This is a really cool idea! Super fun, great job guys!
Tysm! Glad you enjoyed :D
Whenever i boot up the game this is the only thing i see. Is this just me?
Hmm weird, this seems to be just you, maybe old drivers?
This was a unique and entertaining concept! I don't think this was intentional, but I had a lot of fun using my bullets to build momentum and jump higher.
Thank you! This was intentional! I love weapons with movement mechanics.
Very nice idea and game.
Love the idea of the different abilities and painting the terrain. Music sound and art are lovely.
This is a hard game and that is just fine.
Very Good job!
Thank you so much for the kind words and I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you! Graphics programming is one of my favorite topics, so this opportunity to do some crazy post processing was super fun! Erasable did an amazing job on the art too!
Really cool game! I really like the art style and mechanics in this
Thank you!
Super cool game. Very challenging. I love the music and the sound effects! I'm finding it difficult to wall climb... must be a skill issue! But I'm getting good at killing the mobs... Love the random procedural generation - makes it so much fun... the game is always different!
Thank you! I like to take any excuse to make procedural generation, fun to code and fun to play!
Great menu, it fits thematically and adds to the overall experience. Super cool concept. I like the simple character mechanics (move and shoot) layered into the much more complex world. It keeps it very interesting while not being overwhelming.
Thank you so much! Big thanks to Erasable for the menu! Last jam we had issues with bad movement, so we tried to improve this time, glad to hear its (a bit) better lmao
Great idea but performance kills it.
I have a MacBook Pro with M3 Max (almost the highest Apple laptop configuration) and this WEB version of the game was sadly too laggy, like unplayable for me. I wasn't able to finish the tutorial due to the horrible lagging. In a normal game I was fine until the first effect appeared, then it was unplayable again. I hope it was just an issue on my side. Tried Chrome, tried Safari.
The controls were not optimized for a browser. The "press ESCAPE to continue" kept getting me out of the full-screen, I had to use the ESC again and go back to full-screen.
EDIT:
Tested again the Windows native version on a virtual Windows on my MacBook and it was without issues. So yeah, the web version was somehow broken.
Really cool game! Nice graphics, great idea, very challenging.
Sorry to hear that! We tested on multiple computers and phones, with smooth 60FPS so it’s weird that Mac doesn’t. Likely unity running an emulation layer. The game is designed for desktop, and we added web version for accessibility, so apologies for the unoptimised controls.
Edit: I wonder if an emulation layer meant your M3 GPU cores weren’t actually being used.
Update: the shaders do not work in web build. For now I have disabled web version, but after the jam we will try make a mac version!
Updated my comment and my rating :)
Tysm! Hope you enjoyed :D
This was really cool!
Thanks!
The controls are a little janky, but the rest of the game is great.
Thanks! 2D controllers are a deceptively deep topic lol, each game we make we try to upgrade the system, still room to improve for sure!
I love the dynamic generation of the world. It's really hard to survive.
Cool idea
Thank you! Procedural generation is one of my favorite topics! Used both in the terrain and the custom effect shaders.
