Just tried your game and completed it, really cool card deck style! Only issue I had and I presume it was not meant to be the case but I could use every spell I was given? Some spells were tagged as forgotten if not used but i was able to just use them all anyway, other than that issue the game was really nice start to finish, if expanded upon it would no doubt be an incredible game!
the StS influence sure shows which isnt a bad thing, i feel with the forget mechanic you could make an interesting and unique game loop if given a more-than-a-game-jam dev time. however some spells felt a little... too similar ?like, were they any weakness/rsistance implied ? or the feedback was rather hard to gauge it outside of value changes. But yeah, a nice use of the theme and all !

Weaknesses and resistances is something that is part of the idea but we had to cut it because of time. :D
We are currently working on fleshing the idea out more and restructuring everything. ( the code is a mess LOL )
The plan is to work on this more.
The game was very fun! My only problem was that there was never a reason not to use a card.

Kinda confusing as there were no animations or something to explain that you just got hurt or how the hell I just lost.

Yeah we figured it would confuse people it even confuses us sometimes still. But work on damage animations is on the todo list after a small tutorial.

Yes. Slay the Spire is a big influence on this project, along with others for what we want to do. Like Darkest Dungeon and Backpack Hero.
I suck at these kinds of games but played through a few times and eventually got the hang of it, good job on this!
It turns out you can choose cards from the bar with icons. At first I thought that these were my resources. But I beat the game on the 3rd try! Nice track! Cool, thanks.
YES! :D you can choose your two starting spells from any of the schools. By clicking the spell icons. Those lists should also populate with further spells if you kill the boss with any of the unknown spells.
We wish we had had some time to make a small tutorial. Work has already started on it!
