usually enough food and other resources so there’s less reason to compete, arguably the most important factor that makes this tolerant attitude possible.
This open-minded attitude attracts not only colorful species of immigrants who brought alone their unique culture, but also entrepreneurs who wished to try their new ideas. As a result, Central becomes the melting pot of the world. Ideologies interact with each other and give birth to new one while creativity flourishes like flower, turning Central into a birthplace of great artists, philosophers, theorists and innovators. Independent businesses, along with food industries and trading, form the bulk of Central’s economy. In fact, Central pioneered steelmaking industry in the world thanks to the creative blacksmith in Calbridge Stronghold invented a new foundry and techniques. Central’s high quality steel is sought after by blacksmiths around the world and becomes the third most exported goods for the kingdom, after only food and lumber.
In the past, the respect of diversity was represented with their highly autonomous feudalism as the king respected regional differences. However, the War of Liberation had shown such system couldn’t survive the changing world. As a result the political structure is now highly centralized and people are no longer separated by regions. The entire Central is their shared canvas, and everyone will use their different ideas and methods to decorate it together.
Of course, being rich in resources will inevitably draw the ire from envious neighbors. Central couldn’t compete with them in military, but it has another powerful tool that never fails: Diplomacy. Central’s Ministry of Foreign Affair is a veteran in international politics with countless experience in manipulating foreign intrigues. With agreements, intimidations and even straight out lies, diplomatic ministers had saved the kingdom for generations without shedding a drop of blood.
There’s another crucial players here as well: The Spirits. Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Ice and Magic, all 6 Spirits used to live together on this colorful land for a long time. They use their immense power to help Central citizens and maintain peace, while generally avoid politics. Other countries also want Spirits in their country as well and they couldn’t risk antagonizing them by kidnapping or invasion. The Spirits soon started to discuss whether they should help other countries in need as well. Central eventually allowed some Spirits to move out after achieving some agreements with its neighbors.
However, the peaceful attitude in Central has a severe downside. With Bloody Crusade and War of Liberation gone in history, the population grows complacent. Soldiers receive little respect from the society and drafting will often be met with vehement opposition. If thing go on like this, Central will stand no chance against Raziel’s titan army even with Spirit’s help.
Military
In the past Central’s armed force were composed of noble’s armies and the king’s Royal Army. After the War of Liberations all the armies were merged and reorganized into a national force: Central Army, commanded directly by the king, while the noble’s role were reduced to simply provide recruits. Apart from land force, Central also has a small fleet of navy based in Havaria Port, made of small vessels for littoral patrol.
Central also has its famous Military Academy, which has a long history as it was established since the time of Bloody Crusade. For years the Academy trains generations of fighters specialized in monster hunting and contributes greatly in containing monster threat. However, the Academy started to receive some criticisms in recent days. The complaints include the lack of military training that doesn’t include monster hunting as well as pointing out the serious bullying hierarchy among students.
Central Army in current time has fallen a long way from its prime back in Golden Age. It is composed of Heavy Infantry, Archers, Light Calvary and some support mages, nothing too special compared to neighboring countries. Their job nowadays are mainly guarding the cities and hunting stray monsters. Combat experience isn’t that great, to say the least.
However, there’s also a small but famous detachment: Vanguard Force. They are cheaper to maintain and thus saw much more actions, making them battle hardened. They are also a quiet diverse bunch, making them suitable to test out new army templates, new weapons and even new species as well.
I’ve mentioned a lot about War of Liberation. So next let’s dive into history and talk in detail about how this crucial event shaped the world as we know it.

I know some people want to know, so I'll just say it here. Currently I didn't write overview for Central. There are many reasons:
1. We already play as Central in this game. The game already shows you how Central is like and view things from Central's perspective. So far I couldn't come up with unique stuff to write without basically repeat what's already been said in the game.
2. Lore about Central is too susceptible to future change. For example, if developer decide to add more story about Lady Miles or other nobles I'll have to revise all politics lore to see if it's compatible. Hell, I might even have to rewrite military system every time a new vanguard commander is added if some details conflict my lore.
If I can somehow overcome those problems, I'll definitely write one for Central.

Dorganian Army
The backbone of Dorgania military. Compared to other countries they have the most diverse and organized unit types to perform different missions.
Heavy infantry
The soldiers in grey armor that you see all over the places. Armed with halberd and shields, their role is forming up spears & shield wall to blunt enemy charges, absorb enemy missiles, and deter enemy cavalry.
Archer
Provide fire support behind melee infantry. These archers are trained to shoot their arrows in high angle. That way they can shoot over allies or obstacles enemy might set up. Even if they failed to penetrate armor, having rains of arrows smashing all over your body is still disorienting.
Crossbowman
Instead of plunging fire, crossbowman excel at direct fire and penetrate armor. Though this means they can’t shoot over obstacles, it makes them good at castle defense as they can hind behind walls and shoot through arrow slits, something you couldn’t do easily with a bow.
Skirmisher
Light infantry armed with light armor, defensive short sword, javelins or simple bow. Their job is to use their mobility to harass straggling units and soften up enemy’s rank with their projectiles before melee infantries engage.
Cavalry
As one of the fastest units in the army their jobs are scouting, raiding enemy supply lines and give chase to fleeing enemy to cut them down before they can reorganize. When given armor and heavier equipment, they can be used as the “hammer”, smashing into enemy’s rear line while heavy infantry pinning enemy in places.
Cavalry archers
Trained in shooting arrows from horseback, they specialize hit and run tactic to harass the enemy or lure them into traps. They’re especially useful at dealing with monsters as they can draw monsters to wanted locations at safe distance.
Sapper
Groups of combat engineers. Sometime they might even hire dwarfs from Begus to join them. They are responsible of building all kinds of field installations like palisade, anti cavalry stakes and watch towers. During a siege they are also responsible of building siege weapons like battering rams, trebuchets, or digging siege tunnels to collapse the wall.
Offensive mage
Mages that specialized projectile spells. Due to their fire power but light armor, they are generally grouped with skirmishes to softening enemy’s rank with their range attack and raiding lightly defended supply line, which they’re especially excel at with their fire spells. Sometimes they might even ride horses to chase off fleeing enemy.
Defensive mage
These mages excel at healing, defensive ward and psychological spells. They are usually interspersed within heavy infantry ranks. As heavy infantries protect the mage from attack, the mage will do their best to help soldiers holding the line by healing, increase their defense with spells, as well as removing fear to keep up the morale and prevent mass routing and desertion.
Anti-air mage
These mages are especially designed against flying enemies, as magic is much more suitable at hitting fast targets that can move in 3 dimensions than arrows. They specialize in AOE attack at long range, especially storm-based like Rainstorm or Thunderstorm as flying units are extremely susceptible to weather.
Dorganian Navy
In order to protect the trading line and prevent monsters from bypassing the wall through sea, Dorgania had built up impressive fleets. Smaller ships like longships are used to patrol coastal waters as they’re more maneuverable in shallow water and more flexible against monsters, meanwhile bigger vessels like carracks are used to protect ocean trade lines against pirates.
Experimental Firearm units (EFU)
As firearms aren’t economical against monsters, most countries simply ditch them in favor of magic. However, since Dorgania treats even human countries as potential enemies, firearm could be extremely useful for them.Besides, only a child would choose one, why not using both magic and firearm together? With gunsmiths around the world losing their jobs, Dorgania has been secretly bringing them in and funding the research on firearm. They are even researching ways to make magical firearm that automatically enchant the bullets it fires or even shoot out bullets made of pure mana, thus making firearm economic against monsters again. Of course, they must do all these in secret as developing anti-human weapons won’t look good in the eyes of human nations.
Without burdening the budget too much, Dorgania had secretly fielded a few battalions of firearm units to test out suitable doctrines for future use. The level of their equipment is around that of 1900, when soldiers have rifles and artilleries but still wears colorful uniforms. To remain secrecy, they were mostly deployed on the western border and pretend the monsters as human target for testing.
Rifle infantry battalion
Armed with bolt action rifles, they will become the bulk of the army once high-cost problems are resolved. Apart from their long range and firepower, firearms have one more crucial advantage over cold weapons: training time. Compare to swords and bows which need decades of training, training a rifleman only requires a few weeks. The personnel can be expanded with little training cost and any casualties can be replaced almost immediately, whereas every swordsman killed is a drastic loss of manpower, resources, and training time.
Machinegun squad
When gunsmiths heard about the Steam gun designed by the engineer in Central, they took interest in the concept of automatic firearms. The results are these heavy machineguns, capable of firing 600 rounds per minute while the barrels are cooled with Blue Slime Essence. Many generals criticized such contraptions as they believe they’re wasting ammunition, but all criticisms vanished when they’re deployed to suppress a slave revolt. With just 4 machineguns, they manage to mow down 5000 mobs of charging rebels and ended the revolt immediately, leaving generals dumbstruck at their effectiveness. Machineguns now become the stars among EFU project. Once bullet cost problem is solved, they’ll surely dominate the battlefield, as a gunsmith proudly proclaimed: “Whatever happened, we have machineguns, and they have not”.
Dragoon
Cavalry armed with lever-action carbines that allow them to fire on horseback with one hand. Like cavalry archers, they’re good at hit and run tactics as well as raiding enemy’s territory. They can also be used to quickly reinforce broken infantry line.
Artillery battery
“God fights on the side with the best artillery.” is the motto of everyone in this battery. Their jobs include smashing open a hole in enemy line for cavalry to exploit, blunting enemy’s offensive, cleaning up the surrounded enemy, and destroying enemy’s fort. To do this they are equipped with Krupp field guns for direct fire support and Krupp howitzers for siege bombardment. They possess many advantages over mages, with the most important one being range. Mages need direct line of sight on target and can reach no more than a few hundred meters, while artilleries can easily reach several kilometers away and, with some calculations, can lob shells over hills or other obstacles to hit the unsuspecting enemy.
Abid-al-Lancafew
Slaves are heavily utilized by the military, but mostly in performing menial labors. They seldom join combat to prevent them from using weapons to revolt, except for these guys. Abid-al-Lancafew (Slave of Lancafew), or sometimes called Black Guards, serve as Lancafew royalty’s bodyguard and military police. What ensures their loyalty is the way they are raised. They hail from a community of slaves who live in an isolated colony. Children are taught to obey royal family since birth to make them fiercely loyal to their master. When they grow up, they’ll start a family within the same community and pass down the idea to the next generation. Armed with rifles and scimitars, they not only serve as Lancafew’s elite soldiers but are also tasked with maintaining discipline and loyalty within the military. Sometimes they’ll disguise as normal slaves and blend in slave populations to root out potential oppositions, such as recently they manage to deal a huge blow to an abolisher organization and forced an operative called Mike into hiding. If you tried to liberate them, they’ll kill you without a second thought because nothing brings them more joy than serving their master and disobedience is a“crime against humanity” in their eyes. Times and times again they’ve proven their strength and undying loyalty to their master, thus even though they’re technically slaves, they are given so many privileges from the king that some argued they have even higher social status than free citizens.
203rdDorganian Combat Aviation Battalion
When general Lind contemplates about wing-force idea, Dorganian General Staff had already formed up such units. This experimental unit is composed of manticores, dragonics, wyverns and other species that can fly. Some members are from similar communities as Abid-al-Lancafew to serve their master, others are free citizens who want to help Dorgania against the monster army that destroyed their “old” home. They are equipped with rifles, as firearms are more suitable in aerial combat than arrows because bullets are less affected by wind and have higher velocity and flatter trajectory, thus easier to hit the target in high speed. Those who can use magic are given an experimental “Gun-cane”, basically a mixture of rifle and magic cane that can be used as both. As for wyverns and species without arms, they’re tasked with dropping bombs and airlifting cargos with their feet. So far they’ve only seen limited actions, but the General Staff believe once expanded, they’ll have the power to rival even the renowned Angelic Wings from Begus.
Opinions on other countries
Being pragmatic as they are, Dorgania’s foreign affair generally revolves about benefit, while still keeping contingency war plans just in case. If you’re useful, Dorgania welcomes you; if not, then at least don’t bother Dorgania. If you’re hostile, well… Dorgania wouldn’t mind upgrading from kingdom to empire!
Amagal:
Even though King Lancafew sees them as a bunch of crackpots, he knows their magic could help Dorgania greatly. Thus, apart from normal trading, Lancafew signed a secret trade deal with Merius to obtain advanced magic tech in exchange of some specimens. Although Dorgania admire Amagal’s drive for innovation, they can’t help but feel how inefficient Amagal’s research are as they only cares magic and have no concept of opportunity cost. For example, when a boulder is blocking the road, Amagal will blow it up with explosion spells while simply having a few people pushing it away could have been enough. What they’re doing is like inventing a sledgehammer just to crush an ant. Yes, its powerful, and it gets the job done, but impractical. What if you need to kill 1000 more ants? Can you lift a sledgehammer a thousand time?
Their war plan against Amagal generally revolves around overwhelm them with numbers. Numerical advantages are often being underestimated, especially in literature as it serves nothing but more canon fodders, but this couldn’t be further from the truth. Quantity is a quality of its own. More numbers mean more tactical options available and the ability to multitasking. Besides, according to Lanchester’s law, having double the numbers actually means you’ll achieve 4 times the result. With more numbers will achieve even better outcomes.
Begus:
As they’re far away, Dorgania doesn’t interact much about them although sometime Dorgania will hire adventurers from Begus to fight the monsters. Dorganians laughed when they heard the church is condemning their slavery, as the church is basically doing the same thing to Begus with some “gospels” they preached.
Due to the distance, their war plans against Begus usually involve proxy wars. They’ll exploit Begus’s weak central authority by secretly supporting some nobles into starting civil wars and installing a puppet ruler in the end.
Central:
Recently relation with Dorgania and Central improved. They manage to get non-aggression pact and various trade deals from Central, which is good because Central is a crucial food importer for Dorgania. Despite this, King Lancafew couldn’t help but worry if King Saotome will be influenced by those sanctimonious preachers and betray Dorgania. Some generals argued having food supply controlled by other country is a big risk and proposed suggestions about conquering Central, which are quickly shot down. Not because they can't defeat Central’s weak military, but because other countries might intervene and Water Spirit will be angered for invading the home of her friend, Earth Spirit. However, it’ll be a different matter if Central attacks first, as Water Spirit might even convince Earth Spirit to ditch Central and help Dorgania instead.
Another possibility is Central embargoing Dorgania’s food import. A famine will likely happen if they do that. But Dorganian General Staff already came up with a plan, as they know Fire Spirit and Water Spirit hates each other and Fire Spirit is very… “close” to Ryen…
1. Convince Water Spirit that King Saotome is manipulated by Fire Spirit and this famine is her scheme to starve Water Spirit’s followers, causing Water Spirit loses sympathy to Central.
2. Because of this famine, Dorgania army is understandably weakened and couldn’t do anything as some monster army juuuuust happen to slip past our wall and march straight into Central, causing great havoc to them. It’s not our fault! Central started this famine in the first place!
3. After a few days of massacre, Dorganian army will march into Central to “help them with the monster army”. But to prevent the tragedy from happening again, Dorgania will annex some fertile land around Thremton and Ebron to ensure food supply and protect Earth Spirit, Water Spirit’s friend.
Of course, King Lancafew would rather not do this as the fertile land in Central might be ravaged by monsters, but it’s better to be prepared than not.
That's it for now. Feel free to ask any questions or sharing your thought!

Military
Unlike other countries, we have full understanding on how a total war is fought. Warfare is much more than just soldiers killing enemy, it’s also a test on how well you organize your country and how efficient you can utilize your economy and manpower. Countless countries in history lost the war because they only focus on winning the frontline but ignore the “home front”. Dorgania indeed has a strong military, but its more than just having the largest standing army. We also planned extensively on troop mobilization, economy mobilizations, infrastructures, and chain of command.
First, the troops. Dorgania practices universal conscription on all our free citizens. Liable men and women come of age must serve and receive training for a period before they’re discharged as reserve. That way when the war breaks out, we will have millions of trained manpower to draw from. We also welcome volunteers as career soldiers for better salary and other benefits. You’ll find that citizens will cheer for you, shops will give you discounts and you’re more likely to be engaged. We even offer opportunities for slaves to earn their freedom. When situation calls, we will seek out capable slaves that belong to military and offer them the choice. They’ll serve extended period with less salary than others, but they’ll be given temporary citizen status in the duration. If they serve valiantly, upon retirement their citizen status will become permanent, and they can enjoy the rest of their lives as free man. We call it: “Service guarantees citizenship!”
About our economy mobilization. Our industries have been structured in the way that can be easily converted into war economy. We’ve also made several plans about relocating crucial industries in case enemy breach into our territory. For the industries that can’t be moved like farms we’ll use scorched earth tactics. Soil will be salinized, and wells will be poisoned to have the invaders die from thirst under our desert sun. Don’t worry, Water Spirit can easily fix them once we recapture the land.
Over the years we have constructed lots of fortifications to help with war effort. The most crucial and famous one is obviously the Great Wall of Dorgania. It’s not just a mere wall, it’s a massive complex of defensive infrastructures that can not only passively defend upcoming attack (even flying enemy), but also serves as a base to launch preemptive expeditions to expel monsters further from our border. In case the wall is lost, we still have secondary bases like Tajurata Fort to be used to reorganize and recapture the wall. Currently we’re building one more of such base by utilizing an abandoned village that used to be habited by 4 dark elves.
Finally, let’s talk about the pinnacle of our military: Dorganian General Staff. Dorgania is the only country with such organization, as the ruling class in Amagal are too proud to share authority while Begus and Central are too peaceful to give military so much power. Remember when I said I might become some “secondary prime minister”? That’s because I’m not only work as a commander but also as the Chief of General Staff. My staffs are filled with some of the most capable and renowned generals in our country and our job is drawing up war plans in peace time, treating everyone (monsters and human nations) as potential enemy, and assume military command when the war breaks out. If things go FUBAR, His Majesty can even grant us emergency powers to make the king our only superior, meaning we can directly command other branches of civil ministers to mobilize the entire country for war effort, temporarily turning Dorgania into a war machine. We have carefully assessed the political situations in every country and mapped out their roads, forest, mountains, rivers, settlements and other geological feature to plan for long term strategic objective, short term tactical goal, optimal advance route and supply line, time tables of the entire campaign, potential enemy resistance and how to crush them, as well as estimated cost, casualties and benefits.
For example, one of our many plans to deal with monsters in case they breach all of our walls and forts goes like this:
1. Lure the monster army to faunas of our indigenous monster girls.
2. Water Spirit will convince monster girls to protect their habitats and fight the invading monsters. Thus both sides of unkillable monsters will fall into an endless loop of being killed and respawn.
3. Monster army will be severely disorganized during the chaos. Our army can then surround pockets of divided monsters and drive them out of the wall, a handful at a time, until all the invading monsters are cleared.
4. Quickly reinforce the wall to prevent invaders from returning.
Details are classified.
We heard about the grim news of an upcoming titan army commanded by Raziel. But do not worry! Dorganian General Staff is already working around the clock forming up war plans against them! Our military will also be constantly updated with new training and new weapons that are several times more powerful than any magic in the world! We Dorganians hail from the burning ashes of our old country! Heaps of walking scraps and metal are child’s play compared to the hell we’ve been through! We need you all! Join Dorganian military and save the world! Service guarantees citizenship!
WE’LL KEEP FIGHTING! AND WE’LL WIN!

Other countries : Amagal / Begus / Central
Author's note: Here's the fan lore I headcanon for Dorgania. The role-playing character here, the commander, will cover politics, economy, culture and a part of military topics.
I'll be honest. As a military fan, Dorgania is the country I had the most fun writing. Before I realized I had already write 125% more words than other countries. There are so many words that I have to separate it into 3 parts!
Anyway, hope you enjoy!
Dorgania is known to be a pragmatic country. Strong, rich, but cruel. Why do they rely on slavery so much? How do they build such a strong military? Let’s dive into the view of Dorgania to understand what makes them the way they are.
Geology
Dorgania spans across the western continent, huge swerves of land that are mostly desert. Water and vegetation are scarce but the underground is filled with precious minerals that are even more abundant than Begus, with some unconfirmed rumors even claim they found reservoirs of some black, sticky liquid. On their northern coast lies one of the only navigable sea bustles with maritime activities. Beyond their western borders connects a massive wasteland, roamed with hordes of monsters and demons that are a hundred times more ferocious and brutal than any monster seen in other 3 countries.
The populations are mostly consists of survivors/descendants from the original Dorgania (white people) and natives (black people), along with wide varieties of other species like orcs, elves and vampires. They generally live in towns founded near oasis, either natural or artificially made by Water Spirit. Due to some unknown incident a huge chunk of land at south east was covered in seas of poison and thus was abandoned.
Politics, Economy and Culture
Greetings, I am the commander of Lualombo. Even though I technically belong in military branch, a special position of mine requires me to dabble in other civic branches as well because there’s a chance for me to become some sort of “secondary prime minister”. I’ll explain later.
There was a time when Dorgania is just like Central. The society strives for the happiness of the citizens, which is peace. Governments prioritize social welfare instead of military. But everything changed when monster army attacked. Our peaceful country was flattened, and the kind heart of our people was trampled to the ground, both figuratively and literally. Since that day our mindset changed drastically. The spirit of Dorganians now lies in strength. We take pride as we joined the military or providing resources to them because then we can walk up the street with our head held high knowing we are contributing to the survival of our loved ones and humanity. Of course, we must sacrifice the happiness of some people, but that’s because we know a terrible truth that makes happiness irrelevant: Monsters aren’t picky eaters, to them happy humans are just as tasty as sad humans. If those monsters come through, they’ll commit atrocities a hundred times crueler than what we’re doing. That’s why military means everything to us.
When our neighbors are countries with an army, Dorgania is an army with a country!
Against something that can respawn infinitely, we must be careful with our finite resources. “Efficiency” is the principle of our economy. Different from dwarven weapons from Begus, which are forged in accordance with each blacksmith’s personal preference thus the quality is inconsistent, Dorganian weapon industries have standardized measurements and unified format to ensure the consistencies and interchangeability of each part. Same goes for our food industry as we must make the best use of what little arable land we have. Not only do we construct extensive irrigation channels, but we also carefully monitor the quality of the soil, temperature, moisture, sun light and potential pests to determine which crop must be planted, at which place, in how many numbers, and for how long to achieve maximum output.
Now the products are produced, it’s time to send them. We have constructed a massive network of roads spanning across our huge territory, with Rakake being the central traffic hub. Roads are carefully planned to connect supply chains of each industries and markets as well as allowing fast deployment of our troops. We are even keeping meticulous records on the movement of our caravans as well as the goods they’re carrying to calculate supply shortage/surplus in each towns. Such logistic system helps us preventing the same fate as Begus, a decentralized country too disconnected to its huge territory.
Apart from that, there’s one more reason our centralized government can maintain effective control over our vast territory: Teleport Stones. Imported from Amagal as part of our trade deals, these stones allow information to be passed almost instantly and allow Kagabangui to quickly respond to anything happened across the country. Thus the royalties can replace nobles with mayors directly sent from the capitals to ensure the loyalties of each region.
However, there are some limitations for the stones. First, each stone only goes one way to the pre-determined location, thus you can’t use it to infiltrate the enemy and each back-and-forth transport would need 2 stones. Second, each stone can only be registered with one user and the user couldn’t bring too many people & cargoes with him, which limits its use in transportation. Due to these limitations and high price, we reserve the stones for government and military to send crucial messages, evacuate VIP from danger, or transport emergency supplies and reinforcements.
The blooming economy, the meticulous infrastructures, the absence of threats from monsters and demons and the prosperity of our people, all these wouldn’t have been possible if we didn’t conquer the indigenous tribe. During our exodus to search a new home we’ve come across countless native tribes massacred by monster army. Their eyeballs dangled out of their sockets like pendulums while monsters swallowed their intestine like sausages. (I’m not exaggerating. Refugees from the fallen city Pheralos can confirm the brutality of those monsters.) We have sworn to ourselves we’ll never let others suffer the same fate as we do. That’s why when we finally arrive to our new home and learnt that local people are totally ignorant of the upcoming threat, we did the only thing we could to save them: Unite them with force. Before we arrived, these tribes have been fighting each other for generations and uniting them with compassion would take too long (if not impossible) to stop the encroaching monsters, thus conquering them is the only option. If they couldn’t even defeat Dorganian army at our worst, they stand no chance against the monster army that destroyed our original country.
With populace subjugated, we reallocated resources to be used in a more efficient way and enslaved some people. We’re not racists like Begus. There are also some white slaves and black free citizens while orcs, vampires, elves and even succubus working with human isn’t a rare sight in Dorgania. It’s just that the monster threat forces us to practice strict meritocracy. With our traumatic experience with monsters, we white people are more willing to sacrifice for the society, like working extra hour instead of spending time with family, while black people seldom do so because they’ve never experienced hell like we did. As a result, most white people generally achieve better results than black people thus these white people got their deserving reward in correspondence with their hard work.
In a nutshell: We don’t care what race you are or what color of skin you have. If you are useful, then prosperous life awaits you; if not, then slave you go.
The result speaks for itself. With cheap labor from slavery and mass resources obtained, Great Wall of Dorgania completed just in time to repel monster army and saved not only us, but also all those natives and all other 3 neighboring countries. If you’re still not convinced, just look at the difference between Newkungu and Pheralos. Newkungu used to be a mere oasis settlement but with the protection from Dorgania, slave workforce and reallocated resources, it had transformed into a prosperous town with its renowned entertaining industry run by a kind fox girl and magic industry lead by the famous magic tutor. In comparison, Pheralos is far beyond the protection of our wall thus they enjoyed their precious little independence until… well, we all know how well things turned out for them, don’t we?
Despite this, there are still some noises from Central that criticize our measures while intentionally ignore what we’ve contributed. These sanctimonious fools sit on their fertile land, kick up their feet with luxurious tea in their hand and preach about high ideals, little realizing the reason they have the leisure of mood to write up such lofty speeches is because we Dorganians have been spilling sweat and blood stopping monsters from entering their country! Thankfully, these noises are still minorities in Central so they don’t strain our relation for now, but backlashes from our populace have already started to pop up, with some radicals even suggest we should intentionally let some monster armies march straight into Central to make them understand the hell we’ve been through.
Water Spirit understand this. She saw it firsthand on how important these measures are required to protect both Dorgania and other 3 countries. Thus she’s willing to overlook our measures and help our government as best as she could. We really can’t thank her enough. Not only does she draw out water, but she also helps us with some defensive installations like moats and stuff. She even manages to tame indigenous species of monster girls so not only would they not attack us unless we strike first but they’ll even occasionally donate their monster drops. She promised she’ll keep helping us as long as we don’t go any crueler than necessary.
An exception worth mentioning is the elf village Orchel. These elves seem to have some sort of magical connections to the forest and can produce more food, wood, herbs, and magic items if organized by their elf mayor. So we made a deal with them: We let them rule themselves as long as they pay extra taxes and follow our mobilization law when needed.

At least not now.
One of the problem is, this game is already viewing things from Central's perspective. So far I couldn't come up with interesting lore without basically repeat the script in this game.
Another problem is lore about Central is too susceptible to future change. For example, I'll probably have to come up with new lore about military every time a new vanguard commander is added because some small details might reveal the lore that isn't compatible with mine.
But I'll definitely try if I could solve these problems.
I mentioned they're "working on" those OP spells, which mean a lot of these OP spells are still in concepts phase and Amagal have yet to actually make them work.
Amagal has small territory, which means their defense line lacks depth and can be easily overwhelmed. The wall of Manastyr is strong, but not invincible.
They're lacking manpower and resources as well. Magic couldn't create everything, and mages require decades of training so every casualty is a huge blow. This makes them vulnerable to war of attrition.
Imagine them as Germany in WW2. They're indeed OP if they can end the war quickly, but if the enemy survive the initial onslaught, they'll be slowly ground to dust in the long run.

Military
For Begus, war is a test on their faith. To test whether they can truly adhere to his word without being corrupted by monsters. To test whether they can represent the will of the God.
The local nobles are responsible of raising, commanding, and supplying troops in their region. This reduce the burden of logistic for Calterburry and makes sure any crimes and sporadic undead attack can be responded quickly with local garrison, but it means soldiers (except for those raised in Calterburry) can be easily controlled by their regional commanders and the nobles. This also means uniting all units into a single chain of command is difficult thus hampering their effectiveness when fighting on national scale.
However, this doesn’t mean Begus military is something to be scoffed at. Their equipment consists of top-quality weapons and armor hailed from dwarven forge. Plus they are supported by the strongest air force in the continent: Angelic Wing. Begus also possesses a final trick up its sleeve if all things failed: Holy War! With it practically the entire Begus will be mobilized by the church to fight against the enemy of God and secure their place in heaven. Do not underestimate the strength of thousands of apostles willing to die fighting for God. Deus Vult!
Honorable Army of Begus
Due to the peaceful ideology of their religion, Begus army isn’t designed to fight other human countries. (Except when they are invaded, of course) Instead, their primary duties are defending against monsters/undead as well as policing against crime. When holy war is declared, they will be bestowed the title “Crusader” which means the moral restrictions on not fighting humans are removed and their service will become the will of God. Their sins will be indulged and their places in heaven will be guaranteed.
Sometimes the army will be requested by the church to chase off species that refused to move to special zone. Most commanders aren’t that zealous but there’s another reason that compelled them to do so: Undead Lord. They’ve already suffered so much against undead raised from the bodies of fellow human and they certainly hope the Undead Lord doesn’t have access to the bodies of stronger species. What if Libelle, the cat dragonic, was killed and reanimated by Undead Lord? An undead DRAGON! The risk of mass civilian casualties is just too much to bear so most commanders decided to play along to remove the threat preemptively.
Enforcer
The basic soldiers. Even though they wear the same blue and yellow uniforms, the capabilities of each enforcers vary from regions to regions depending on the leading nobles and commanders. Members are usually composed of levies and volunteers. Levies are only called upon when emergencies happened to bolster the number as they receive little to no training. On the other hand, volunteers will not only fight in wars but also act as police force, thus they’re not only trained in combat but also trained in police duties such as patrol, crime investigations and crowd control. Of course, they’ll receive better pay than levies.
Custodian
Capable enforcers will be promoted to this position as officers and chief of police. They’ll receive their iconic green uniforms, heavier equipment, as well as officer training and some basic holy magic.
Paladin
Extraordinary individuals will be given a chance to join this prestigious rank as the heroes of Begus. They’ll be sent to Calterburry for training and once they graduate, they’ll receive special blessings from the angels themselves such as regeneration aura and others. Paladins are exceptional at shielding damage and psychological attack, then vanquish evil creatures with their holy spells and weapons. As they are the embodiment of justice itself, misdemeanors won’t be tolerated. Such as there’s once a paladin exceptional at shielding others but was kicked out due to her “troublesome” fetish.
Royal guard
Led by captain Bernardus, they are elite soldiers that are responsible of the safety of royal family. Due to their strength, Queen Jeanne would occasionally send them to help with undead attack, much to the displeasure of Bernardus. Not because he hates the order as killing the undead is a good change of pace than standing idle in the palace, but because he worries that they can’t protect their beloved queen when they stretch thin.
Royal miner
Royal miners are a group of proficient dwarfs that work as elite engineers. Their job is to travel between different mines on request to either search for monsters, inspect tunnel safety, and help with mining accident. They would also construct various makeshift structure such as tunnel support beams and medical posts.
Order of Begus
Order of Begus is a group of armed agents that are directly commanded by the church. They would be sent along with missionaries and priests to different towns, especially those with lots of undead or high rate of crimes. In peace time they will help missionaries and local communities with dangerous jobs. When the undead attack they will help local garrisons with their holy spells. These religious combatants also serve as a personal army for the church to maintain power.
Evangelist
Evangelists are high ranking clerics and scholars that serve as the “carrot” of the church. Their job in peace time, apart from spreading the word of God, is giving advanced educations and help with healing that normal priests couldn’t handle. When it comes to fighting, their main job is to stay at the rear and support the front line with healing spells and protect everyone from fear or other psychological attack with their faith-based magic.
Inquisitor
Inquisitors are warriors and professors of theology & law that serve as the “stick” of the church. In peace time they serve as arbitrators to solve disputes and occasionally help local garrisons with police duty and legal consult. When the undead attack they’ll rush to the front line and crush those skeletons with their giant hammer of justice as well as bombard the rest with offensive holy spells.
Adventurer Guild
Begus has the most well-established adventurer institution compared to other 3 countries due to many reasons:
1. Having lots of unexplored dungeons and the wild land in the east that offers infinite possibilities.
2. Endless jobs of monster hunting thanks to problems from undead and other species.
3. Weak central government means adventurers have high level of freedom without being molested or force into service by authorities.
Adventurer Guild technically doesn’t belong to government and they stick to the rule of never touch jobs about inter-human/angel/dwarf conflict, though they will gladly cooperate with the army when it comes to national crisis against monsters. They have facilities all over the country, with their most iconic training base being Spire of Courage. Over the years they have produce countless adventurers that become legends, such as Hayrick’s group, the raid groups that had slain numerous monsters and counting, as well as the two Vampire hunters that, despite hating each other, have exorcised vampires together so often that some rumors claim they’re actually couples. There are also many others with more… “unique” characteristics like there’s this one adventurer that refused to take any jobs except killing goblins and the other one that couldn’t use any offensive weapons other than a shield.
Angelic Wing
Angelic Wing is currently the strongest battle-proven air force in the world. Angels can be divided into 3 orders, with each can be further divided into 3 tiers, a total of 9 tiers:
High Orders (Seraphim, Cherubim, Thrones) can be seen as generals. They are the most powerful angels with the highest authorities. Due to their rarity, however, they usually stay in the back to organize other angels and wouldn’t join the fight unless absolutely have to.
Middle Orders (Dominions, Virtues, Powers) can be seen as NCOs. Their job is mainly leading lower tier angels in the front line and occasionally deal with tough opponents.
Low Orders (Principalities, Archangels, Angels) can be seen as privates. They are the weakest, but the most numerous. Even so, their holy spells are still several time more powerful than other species.
Valkyrie squadron
These combat focused angels, with their potent spells and proficient fighting skills in both long and short range, are task with engaging flying enemy as well as assisting the ground force in fighting strong enemy, especially evil aligned monsters and undead.
Choir squadron
Instead of fighting, these angels utilize their angelic singing to boost their ally’s spirit and prevent their morale from collapsing. They also work as flying medics, quickly extract the wounded from the battlefield and heal them with spells.
Opinions on other countries
The goal of the church of Begus is to unite all human nations together under the peaceful banner of God. To do this they’ve been sending missionaries to other countries throughout the years with various degree of success.
Amagal:
Begus sees Amagal as a psych ward. Instead of God, they preach magic and knowledge to the point even the most religious bishop would call feverous. The missionary they sent came back with reports that everyday these lunatics surrounded him with questions like “Do angels retract their wings under their skins like cat claws?”and “Does halo count as an organ?”.The conversion is going nowhere so they decided to postpone it for the time being.
Dorgania:
Begus is sick of Dorgania’s cruelty, especially their slavery. The fact that their king and officials don’t even care about their sin only further infuriate the church. But due to Dorgania’s military might, the long distance between the 2 countries and the undead crisis back at home, Begus decided to remain neutral relationship with them for now.Despite vehement condemnations from the church, many Begus adventurers and caravans would travel to Dorgania for dangerous but lucrative monster hunting beyond their western border, studying new monsters or selling dwarven weapons to this huge market of militaristic country.
Central:
Compared to other foreign countries, Central is easily the best choice for Begus to make friends with. For years Begus missionaries have been doing their job inside Central without much trouble as Central is tolerant to religion, though sometimes they find it too tolerant to make Church of Begus the dominant religion. Trading flourished as Begus need tropical crops and herbs from Central and Central’s small military need quality dwarven weapons. Due to close distance and open border, adventurers often travel between countries to explore each other’s dungeons. Despite there are some differences like opinions toward demi-humans, church of Begus still sees Central the best springboard toward building a peaceful world.
That's it for now. The last country Dorgania will be coming soon. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Authors note: Another country overview I headcanon based on game lore. This time is Begus and there'll be some role-playing as Archbishop. BTW every country overview will have some Easter eggs. Did you find them?
Begus is known to be a religious, but sometimes racist country. Why does the church have so much power? Why do they hate demi-humans? Let’s view things from Begus’s perspective to understand their point of view.
Geology
Begus is a vast country that is mostly covered with snow, although there are some places that are a bit warmer. Rich metal ores distributed all over the places contribute greatly to their economy, including the jade vein that can’t be found in any other countries. Over the years they have managed to dig massive mine networks that could’ve potentially been used as housing if they weren’t overran by undead. Beyond their eastern border (outside of game map) lies huge untamed land filled with secrets and mystery waiting to be discovered. There are some monsters roaming on those unclaimed land but they’re not as dangerous as those on Dorgania’s western border and they seldom intrude into Begus territory.
Most of the populations in Begus consists of humans, dwarfs and angels.Only few demi-human and other species still stubbornly live within Begus as most of them have migrated to the demi-human zone just outside of eastern border, which the government prepared for them to live.
Politic, Economy and Culture
Begus has a diverse food culture that differs from town to town. In the few villages that are warm enough they plant grains and vegetables. For other towns that are too cold for regular crops, they instead raise livestock for their meat and dairy product (the reason why Begus is the only country that sells cheese in their shop). Most importantly, Begus has a much larger alcohol industry than any other countries as alcohol is the life essence of 1/3 of their populations and it helps human to warm up in the cold as well.
Mining & Metallurgy industries flourish in towns that are lucky to have mineral veins nearby. Dwarfs usually migrated to such towns as this is where they can shine. Apart from exporting raw metals, dwarven forges have created countless legendary weapons that are sought after all over the world. Swords, spears, maces, katanas, you name it. The only exceptions are guns and other firearms as they are deemed heresies by the church.
Due to the vast distance and permanent snow, transportation & communications are difficult throughout the kingdom. This, couple with the drastic difference in environment and industry from town to town, makes it hard to form a centralized government. As a result, Begus follows a classic feudal system. Royalties only have direct control on areas around Calterburry. The rest are distributed among different nobles for them to govern based on different local cultures and needs. This makes it vulnerable for the infighting between nobles and the lack of respect toward royalties. Royalties must rely on a powerful faction to maintain a stable rule: the church.
The Church of Begus
Welcome to our humble church. I am the Archbishop of the Church of Begus. We realize you have many questions regarding our actions. Fret not, as it is our duty, as messengers of God, to help the misguided open their eyes not with fervent screaming, but with logics and truthful discourses.
“When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.”
Our goal is to spread the wisdom of God to every corner of the world, starting in Begus. To do so we send agents such as missionaries and priests to various towns. They will not only spread his gospel but also help local communities such as babysitting, healing, teaching, and if needed, exterminating undead. Requesting our priests to heal you require some fee as these are crucial incomes for us. I understand this sounds greedy but it’s necessary. We still need to eat and developing new healing spells cost a fortune. With these incomes, nobles and other political parties won’t be able to bribe us and tarnish our duty to help people.
Everyday God weeps as he sees human barbarically butchering each other for their petty greed, both literally and figuratively. Sure, violence is required to defend our species against undead and monstrosities, but God didn’t created human just for us to grind our own species into extinction. Something must be done to prevent nobles from bringing anarchy to Begus. That’s where we come in. By rallying religious civilians and soldiers, we will be able to coerce nobles with the pressure from the masses.Instead of killing each other, human should work together and fight the monsters and undead that threaten the existence of mankind. That’s why we allow other weapons but ban guns as it’s obviously designed to kill other human, not monsters, and should be removed.
And of course, let’s talk about the question that’s been brought up a lot, about our attitude toward demi-humans and many other species. The truth is, we never wanted to exterminate them. God create every creature for a role to play in the world after all. It’s just that the “role”of demi-humans in the world is different from that of humans, angels and dwarfs. Many heretics demand us to treat every species same way as human, little realizing this would send a message that the “role” can be changed on a whim and things will spiral out of control.
For example, if a human claimed some demi-human,which are half-cow and speak 90% of our language, should be treated as human and we agreed because they look “close enough”, soon these enfranchised demi-humans will demand the same treatment to species that are 3/4 cow because they also look “close enough” in their eyes. This would go on until some 99% cow species claim the cattle tilling the farm are people too and accuse farmers of slavery. Alas, if Alraune casts some strange magic to the plants or if there’s a second magic outbreak that affect the plants and the salad in our plate start speaking like gentlemen, these heretics will demand every vegetarian in the world starve themselves to death!
No, lines must be drawn. Angel, human, and dwarf can be Begus citizen, no more. It is not demi-human’s role to live with other humans.Dwarfs are basically shorter humans thus can be regulated with the same law while angels are tied to heaven itself and their transgressions will be automatically smitten with comeuppance, such as there’s once an angel tried to cheat in a duel so God punished him by stripping most of his power temporarily and made him easily beaten by a dwarf. However, how do you regulate demi-human? Do you know how many people got severe allergies and were even hospitalized because some demi-humans always leave their fur all over public church? Do you know how many demi-human criminals had gotten away with their crimes because they can communicate and collude in ultrasound or other animal gestures no other species can understand?
But don’t worry if you’re a good demi-human. When God closes a door, he also opens another window. If you can’t play the role as a Begus citizen, why not play the role God prepared for you? God blessed you with animal features so you can thrive in the wild! Not human civilization! We have prepared a special demi-human zone for you, just outside of our eastern borders so demi-humans can regulate themselves without Begus jurisdictions. You’ll be free to dress as we do, live as we do and prey to God as we do while enjoy the nature with your animal sense. Your zone can also serve as a traffic hub between human civilizations and unknown eastern land. Your economy will thrive as passing adventurers purchase supplies, lodge in your inns, and sell treasure to you. Adventurers will also thank you as their family & friend back in Begus will feel safer for there’s a buffer zone protecting them from the untamed east. A perfect solution that will benefit all children of God!
We know Her Majesty wish to separate government from church, either by solving undead crisis or by bribing military. We understand her good intention, but the young queen is still too naïve and ignorant of the ugly political battle the church has been fighting for her.
Sure, white silver weapons are good against undead, but can she find the elusive Undead Lord in the first place?
Whose soldiers are going to weld them anyway?
Her personal soldiers? What will happen when royal soldiers just come in and show local people how they can kill the undead easily while local garrisons couldn’t for decades? She might unintentionally destroy the reputation of reginal commanders and nobles for their only fault is not having white silver and they’ll be antagonized even if they originally supported the queen. They’ll do anything to undermine her such as stopping her soldiers from entering their domain with all kinds of excuses or even back stab the soldiers when they’re fighting undead.
Giving white silver to nobles? Can she be sure they won’t commit embezzlement by selling them? And what about the nobles who’s already cleared all undead in their domain? They couldn’t be rewarded with legendary weapons because they did a good job protecting the citizens?
Giving them to her soldiers and every single noble? Does she have that much money to craft so many weapons of such unique material? And in which order will she distribute? Just the act of sending the first batch to one certain noble first before the others could send unintentional message and cause political backlashes.
And there are lots of problems if she tries to bribe military against us as well: She can out-bribe us, but can she out-bribe all the nobles and political factions in Begus? What if someone else can give more money to commander Walcot, offer more privileges for the commander of Ironholm Prison, or blackmail new commander of Diminus Castle into submission by fabricating criminal evidence?
Unless Her Majesty is willing to bathe her hands in blood, barring the church from politics will only cause more misery to our innocent people.
The world is ugly, that’s why Begus needs us! That’s why the world needs God! Only his word can nourish people’s soul beyond every material wealth and unite them to do what is right. Something our mortal government could never achieve!
“But just as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, so we speak, not to please man, but to please God who tests our hearts.”
Dare we dream of a golden day when the bestial War shall rule no more. But instead—the gentle Prince in the Hall of Brotherly Love in the City of Peace!
Amen!

Military
For Amagal, war is like a test: to test out if you have enough knowledge to deal with each type of enemy; to test out if you’re good at tricking your opponent while preventing yourself from being tricked.
Merius is a mad king, not a stupid king. He understands full well on the importance of information. Over the years he’s been secretly building a global espionage network so sophisticated that it will make Lady Akira’s network looks like child’s play. Magic camouflage, Memory orbs, teleportation, brainwashing, magic encryption & decryption, these are only tip of the iceberg. They don’t just extract intel, they’re also good at planting false intel for the enemy to fool them. And the icing on the cake? No one know this network exist and everyone believed Amagal is an isolationist who doesn’t care about other countries, little realizing Merius is laughing at your ignorance in his office while monitoring the whole world! That’s what I called secret!
Have you wondered why any foreign kings can just waltz in their palace in Manastyr and request audience immediately instead of going through length procedures like Begus? That’s part of the psychological trick to make you relax - people tend to slip up crucial intel when they’re relaxed. Ever since you enter their border you’ll be kept under magical surveillance in secret. Merius had even planned to turn every citizen’s eyes into magical security cameras with purple dust and his planned hive mind network. Sadly, the plan was interrupted when he was couped by Rotiart.
Once the intel is gathered, it’s time to act. Now let’s talk about their unit composition.
Arcane army
The backbone of Amagal army. As you can imagine, Amagal’s soldiers are mostly composed of mages. They’ll be assigned different rules in accordance with the type of magic they excel at, which will further be ranked based on their magic license (Bronze, Silver and Gold). Due to low population the number of personnel may be low, but do not be fool. Even the lowest bronze mage holds formidable power that can rival several soldiers.
Arcane sorcerer
The classic versatile mages that you saw all over Amagal. Excel at dealing elemental damage from the rear and occasionally assist in other roles. (Chiyo’s AOE skill tree)
Arcane hunter
These mages focus on various kinds of offensive spells and status effect spells. They are designed to hunt down especially strong monsters or enemy elite soldiers. (Chiyo’s Focus skill tree)
Arcane defender
Instead of offensive magic, these mages focus on damage reduction magic and magic shield. Their job is to stand in the front as a tank and protect others from projectiles with magic ward.
Arcane champion
Enemies fighting against Amagal would no doubt prepare countermeasures against long range attack. That’s when these guys come in. They excel at melee combat, with their speed, reflexes, stamina, and striking power enhanced by magic. Good at cracking enemy’s shield wall.
Arcane summoner
They are responsible of summoning golems, monsters, or all kinds of creatures to fight alone side other soldiers, either using magic or sealing crystals. (Like that cat girl working for Raziel)
The Warlocks
The elite units in Amagal military. These guys are the best mages Amagal had to offer. Each possesses enough power to decimate a city. The final trump cards.
… at least, that’s what Merius WANT you to believe. You see, every country would expect you to have some sort of powerful secret units. Instead of trying to cover them up, Merius decides to play a different game. He picks those who excel in magics that are visually impressive or controversial and pretends to “keep them secret”. Spies from other countries would be baited by these red herrings and wouldn’t pay more attention on the “real” secret units. Sure, these guys are several times more powerful than ordinary arcane mages, but nowhere near the level Merius truly has in store.
Fragokinesis squad
This group of mages is the literal embodiment of “Knowledge is power”. Their only job? Casting the explosion spell “Knowledge”. One-spell-mages are frowned upon by many but that’s only true to adventurers. In the military there are thousands of other mages to support you so you can focus on honing a single spell, such as controlling the blast radius, extending the range, increasing the damage, etc. They are especially useful at blowing up enemy fortifications or killing monsters that have multiple elemental resistance. However, they’re very vulnerable when they ran out of mana. There have been several cases that young mages failed to check their mana and collapsed as a result, with one rumored case being a girl face-planted immediately after casting just one spell.
Tempestarii
Tempestarii are mages that specialized weather related magic such as Rainstorm, Firestorm, Blizzard and Thunderstorm. The spells they cast aren’t just some AOE attack spells but the spells can actually change the local weather, even if they only last a few minutes. They’re especially useful at wiping out a large horde of enemy or flying monsters. Apart from attacking, they also have other utility uses like freezing the river so the army can cross or putting out city fire.
Necromancers
These guys excel at raising the undead either to fight as fearless soldiers and tireless labor force. So far these necromancers are nowhere near the level of the Undead Lord in Begus and the undead they raised isn’t that hard to deal with if you know proper magic. But it’s still quite a headache for those without holy spells and controversial enough to draw the attention of enemy’s spies.
Animancers
The opposite of Necromancy, Animancy focus on controlling the force of life. By manipulating life force, they have access to some high-level healing & curing spells without the need of holy element. They’re also capable of spells that are similar to Druid but more powerful, such as Chlorokinesis (control plant), Zookinesis (control animal), Entokinesis (control insect) and many more. They are actually much more useful (and controversial) than you thought. For example, if you want to weaken a country without declaring war on them, you can control swarms of locusts to eat their crops, control swarms of rats to spread diseases, control termites to undermine their infrastructures, control algae to pollute their water or introduce invasive species to destroy their ecosystem. It’ll be hard to prove your actions because you can always blame it as natural occurrence.
Demonologists
A group of top graduates of Demonology. Since summoning new demons with current available technology can be too dangerous, their job for now is to tame & command existing demons of all kinds into combat. To do so they utilize all kind of manipulation magic, Orangium and sealing crystal to somehow make them behave as intended. For example, they know about the hellhounds living under the volcano and their biggest project currently is finding a way to manipulate at least one of them, with Yimu being the most likely candidate. If they can convince Yimu (either with illusions, brainwashing, or just good old bribing) that enemy soldiers are her “playmates” but Amagal soldiers are secretly under Dai-Xinyue’s protection, they’ll be able to have her massacre the enemy but leave Amagal soldiers intact.
The Covens
The “real” experimental units Merius doesn’t want you to know. Handpicked by Merius himself, the members are composed of those who not only have great magic talent but also share Merius’s dream of transcending human’s life in various ways. They believed only those with strongest magic talent can make their dream come true, thus they remain loyal to Merius even when Rotiart rallied half of the country against him. Most of the covens are kept under such secret that only Merius know they exist. Even though they’re not as flashy as other magic, they have the potential of turning your wildest imaginations into reality, just as their motto goes: “There’s no things we can’t do, only things we can’t do YET.”
Phantom Coven
Popped in and popped out like a ghost, these assassins excel in espionage, infiltration and assassination using portal crystals. Their undying loyalty was shown to the world when they launched a daring operation and rescued King Merius from Rotiart’s grasp. Originally Merius had planned to improve their ability to infiltrate and assassinate foreign rulers with improved teleportation spells. Now that they’re forced under the spotlight, however, Merius cancelled such plan to avoid intel leak and instead rewarded their loyalty by making them his mandatory bodyguards.
Mirage Coven
These mages focus on illusion magic, from basic magic camouflage to high tier optical, audio and haptical conjure. Their job is to trick the enemy, causing confusion in enemy intel structure.
However, this is just the start. Right now they’re experimenting on the pinnacle of all illusion spells: casting illusion on reality itself! Think about it. If the reality itself is fooled, then it’ll become real! The “fake” mountain you conjured will become real, trillion tones of dirt & rock popped out of thin air! The “fake” human you created will become a living soul with memory & personality! It’s like a writer adding characters and world building into his literature, except it’s real!
Eclipse Coven
These dark sorcerers are the masters of death, the all-consuming eclipse. They’ve dabbled in a wide variety of magic such as instant-death spells, curses, Necromancy and any other magic that might help them uncover the secret of death. As other countries hate them and even committed literal witch hunts out of their prejudice on dark magic, Merius embraces them with open arm. They showed their gratitude by teaching Phantom Coven death spells that leaves no wounds on the body, thus fooling others into believing that the victim simply dies of natural causes. Of course, they also taught Merius countermeasures against such spells in case anyone tried it on him.
Currently they’re working on a special death spell so powerful that might rewrite the definition of death itself. Apparently, such spell can not only kill living creatures, but also bring death to those that are not considered “alive” as well. It can kill the rock, kill the water, kill the air, even kill the GOD!
Clairvoyance Coven
There’s a bedtime story in Amagal about some sort of All Seeing Eye in ancient time. This community of mages, who’s been mocked by everyone all their lives because they believe the Eye was real, are overjoyed that there’s finally a king who doesn’t treat them as chuunibyou. Not only that, he’s even offering them a chance to prove its existence by recreating one! This coven oversees intelligence gathering & processing. They answer directly to King Merius and can direct other covens to help them out if needed. They have created the most powerful magic surveillance system in the world (named “Eye of Merius” in honor of him) that can not only oversee every corner within Amagal but can also spy on foreign territory with some capacity. The guilt of them underestimating the threat of Rotiart was redeemed by them finding out where Merius is kept and relaying it to Phantom Coven.
After their dreams of recreating the Eye were fulfilled, their eyes were further opened by Merius and they realized they can achieve something far greater than that! Right now they’re experimenting on a magic eye that can gaze through space and time! With the ability to review the past and predict the future, Merius the Great shall become the shepherd that leads humanity to godhood!
Opinions on foreign countries
Amagal sees the world as an infinite library. They are eager to absorb as much knowledge as they can like diligent students. Other countries and people? They’re just books that help them comprehend other knowledge. You want them to form diplomatic relationship with some ink & paper? And I though Amagal is the crazy one.
Begus:
Amagal finds Begus fascinating. They want to know if such high level of devotion is the result of some advanced subconscious manipulation or some brainwashing spells. They’d like to kidnap and experimenting on this “God” of theirs to see how exactly does his “faith” magic work. If not, then some angels will do. Sometimes Amagal would hire Begus adventurers to explore and collect samples in various new dungeons as well as capturing monsters to experiment on. They promised handsome reward for anyone who capture the Undead Lord and transport it to Amagal before the Church of Begus could exorcise it.
Dorgania:
Even though Amagal generally sees Dorgania as an unculture brute, Amagal do recognize their strength and commend their drive for efficiency. Maritime trade bustles between the two countries as Dorgania provides lots of stuffs that are useful to Amagal. In fact, King Merius had made a “secret trade deal” with King Lancafew: In exchange for Amagal’s advanced magic technology, Dorgania would provide criminals, slaves and monsters captured from western border war for Amagal to experiment on. Dorgania has respectable counterintelligence program but still not enough to stop Amagal spies. They find Dorgania’s “secret units” interesting but are confident that Arcane army won’t have much trouble dealing with them.
Central:
For years Amagal simply observe Central like observing a fish tank. Conquering some fertile lands do sounds tempting but they decide information is more valuable and people tends to slip up more intel when entering Central than entering Amagal territory. Central being the crossroad between other 3 countries make it a gold mine of intelligence. As Central being so open minded, it’s so easy for Amagal’s spies to infiltrate that they even suspected it’s a trap at first and couldn’t help but facepalm when they see Lady Akira has no sense of secrecy as she openly babbled about her job with her king in a public brothel. But of course, if Lady Akira can make their job easier by letting her operate her “secret” network and simply stealing the intel she collected, then all hail Lady Akira!
That's it for now. Other countries will be coming soon. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Edit: Add thumbnail picture and link to other countries
Authors note: Hi. These are some "fan lore" that made based on in-game contents as well as lots of stuffs that I headcanoned. They include detailed geopolitics, culture, military, and diplomatic opinions on other countries. There are also some in-game characters role-playing (in this case, King Merius). I've made 3 countries: Amagal, Begus, and Dorgania. Other countries will be posted in the future.
Also, stupid text limit forced me to separate each countries into different parts. I'll add link at the bottom.
Now lets begin, starts with Amagal
Amagal is usually known either as “a great magic country” or “an isolationist country full of lunatics”. Why are they so obsessed with magic? Why do they refuse to interact with other countries? Let’s view things from Amagal’s perspective and understand why they are the way they are.
Geography
Amagal has the least amount of territory & population compared to other 3 countries. Not only that, what little land it has is mostly filled with non-arable wasteland. Amagal knows they couldn’t compete with other countries with raw strength. That’s why magic means so much to Amagal. What they lack in quantity they must make up with quality. Fortunately, this land contains lots of special minerals that couldn’t be found anywhere else such as Purple ore and Orangium, both of which help greatly in their magic research.
Over the years the population in Amagal has been getting more and more concentrated around the capital Manastyr. This is actually good news for the royalties as they can easily govern the citizen directly without the need of nobles. As such the royalties were able to slowly get rid of nobles and established a centralized government. Of course, the nobles were furious, especially Earl Rotiart. This eventually culminated into Rotiart’s successful coup as Rotiart couldn’t have done it without the support of all those disenfranchised noble.
Politics, Economy & Culture
Due to Amagal’s sorry geography, magic is their only hope of survival. People are willing to follow any great mage who will lead them to prosperity even if they must make some sacrifices. And great mage they got, when a powerful, visionary, and ambitious new King Merius ascended to the throne.
Merius’s Reformation
My opponents call me a mad king while supporters call me a wise king. I care none of such petty squabbles as my attention lies somewhere far beyond. I am, unfortunately, one of the only few who understand magic isn’t just some tools that help you heal some wounds or burn some monsters; it is a philosopher’s stone that can transform human into something greater than what you can ever imagine. With my great magic it is my duty to help my species evolve! Even if it means they must endure the pain of shedding away old skins!
First, the food. Everyone said we have little land to farm, but who said farms need to be built on surface? Under Manastyr I have already established huge networks of underground farms by irrigating with water magic, fertilizing with earth magic and illuminating with magic natural lighting (same magic Water Spirit used to light her dungeon). I wasn’t lying when I promised people food during the “Rotiart” drought, you know. If other country invaded, we could sit in our capital wall with full belly and watch the besiegers starving themselves occupying those wastelands on the surface.
Then there’s the pride of our country: magical industry. I’ve semi-nationalized various magical technologies businesses but still gave them some freedom and encourage them to compete with each other to spark new magic ideas that can help the country. It’s OK if the new magic turned you into a chicken because failure is the mother of success. However, I have no intention leaking trade secrets to other countries. I’ve been carefully monitoring all exported magic items & fake gold to make sure no advanced magic can be reverse engineered and allowing only few trusted foreign traders to enter our country. The witch in pink hair once said her little sister want to have more chance shopping, but only a fool would teach our potential enemies how to beat us!
In Amagal, magical knowledge is everything. I’ve expanded our universal magic educations and can proudly confirm that Amagal has the least illiteracy rate in all 4 countries. But having lots of scholars is not enough because other countries could simply copy our education systems. The true reason why Amagal is way ahead in magical development is because of our willingness to experiment. I myself have been experimenting all kinds of things in my secret facilities. For science!
For example: How exactly does HP work? Does chopping off 5 grams of flesh from your leg decreases the same amount of HP as chopping off 5 grams from your brain? If I attach an extra arm on your body with surgery does your max HP increase? If I chop off your hand so you -100 HP but then heal you for 50 HP does that mean you’ll grow half a hand out of your wound? What will happen to the severed hand if I grow your hand back with healing magic? Can I harvest infinite meat if I repeat the process?
Other countries might find it morbid if they found out, but you can’t deny these experiments are crucial! How do you think Alfred Lambida wrote his magic dissertations that become the textbook of all magical academy in the world? He did it so others don’t have to dirt their hands!
No, too long we’ve let others leeching off our hard work. In the past other countries have been demanding us to share our magic with them and our idiotic former king, who’s under the manipulation of that pink hair witch, cowardly acceded. The knowledge we toiled to obtain was given away like charity to be used by other countries to compete with our magic item markets. Half of the magic industries in Amagal at that time went bankrupt and the passion of our inverters dowsed. Who wants to invent when your ideas will be given to others to steal your business? No more! After I brought the former king to justice in our succession duel, I’ve passed several patent laws to reignite our drive of innovations. I have also controlled almost every mage & citizen with purple dust so no more information can be leaked without my permission. You want to know? You have to pay.
But that’s not the only usage of purple dust. One of my many goals to evolve Homo sapiens is, with the help of magic & purple dust, connect every citizen’s conscious into a hive mind. Every knowledge we obtained will be shared with everyone instantly. Millions of discussions can be finished in mere seconds and trillions of new ideas popping up like stars in the sky. Imagine what we could achieve with such brainpower!
Of course, there are many uncultured swine who don’t like the process of evolution. Like that pink hair witch & the Earl “traitor-spelled-backward”. One is collared by her outdated morality while the other blinded by earthly greed, both are leashed by their short-sightedness and couldn’t see what lies in the future. Damn those conspirators who couped me! Humanity has a chance to transcend into something greater than gods and you squander it because you refuse to bear the pain of breaking out of your cocoon! Thankfully, the enlightened ones haven’t forgotten my word and rescued me. It’s time to remove Rotiart, the obstacle of the future of mankind! As for the pink hair witch… she & her sister did at least try to investigate my disappearance, so I’ll show mercy and let her live as long as she doesn’t get in the way of my reformation.
Before I wrap things up, let me ask you a question:
If your way of thought is different from everyone else, will you have the courage to admit your fault and strive to correct yourself? Or will you have the courage to stick to what is right and strive to correct the world?
Decent people will choose the former, but a genius will choose the latter! Genius is nothing more nor less than childhood recaptured at will. If you’re a genius, “decent people” will call you mad and childish, little realize how worthless they are compared to you. The world already has enough “decent people”! The world needs more genius! If you have an idea that you genuinely think is good, don’t let some idiot talk you out of it. Come to Amagal! Let me be the king who’s mad enough to hire you, and let yourself be the spark that changed the universe!

As a gun nut, I've been imagining how firearms in this fantasy world would look like. At first, I always thought guns in this world are arquebuses or other muzzleloaders that fit the late medieval era setting. But then, a small detail in Elly's new CG changed everything…
IS THAT A REVOLVER I SEE?! And that's only her "simple gun", the weakest gun in the game?! Looks like firearm technology in this world is more advanced than I thought. But how could that be? Almost no one uses guns anymore so there shouldn't be any financial incentive to develop such weapon…
Ah screw it! I'm gonna headcanon that whatever gunsmiths left in this world has been secretly developing firearm technology either as their hobby or to preserve their tradition! >:D
Simple Gun
A simple .357 revolver. The attachments need to be mounted with screws.
Improved Gun
Upgrade the frame to fire the more powerful .44 magnum. Also improve the grip for better handling
Accurate Gun
Installed a longer barrel with a compensator for better accuracy and stability. Also added Picatinny rails so it's easier to mount attachments.
Gold Gun
Paint the whole frame in gold and upgrade it to fire .500 S&W, a round so powerful that it can drop a grizzly bear with a single shot!
Rune Rifle
Even though it's called a "rifle". I decide to make it a smooth-bore dart gun since it's established that the runes it fires are fragile, and a rifled barrel could damage them. The runes are propelled with pressurized air, so they have a lower velocity and deals less damage compared to other bullets.
Steam Gun Mark 1.1
A steampunk machinegun. According to Akai, the automatic firing is achieved with the steam mechanism installed on the gun, not the gunpowder. As a result, the cartridges wouldn't need extra propellent thus can be made smaller, allowing the magazine to hold a surprisingly large number of rounds for its size.
Fire Musket
The gun itself is just a standard rifled musket. What makes it deal fire damage is the incendiary musket ball it fires. The specially designed bullet is filled with phosphorus powder and there's a tiny hole on the outer shell plugged with solder. As the bullet travels down the barrel the solder will melt under the heat, allowing the phosphorus powder to spill out of the hole and get ignited. The result will be a bullet with a trail of flames flying toward the enemy.
Burning Hand Cannon
Good old double-barrel shotgun with fancy hand guard & stock, firing a special "Dragon's Breath" incendiary shell. The shell is filled with magnesium pellets that burn REALLY hot. As you pull the trigger a jet of flames will erupt from your barrel, à la flamethrower, bathing your target in fire and cooking them to crisp.
Widowmaker
A shoulder-mounted railgun that deals pure physical damage. The Electric Flame spawned in fire dungeon was sealed inside the red flower crystal to serve as a battery through the piezoelectric effect. The electricity will run through the rails and propel the projectile with immense electromagnetic force, causing it to fly toward the target in Mach 6 and deal massive damage on impact. Meanwhile, the “spikes” on top will produce a force field which increases the user’s defense. The red flower crystals cast with damage reduction magic are used on the rails to conduct electricity and withstand wear. The scales from Salamander's tail are used to insulate the user from heat & electricity.
Frozen Nightmare
Special Sawn-off shotgun firing custom-made “freezing shells”. Instead of pellets, the shell is loaded with a slug carved out of dry ice, ready to give the targets some nasty frostbite on top of their wounds. While not in use, the dry ice slug is stored in a portable cooling box. The chamber of the gun is also cast with ice magic to help preserving the dry ice.
Cursed Rifle
A rifle that draws its power from a strange orb. Some theories suggest the orb is made by the same Undead Lord who's been plaguing Begus for years, but its true origin remains a mystery. The orb is filled with dark energy that couldn’t be harnessed by normal mages because the curse will pollute their flow of magic and devastate their mortal flesh. Therefore, the blacksmiths decided to install it on a weapon, but they soon found out the dark energy is so strong that it’ll slowly rot away the material it touches thus it’s not ideal to put it on melee weapons. In the end they finally found a solution: Putting it on an ammo case and having it curse the bullets. Bullets are more resilient against corrosion compared to arrows and are still expendable. If the case is rusted too much by the orb, the orb can be transferred to a new one which can be produced rather cheaply. Overall it's still not the most efficient way to utilize the orb's dark power, but it'll have to do.
Target Scope
A little beat up due to being kept in the dungeon for a long time. The performance is unhindered, however.
Nice Target Scope
A brand-new scope straight out of Akai's workshop.
Magic Target Scope
A scope utilizing target magic.
Flashlight Attachment
Just a tactical flashlight. That's it really.
Gun Mechanic Upgrade
Replacement parts made of special lightweight materials created by heating strange black liquid, which we Muggle call "plastic".
Flame Thrower Add-on
After some experiments, Akai discovered that by mixing Red Slime Essence with other combustible liquid, she can create a sticky flammable half-liquid which she nicknamed "napalm". This new substance turned out to be the perfect fuel for her miniature flamethrower that can be mounted on a handheld firearm. As napalm can stick to the target, even just a small amount of it spat out of this tiny sprayer can inflict some serious burn.
Water Tank Attachment
This miniaturized nozzle isn't just some water hole. The container is filled with highly pressurized water. The jet of water is so strong that it's even capable of cutting through steel plate!
Frozen Muzzle
Based on Akai’s design. But instead of flammable fuel, this contraption is filled with a special sticky liquid made by mixing Blue Slime Essence with liquid nitrogen, capable of freezing the target, dealing ice damage.
Muzzle Upgrade
This muzzle extension is mainly used to make other attachments like a muzzle brake and stuff. As it extends the barrel maybe it can improve the accuracy & velocity by juuuust a little bit, making each shot just a little bit more powerful. But hey, every bit counts.
Golden Muzzle
An advanced replacement barrel with polygonal rifling, painted in gold to show how awesome it is. Compared to traditional rifling, polygonal rifling provides a better gas seal and less friction for bullets, resulting in higher velocity & accuracy and thus increasing the damage.
That's it for now. I might add more in the future if there are more guns being added to the game. ;)
Here are some national flags I designed as fan art. Mostly based on the lore in the game plus a little headcanon of mine. Hope you'll like it! :D
Amagal takes pride in their magic, so it's only natural for them to emphasize such in the flag.
The color consists of purple, yellow, blue & red, which is also the color used by their soldier's uniform. Purple, the color of those magic ore, and the magic circle in the background represent that Amagal is the land of magic. The staff in the center, like a flower growing out of this land, represent all the great mages who grew up in Amagal. The two quills, like the "leaves" of the flower, represent these mages were nurtured by the all-around magical education of Amagal. Finally, the gem on top of the staff represents all the heroic magical achievement Amagal mages had bestowed upon this world.
The flag of Begus is designed based on their religious nature. The yellow light shooting in all directions represent God's blessing in this world. The stars represent the Angels while the octagons (minerals) represent the Dwarfs. The cross in the very center not only represents God himself but also represent Human since, in my headcanon, their religious teaching goes that “God created mankind in his own image”. That's why the cross has two additional "legs".
“…Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, to be like us. Let them be masters over the fish in the ocean, the birds that fly, the livestock, everything that crawls on the earth, and over the earth itself!” So God created mankind in His own image; in his own image God created them.”
Dorgania is a bit tricky because originally Dorgania didn't situate in where they are right now. Since I couldn't design their "original" flag without knowing how their "old" culture & environment is like, I can only headcanon that they changed their flag after they migrated & conquered their current home.
The monster on the flag is a combination of Dacian Draco, Sandworm, and Bahamut. Dacian Draco represents their military might. Sandworm represents their desert culture. Bahamut, a mythical sea monster from Arabic legend, represents their maritime culture in the north.
Dorgania flag may look rather bland compared to other countries. This is intentional because judging from the lack of decoration in their palace you can see Lancafew royalties are a pragmatic bunch who wouldn't bother with extravagance. I can imagine they would rather keep their flag design simple so they're cheap to produce since they're in a place where flags can easily be damaged by color fading from the desert sun or got torn during the constant battle with monsters on their western border.
Central's flag contains the most color, which represents their colorful environment and various kinds of species who are welcomed there.
I can imagine the difficulty of ruling a country with the most resources but lacking a strong military to defend them, especially when surrounded by envious neighbors. The half-dragon, half-dove represents the wish of all rulers of Central: having the strength to crush the enemy but also the diplomatic wisdom to maintain peace, neither overly idealistic as Begus nor overly materialistic as Dorgania. The six-color scale/feather on the body represents 6 of the most crucial regions in Central: Aldylen, Parverhill, Witton, Calbridge, Thremten-Red Keep region, and Havana-Acadamy region. The yellow lines in the background represent "All roads lead to Central" since Central is the literal crossroad between the neighboring countries.
The beer you bought from the bar can NOT be used in country map.
Here's how you produce beer in country map:
1. Research "brewery" in your lab
2. Upgrade the farm near Adlyen twice (first potato, then grain)
3. Make sure you have bought Bitterroot farm, then upgrade it twice (first grape, then hops)
4. Build the malthouse near Bitterroot farm and upgrade it to brewery.
Congrats, you're now slowly producing beer. Just wait a few turns until you have enough to trade.
First bug:
After I brought Meilira some monster girls for the first time, her spirit disappeared during the dialogue. After the dialogue everything went back to normal.
Second bug:
This isn't really a bug. I just think Kayelinth should call Ryen "Mama" instead of his name here.
And now some questions:
Q1: Will we see new CG drawn by FoxyKuro in the future? I love her art style!
Q2: If I have some fan arts I want to share in the future, can I just post them here or should I send them to any specific site?
Q3: I'm just curious. How do you came up with the name "Amagal", "Begus" and "Dorgania"? Is there any special meaning or it's just some random names?
Sorry for asking. I just love this game so much that I want to know more about it.
I believe coming up new playstyles to make new commanders unique is as hard as designing their appearance. My suggestion here is mainly intended to share my ideas on new playstyles that can fit the current war system. The unit I mentioned in example is just that, an example, and doesn't need to be taken too seriously.
1. Glass cannon cavalry:
The melee cavalry designed to hit enemy hard and quickly move away instead of staying in the front line.
Example: Hussar
Compared to Magdalene, Hussars have less armor & HP but more attack and 1 more AP, plus they start with a passive ability that allow them to move after every attack. They can easily one-shot lone enemy unit, but make sure they have enough space & AP to move back before they charge into groups of enemy or they'll be destroy.
Upgrade 1: Maneuvering training (Increase 1 AP + enemy can't counter after your attack)
Upgrade 2: Wedge formation (Increase ATK)
Upgrade 3: Heroic Charge (Gains an active ability "Heroic Charge", a strong melee attack that deals 20% extra damage, cost 0 AP and can move after using, but will also increase your damage taken by 50% for the next enemy turn)
2. Tank + long range
A front line unit that can both tank damage and hit enemy long range units hiding behind if needed to.
Example: Legionary
Melee tank with high armor & HP but low damage. After the upgrade they'll gain a long range ability to either soften the upcoming soldiers or hitting those nasty archers/mages hiding behind.
Upgrade 1: Pilum (Gains an active ability "Javelin", a long range attack that cost all the remaining AP)
Upgrade 2: Testudo (Increase DEF)
Upgrade 3: Reserve (Gains an active ability "Reserve Swapping", heals 50% HP, can only be used once per battle)
3. Long range duelist:
A bit like "Tank + long range" but more focused on attack. They're long range units but with some armor that helps them survive enemy archers or can be used as "emergency front line" if enemy breached your tank.
Example: Crossbowman
They wear medium armor that makes them less squishy than most long range units and can deal respectable long range damage. But the overall DPS is a bit less than Ailluin & Jessy in late game.
Upgrade 1: Pavise shield (Increase DEF & M.DEF)
Upgrade 2: Arbalest (Increase ATK)
Upgrade 3 : Fortification (Gains an active ability "Fortification" that works like Worilla's version)
4. Debuffer:
A mage that, instead of dealing damage directly, specialize in decreasing enemy's stat from far behind. Especially useful against high level enemy.
Example: Witch
They have less attack than fully upgraded Bristol, but they'll gain the ability to "curse" the enemy to make them squishier or prevent them from hurting your ally.
Upgrade 1: Stamina Exhaustion (Gains an active ability "Curse attack" that -20% enemy ATK, cost 1 AP and has 4 tiles range, each enemy unit can only be applied once)
Upgrade 2: Armor Corrosion (Gains an active ability "Curse defense" that -20% enemy DEF & M.DEF, cost 1 AP and has 4 tiles range, each enemy unit can only be applied once)
Upgrade 3: Potent curse (Increase the effect of every curses)
5. Late game powerhouse:
At first they're extremely weak and upgrading them cost more resources than usual. Once they're fully upgraded, however, they'll become absolute monster.
Example: Musketman (I'll say it again, this is just a example. You can always replaced it with other units if you have other plans for guns.)
They only have light armor and their basic attack is short range bayonet that deals low damage. They start with active ability "Fire!", long rang attack that deals 2x ATK damage but cost 2 AP and can't move afterward. Upgrading them cost 2X more resources but once you do, they'll become your best DPS units, even better than Ailluin & Jessy!
Upgrade 1: Shoot-and-Scoot (Allow them to move after using "Fire!" ability)
Upgrade 2: Refined powder ("Fire!" now deals 3X ATK damage)
Upgrade 3: Speed loader ("Fire!" now cost only 1 AP and can be used twice per turn)
I hope my ideas gives you some inspirations. :)
