The gameplay loop is really fun and addictive! The sound effects and music are catchy and charming! I like the old school graphics but they tend to get dizzying after some time. Overall really good though : )

I dunno why but it wrote my comment 3 times

Thanks for your comment! I was worried about the game being a bit too dizzying. I will try to work on that once the jam is over.

I liked the approach to the combat system, it's simple but catchy. The sound effects and music fit in really nicely. And the game loop progression is also well-adjusted. Great job!

the most normal risk of rain 2 gameplay ive ever seen.

though hooooly im shocked at how hooked i am at this gameplay loop, i never thought i needed a 3d vampire survivors game until now! as a huge fan of risk of rain 2 and someone who has an embarrassing amount of hours in vampire survivor like games, this hits all the right spots for me. when i first entered the game, i was confused why i couldn't move at first and wasn't sure if i liked the auto movement, but after that first kill it clicked and i was invested! i was dodging and weaving trying to get hits in, screaming at my little guy to move out of the way as i painstakingly watched the enemy's attack bar filled up. the intensity of this game is unreal. you feel so weak in the beginning, which makes it all the more worth it once you turn into a literal god, seeing everything being destroyed at your wake. such a fun game loop!

the audio design also gives me life. the sfxs are so crunchy and impactful, making every action have weight to it. especially the hit sfx paired with the hit vfx/particles are sooooo nice! i like the low res guys too, simple but the different color variety makes them pop out pretty well! the game could use a bit of visual clarity to help makes thing clearer (the health bar gets so big near the end that it makes the screen look like the static scanlines you see in old crts xd), but the hecticness of the ui is also charming in of itself in my opinion.

in terms of gameplay, this personally just ticks all the rights spots for me and my monkey brain, might be the most fun gameplay ive seen in the jam right now! unfortunately i couldn't reach 1000 like the previous commenter, im just a 540 score plebeian, but might go back to it sometime later! really fun stuff, hope you continue working on this a bit more!

Thank you so much for your wonderful comment. It really means a lot to me that you had fun! I am considering improving it more once the jam has concluded.

this is a ridiculous game. in fact it's awful and kind of an eyesore. that being said i enjoyed this game a lot and like it very much, and so actually spent some hours trying to get to 1000.

in the end i would say this is more fun than most of the entries but the relationship with the theme, although funny, is tenuous and underdeveloped.

Developer

Thanks! I'll consider working on it more after the jam!
