-Played the earlier broken demo for awhile... now I have the new version. Also, please stop baiting me with options I don't have. It makes me peeved that I can't change my audio or window settings when you lie and have a button for it.
-Going through tutorial, it's intuitive enough. Though, after saving at the first save point I jumped and tried to attack the star from beneath and it caused this crash:
-When loading that save, the platform to be able to reach the star disappears until you save the game or re-enter the room. Maybe that's intended, but you can actually trigger the bossfight from jumping from the stairs of the doorway... Also, I did the crash again and it seems to happen from pressing UP at the top of your jump, where previously you were standing on the save point(if you jump over the save point from the side it doesn't cause a crash).
-If you quit to menu then press continue or new game, it will keep playing the menu music.
-I made some money then played stacker, when you lose you can spam the button and it won't end until all the sounds stop playing, kind of funny. Seems too hard, the skeeball is doable. Though, I'll stop for now since I don't know how many tickets I need to redeem stuff. Also, needing a prompt to exit the redeem screen feels unnecessary.
-Did the side quest of finding the blacksmith, so now I head to the sewer.
-Undead fish that crawls up the waterfall is a bit annoying, two times now I move too fast and am standing on where it will spawn, and so it just contact damages me before I notice it.
-First real boss, it feels kind of arbitrary that after fighting the science guy phase that then the attacks get way stronger/different. Maybe a power up animation or something, since the mech being a little brighter isn't immediately obvious. And the tells don't feel great, considering how different the attacks can be. Also, it's slightly aggravating how after the punch is done and it is still, if you walk into the boxing mitt you still get contact damage.
-Beat the boss after a few more tries, after getting the gist of it it wasn't too bad. Though I will say that it almost feels out of place, given how the enemies are so sparse before this point, and are just goombas you bash in with no trouble.
-I seem to have no more music... maybe from dying to the boss? I load my save after restarting the game, and I notice that I don't spawn with all my HP, which is odd since saving heals you(I saved my game after getting hit by the fish enemy).
-This running away section feels a bit tight, basically any mistake in a bubble jump means you will die.
-Got to the end, and it's a neat idea for a boss arena. However, I then died in 15 seconds and I don't want to replay the same running gauntlet every time just to be killed over and over.
It's a fairly fun demo, and polished in the visual sense, but it doesn't feel very special in the gameplay as of yet. Keep up the good work.
The game has a lot of soul and i really do like the vibe. But i have a lot of frustrations with the controls and I got pretty mad at the end. The fish enemies that spawn, give you zero time to react as they spawn just underneath the bridge. The rat chase sequence could do with a bit of forgiveness. I found out you could get the game to fullscreen around the end of my play through. Controller support is a must. ZXC + arrow keys feel awful to play with.
The pixel art is gorgeous and the music is amazing.
The bossfight that spawns a dark(er) version of you was over in a couple of hits which felt wrong and then I made it all the way back to the starting area like Smith tells you but there's nothing there. I suppose that's where the shrinking part is supposed to be because I saw a small corridor nearby. Is that the end of the demo or is there something I'm missing? The version is Yatpig(1) btw.
Some feedback: Not the biggest fan of the save system, I feel like the game might benefit from checkpoints so that you don't need to walk back to boss areas, or at least put a save point just before the rat chase sequence. If you save at red save points you get full health but if you load that save you won't have full HPs, saving twice solves this but it's counter intuitive. After you get the rat pawn you can jump down instead of getting in the elevator and you'll come up in the scientist boss room but the character is out of bounds. Had to reload the last save to get out. Rolling feels clunky because it moves you in the direction the character is facing instead of the direction you're holding,
If there's more I'd be happy to play it, the game is fun.
I added the red save points a few hours before dd opened up because I thought people might find the fights too hard, so the system isn't fully fleshed out.
I'll fix the bug you ran into, and are all your feedback are great points, I'll apply them to the next iteration
Really great art/vibes and humor. But I got stuck pretty quick and couldn't figure out where to go. Got stuck at the bottom of the matrix area - restarted the game. Then got stuck at the firewall - couldn't flip the switch. Wanted to see more, but my low IQ prevented that.
Completed the demo, I think. I didn't find the final place where I was supossed to go. Video:
I have seen videos from this game for ages so I was really looking forward to try out this game. Amazing pixel art and animation. I loved how the main character moved and how the boss attacked with words. Also the general atmosphere of the game is top notch.
It took me a little while to get used to the controls and I believe that having played hollow knight helped me to understand what I had to do. The down swing bounce is kinda an advanced technique to put on a demo. The enemies aren't knocked back when they are attacked, a bit of it could be nice.
Thanks for playing! I just realized that I uploaded a debug version, so you got placed in the middle of the end content. There's a tutorial, but I appreciate you powering through. If you had fun and want to play more, the proper demo I just uploaded has three more boss fights.
I'll definitely add knock back for the enemies.
Watching you fail the captcha until you selected the mirror reflection made me laugh, I hope it was a good joke on your end.
Idk, I must have not understood a major movement mechanism, because I kept getting stuck whichever way I went?
The flair and music are very cool, only I don’t understand why one starts immediately "in the internet," somehow from the content you posted (and also what the Smith guy says?) I presumed that the game mainly was in the normal world and you end up on the webz only as a later gimmick.
I uploaded the wrong version (I was testing something out and forgot to take some debug stuff out). If you try again, you should get the proper experience
I liked the game, the main character is so funny. I really wonder what the story is gonna be like, why are we playing as a black lady? kek Honestly the game is really polished, I can see you have been working on it for some time now. I don't have that much feedback to be honest, the mechanics are well put together, I didn't need a tutorial for the most part. The only thing that """bothered me""" just a tiny bit were the walking sounds lol (after a while it got a little repetitive) but honestly I didn't care that much. Good stuff.
EDIT 1: I see that you added a new build, I'm gonna play that now.
EDIT 2: Ok so I think I got to the end of the demo, after the big rat boss where I get wall jump ability? I don't think I'm able to move anywhere after that, maybe I'm wrong. Anyway, I thought the game was hilarious, the aesthetics in general, the main idea, it's really funny. I legit laughed hard at the "Blacksmith" joke. Really cool stuff, I wanna see more!
EDIT 3: Nevermind, I found the walljump route (NOTE: It's hard to tell if that is the route you have to take since the wall in that part can be considered as background, maybe highlight that part in particular with some colors somehow) after the big rat boss fight, I got the 'internet' level and finished it after that, I don't think there's more content after you get back to the initial area of the "internet"? Anyway, amazing stuff, the art is so stylish and funny, I liked it a lot.

your game is far too polished for my feedback to have any value. you clearly know what you are doing.
great job

oops, sounds like you played the incorrect version i uploaded, that's my bad
the latest one starts you off in the right place if you care to give it another shot!

Aaah I imagined something was missing. I did have fun, I will give the more complete version a try later.
Yes I found it funny! A very nice small puzzle.

this is great but keyboard games are too hard for me
I'll add controller support for next time

Wow, thanks for taking the time to play through all the content! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
I will incorporate your feedback into the next build for sure
