DominicanR ---> Dominican Republic (though idk if that's because the name can only be a certain number of characters or whatever)
Dr Congo ---> D.R. Congo (You could also do D.R.C.)
Tunnisia ---> Tunisia
Phillipines ---> Philippines (one L, double P, instead of double L, one P)
Cabo Verde ---> Cape Verde
"neighbours" ---> neighbors (when it says a country was divided up by its neighbors)
That's all for now. I'll let you know if I find more!
Thanks <3 i've already changed Dominican republic, Tunisia and Philippines and neighbors in the update i'm currently developing.
i will prob change dr congo to D.R Congo because i wanna keep calling it doctor congo when i say it out laud xD.
as pointed out already by others uintah and turkiye is the correct spelling of those 2.
also cabo verde based on my own knowledge (my knowledge can be 100% wrong i'm sadly not a expert on every single country and province in the world) cape verde prefair to be called cabo verde but both versions are ok.
Thanks for the feedback it helped alot <3
I'm using unity to make the game and from what i know they sadly don't got any options to make a chrome os build.
BUT i will soon try to make the game playable on the site, so aslong as you got a game browser that supports it (i know that google chrome does) you should be able to play it then if it isn't too demanding
i'd love to add some form of scenario editor.
i think i read somewhere someone requested a create your own nation thingy and i think ima do something like that where you can write a name and each province clicked gets given to that name/country.
only problem is that i'm not smart enough to make a way where people can save their custom scenarios so you'd prob not be able to play the same scenario 2 times
How is your default scenario saved? through tags? In that case you probably will spend a good time trying to save it. I don't know how unity works but maybe you can use a File writer class that writes the province (ID?) and the country created when the scenario is saved and a file reader class that just reads the scenario to load it.
Yea it's saved with each province having right now around 4 or 5 diffrent tags saying what culture it is, province, country and more.
i could prob make a code that saves all edited provinces in a list and then another that places the new tags out again. just gatta find time and figure out how exactly to do it
I don't think it's possible to make a easy way to mod the actual map, buut i will next week be looking into making it possible to edit and create your own countries, cultures, provinces and easter egg nations and saving them, that save file should be possible to be shared to others if you keep the name and location as the same.
I will also look into making the start of the game more customizable to get more varied games. one example is adding more countries provinces and letting you choose exactly what countries should be divided
Hi! When a country expands, it should prioritize getting back its original territory (if it has lost some). I makes more sense for a nation to try to get back original lands that was taken.
If a country has an empire and loses land, it should be less likely to lose original lands than the ones they colonized.
It has not happened recently, but at the end when there's like 2-3 nations left, the bigger one should have a higher chance to win. Idk its weird and seems not deserved when a microstate annexes the whole world to pull out the win.
Martinique is misspelled as Martinque
I really enjoy the game, I think it would be cool if you made a USA only gamemode, or even eventually make one for all countries. Also it would be easier to make a keybinds option. If you have extra time, I think it would be awesome to add flags in the selected and/or event boxes. Once again, great game!
For cultures, I would make New-Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island as one single culture. You could call it Maritimes, it is how it is refered here in Canada.
When playing with provinces on, the Northern part of Maine is called USA which seems off. Same for Puerto Rico being just USA.
At some point it would be fair to make less provinces for smaller islands or more provinces for some continental places. For example, Nunavut has 67 provinces and Greeland 19 despiste being similar sizes. It makes Nunavut more vulnerbale to events related to coastlines and less vulnerbale to be completely erased from the map. The same could be said when you compare Panama with 15 provinces and Québec culture with only 5 or comparing Brasil with 32 and Chile with 49.
I am curious by how you dicided to divide the world and countries into provinces? Do you aim to make every province with a similar size, a similar population or a similar development?
dividing the larger provinces is something i really wanna do and prob will soon,
when making the original map i basically whent by trying to follow real state borders while also making all provinces roughly the same size,
At the same time i wanted as many islands as posible to have their own provinces because in my head it makes more sence sknce historically alot of islands was taken by other countrys that didn’t always make the most sence geographically
Some ideas I like:
-Modding capability (I know everyone is talking about this, i've read every reply so I can tell how annoying it can be, but it'd be really cool)
-Selective independence (At the start of the game you could have a list to choose which countries are independent and not)
-Formables (When certain countries get a certain percent of certain provinces, they can change their name to a different one, like Italy forming the Roman Empire)
-Deformables (Like formables, but all countries inside a formable become independent.)
-Larger = Harder to annex (Make it so the larger a country is the harder it is to annex by one single country)
-Mouse dragging (Let the camera be moved by the mouse)
-Change "Ivory Coast" and "East Timor" to "Cote 'd Ivoire" and "Timor-Leste" respectively (don't actually know if you've already done this, but these are the official names of the countries)
Formables ideas:
Korea (North Korea or South Korea)
Soviet Union (Russia)
Ottoman Empire (Turkiye)
European Union (All of the EU Member states)
UK (If deformed, England, Scotland or Wales)
USA (If deformed, all US states and Puerto Rico can form this)
Roman Empire (Italy)
Byzantine Empire (Greece)
Arabia (Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Yemen, Oman or the UAE)
Central American Union (Guatamala, Honduras, El Salvador or Nicaragua)
Caribbean (All of the countries in the Caribbean)
Baltic Union (Latvia, Lithuania or Estonia)
Scandinavia (Sweden, Finland, Norway or Denmark)
Iberia (Portugal or Spain)
China (PRC or ROC)
This is just a list of my formable ideas, but so many more countries from world history could be added, even fake countries or regions could be added as formables! Yeah this is pretty ambitious ngl.
Also love your game! Very cool, five stars.
This game is awesome, but the camera zoom is hard to watch. Instead of zooming back out to show the whole map every process, have the camera zoom in and pause until the next event large enough to warrant attention, then pan over and zoom out/in as needed. This should make it way less jerky and consistent. You also get to spend more time zoomed in on a part of the map taking it all in.
thx so much
alliances, if Germany attacked Poland. Poland could call their ally Sweden to help!
a USA mode where the 50 states fight.
Scotland, wales and northern Ireland could become independent.
1918,1939,1750 time periods ext.
Historical battles such as D-Day, the allies start off with only Britain and french coast they must push forward to recapture Paris.
Nukes, rarely used. In the last moments of Britain, Russia ext. they have a chance of launching a nuke at the aggressor.
WW2 and WW1 scenarios.
American civil war/ revolution scenario.
add the ability for countries like Russia to invade Alaska as this can cause more interesting scenarios.
Puppet states.
colonization of Antarctica.
Some of these are hard to make without a large team but the 3 this game needs in my opinion are :
allies
ww2 and ww1 borders
puppet states.
thank you,
For the destruction update. I'm really enjoying the "Collapse" feature, however I am personally not a fan of the "Nuked". The reason being is the big brown splotches all over the map when it happens enough times. Maybe a nuked area, I guess for lack of better term healing over say 5-10 turns might be (just my opinion btw) better.
*Nevermind, just saw in the Discord that nuked or unclaimed land will slowly begin to be colonized*
Please add a way to disable nukes. I think they're cool and random sometimes, but other times I think they're a bit of a hinderance.
Also can you perhaps find a better way for the AI to take territory? A little funny it has the HOI4 issue where some territory takes a majority of the land before another power can, but the other power is guaranteed a piece of land so they take one that is completely disconnected from them
You should add a thing where there is rebels that can pop up and they will be like a separate country but all rebels are under one. Another thing to add could be an Easter egg of Indochina(As a separate nation from France), EU, NATO, Spanish empire, Portuguese Empire, I forgot if this in the game but that would be cool if there was a chance for Hong Kong to be separate from China, Papal States, and finally Austria-Hungary.
the game uses a de facto map of the world, this is due to every country having its own de jure map of the world so someone would always complain no matter what de jure map i choose.
i personally do not support those countries but i included them to have a fair and true representation of who controls what land
phone version would take a lot of time that i currently don't have, also i don't own or know anyone with a android that i could play test with, and i don't got enough money to just buy multiple phones sadly :/
while there could be a phone version in the far far future, it most likely won't be anytime soon
