This was so much fun! Great game. I know some people didn't like the movement, but I actually liked it. You have to use it to kite enemies in the beginning, flicking your mouse back and forth.
Awesome game!
Wow thank you so much for the feedback!! I really appreciate those points and I'll be sure to add them after the jam . I made the tekst slow sort of intentionally to give the player more time to get to the next prop, as my only trial run was struggling with the platforming.
You're one of the first one not to say the platforming is too hard, props to you!
Really appreciate the encouragement. I didn't have time to polish, but the fact that you think the idea is unique and fun means a lot :)
Wow... I am so surprised that this game doesn't have more attention! That was a complete experience and was so much fun!
I got an 85%, pretty good!
Seriously cool game, the worldbuilding, the mechanics, the graphics, it was a really fun experience. Would definitely like to see this as a finished game!
For feedback, it needs a tutorial, and I'd recommend having the objective turned on by default.
But wow, this was awesome. Great job.
Hey this was super fun, holy heck the gun was so loud!
I made it to level 5 but then my gun stopped doing damage to the enemies... not sure if it was a bug or that's just the end of the game. I shot them like 1000 times but they wouldn't die at the end.
Also, the shooting feedback was cool but there was no indication that I actually hit the enemies, I think a sound effect or a stun or something would go a long way.
With that, great job and I loved the music and animations :)
Hey this was really fun! The use of light was really interesting, and the later levels were pretty hard (having to remember where the platforms were). Felt good to finally get it!
Also really loved that your start menu had little playground areas but I couldn't get to the end of some of them... are there secrets there that are worth more attempts?
The character controller felt really smooth and I'm curious how you did it (especially the jump). Felt great.
For feedback, I'd say that there were some points where I was "walking" in darkness but really I was just pressed up against the wall. There were some points of the game that you do have to just hold down right and make it through the darkness after 3-4 seconds, so I did that pointlessly a few times where I wasn't on the right path.
Having a tiny character outline or some indication that you aren't actually moving would make those parts less frustrating.
With that, great job! Especially in 6 days.
Hey, thank you so much for checking it out and for the feedback!
Glad that the idea was fun enough for you to still enjoy the game, there's definitely some problems with the difficult platforming, mixed with the dialogue being "read-only". I didn't have anyone playtest during development, but it's clear that there's a design flaw as you can't focus on the dialog and the difficult platforming at the same time... Lesson learned!
I'll definitely be making some changes to it that make it more intuitive after the judging period.
Really valuable feedback, thanks a lot :)
Man, I don't know if it's a skill issue but I cannot survive long enough to be able to fend off these guys! I've only been able to get to level up 2 times before I die...
Really fun! Just wish I could make it a bit further. Seems like my character moves too slowly to be able to fend them off at the beginning.
Wow, this was really impressively fun. It's sad that the last scene had a double song going as I could tell it would hit differently with the ending soundtrack!
The enemies, the movement, the combat, the sounds, all super great and polished. The only things I was going to suggest were the fall pits, the camera and the dash hitbox, but you've already listed it.
Great game, well done!
Wow you brought up so many good points, thank you for the feedback!
Tbh I think the player movement is very difficult and definitely takes some getting used to.
The fact that you were trying to pay attention to the dialogue and that caused you to fail is HUGE feedback because that is definitely a design problem. Will definitely take that into consideration when I smooth it over after the jam.
Thanks so much for leaving feedback and for playing :)
Wow, such a good game. The mechanics are simple & satisfying, the boss was fun, holy cow how did you make this in 2 weeks by yourself??
As a fellow solo dev you should be super proud. It feels really polished.
The only suggestion is that the enemies (besides the boss) are super non-threatening since you can spam attack. If you continue working on this (hope you do!) maybe introduce a cooldown on attack or just a different enemy type... I dunno but great job!
Ahhhh. I cast a spell but then just ran to the end. Waited this time and killed enemies as they came.
I like the spell mechanic a lot, but I think it would be better if it didn't move the camera around while you're doing the pattern, as it gets a bit disorienting.
Maybe if you had to hold down click or something while you're drawing the pattern which would also hold the screen still... I dunno!
