Would like to have the feedback when you take damage be a bit more obvious as a lot of the time I didn't notice when I was getting hit.

Awesome! I think a rework to the look or size of the bullet is needed, it's hard to tell what's a star flying by and what's a bullet at times.
It's a nice little game, but it was a little hard to distinguish the bullets from the background
You are correct. Make the bullets bigger maybe?
