On the Windows desktop build, I did as follows.
I interacted with this, read it, closed the message (clicking close), and then got stuck in here (shown below - it's a screenshot of where I got stuck, and it's near the beginning of the game).
Moving any direction plays the animation but does not move the character anymore, as if stuck between four walls.
I guess I might try the game again from the beginning sometime later if I have time.
However I might skip rating the game for now.
It looks like it could be really fun, so I might ignore this detail if I end up rating the game later, if it's the only one, in case it might be affecting just me, and in case I end up getting an ending and really liking the game. From what I saw so far it looked like I might like it. I just wrote this for now in case it may help you for improving on bugs. I probably don't want to rate the game at all until I played it again and probably got at least one ending.
Thanks for the feedback! This is a nasty one, I probably messed it up by making the notes rigidbodies, even I got stopped by them sometimes - not stuck, this is the first time I hear something like this - so this needs to be investigated further. Also, thanks for the fair judgement, I hope the next time you play, there will be no problems :)
I really enjoyed the aesthetics and setting of this game! Storywise MIGHT BE too on the nose for what it was going for??? But I havent been able to discover the 3rd Ending to fully be able to render this judgement (Basically did the Passive and Aggressive route, without giving out any spoilers) But it was still very well executed! Ambience and Sound Effects were on point and top notch as well.
This is a solid entry and honestly a great well done!
As for a small bug report; In the HTML version, sometimes the draw distance starts getting wierd, rendering off even the player character, and while the out of bounds areas are clearly marked, they arent blocked off well. A curious player (like myself) can easily navigate between the tall buildings and find themselves outside of that circle.
Thanks for the feedback - and also the bug report :) Also, I'm glad you liked it :)
That's a huge project! It looks like a collaboration between Diablo, Don't Starve and many other devs. A lot of other submissions revolve around one or few simple mechanics and ideas. This game is different because there are just too many sides. The gameplay changes between exploring (swimming), fighting, revealing the story (lore), and completing the quest. Graphics is both 2D and 3D. The game seems to include a bit of everything. If completed and polished to a single style, that would be an impressive game.
Thank you so much :)
Very cool atmosphere and presentation. A little hard to navigate without already knowing where to go but it was fun to uncover the clues and find the mementos, definitely picking up some silent hill inspiration and the whole game is quite moody. Some of the deaths felt fairly punishing and I experienced a few little bugs and crashes, but I really enjoyed my time with it. If the sound design were a little more polished, I think it'd help a lot. For example the sfx disappearing before they have a chance to fade out feels quite jarring. Overall this is one of my favorite entries yet and it's quite ambitious too. Great work.
Thank you for the feedback, and I'm glad you like it :) Unfortunately, sound is not my strong suit, and I also left it for last, so it did not recieve the polish it deserved - I also slowly learn how to do it, I'm quite new to this type of creation (I made a lot of small stuff testing things, but I only started like 6-7 months ago.
Cool game! I really like the art that you did :)
Thank you so much :)
Yoooo this game is really cool... I like the ambience and atmosphere of the game, it's super unsettling and creepy. The sound effects were also incredibly spooky, though they are quite too loud sometimes... I really like the story of the game, (Spoiler Alert?) what I'm getting at is that this guy is in a endless loop of some sort, leaving behind notes for himself and wants to bring back his memories? I like the photo thing, but on the first play through since you had to get 3 black sploches to complete the photo, it didn't really make sense, until I played through the second time for the third ending and got the family picture, which was really neat. I don't know how to get the 2nd ending tho, but noentheless incredibly captivating. If I had a complaint it would be the sea monsters... they really don't much to the overall story or gameplay or the game but punishes you heavily if you fail... But other than that, great work man!
Thank you for the feedback! I'm glad you liked it :) Your thoughts on the story are kind of spot on, too. The second ending can be achived by combining the first and the third: remembering some people, killing some of the monsters. It's a halfway between the good and bad endings.
On the sea monsters... I wanted some threat on the waters too, but the punishment could indeed be a little more leinient.
Pretty cool game, I like the mix of 2 and 3d graphics, and the fact it has 3 endings is really neat. I found the framerate to be very low on my computer sadly.
Great work creating an expansive experience!
Thanks for the feedback! I also experienced a low framerate in the HTML version, tried to fix it, but maybe Godot does not like to export 3D games to HTML.
looks great
the opening, perspective, ambiance is very nice and good looking !
that with the "ending" text really gives me want to play !
but idk where i should go
dont know also how to climb that knid of ladder
(also no one is gonna read all your papers)
Thanks for the feedback! That ladder is fake, only scenery:) (Or more accurately a reuse of an asset I used for making ther maps, only tilted)
On the papers, I hope somebody will, I'm primary a writer and did not found a better way to convey information during the time limit, so I put the crutial details into those.
