Cool water effects! Nice job!

Submitted

A lot of cool concepts being used in tandem - would love to see these ideas be made into a full game!

It's cute, I liked it,

Look very nice . Very impressive water ripple !

This seems like an impressive tech demo instead of a game jam game, which is interesting in its own way. Curious how the water would look without the pixel art/shader. Maybe with a stylised shader instead.

The baby duck is so cute! Great job on this, the water effect is really cool.

baby duck!

man this is surprisingly interesting for such a simple experience, it got me thinking about how the hell did you do them water ripples so pixely lol

poor duck thinks the ball is its mother

Thanks! 2D water algorithm is from here, I just changed a few coefficients tbh

The effect of the water and the sound it makes when you click is so satisfying. The only thing was the sound the baby duck makes, with head phones on it was a little shrill but all in all this was a cool sandbox.

Haha, thanks

love the sounds and the water effect! very cool that you made this just with html, css and javascript!

Really cool how you implemented Worley noise!

There are many tutorials for caustics in Blender on the internet, but the hardest part was to find how to loop it. Got the idea from here. Will attribute other ideas to their authors a bit later when I have time to organize it.

Nice job for your first game simulator :)

I don't know why but it made me feel a little sad

Developer(+1)

It's a little sad in real life too, because ducklings think you are their real mother, and they become anxious when you get away or eventually leave them alone at farm (with other ducklings). The sound I used is probably a call of a duckling for their mother; when they are relaxed they chirp differently. But it's a growing process for both ducklings and children they are attached to. Don't treat animals like playthings, that is what my whole game could also be about.

Pretty simple with not so much content, but it looks nice. Maybe you can ex[and those and add more ducks or something like that :)) I can't call this a game but maybe you can add it to the wallpaper engine and play with that duck on your desktop, it would be fun

Good job on your first game!

There is currently not much to it mechanically, but I think you got a great base. It reminds me a lot of Hey Pikachu on the N64 where you would direct another creature to do things you wanted it to, but in this case only movement is available. I'm sure you can add something like the duck picking up stuff and putting it somewhere + a score and that'd be a fun game :)

PS: Amazing job on the water sound, pretty accurate

Developer

Thanks for a kind comment! It will be hard to make a better game about a farm animal than the Untitled Goose Game, but I may try adding some gameplay in the future

The effects are great but i dont know if i could call this a game?

Developer(+1)

Yeah, probably more like a duckling simulator. Was educational and interesting to create though :)
