I didn't expect a jam entry to be so cinematic. Really well done. It controlled well and I can tell there was more you wanted to do. I would've liked a little more interactivity with background elements like the bed and desk. But the dialogue and graphics were really stunning, Great presentation

Short and sweet.  If only there was more to the story...  It's very well presented, including the glowing affect, staggered backgrounds, polished graphics, etc.

Notes:

  • Had some problems with the controls. I found more times than not that jump was not very responsive, notably on sloped ledges.

Congrats on your first project in Godot! I can tell you learned a lot and appreciate the level of polish you put into it! Love the lighting effects and the animation of the flame while you're moving.

Some of the mechanics were really cool like being able to go up the platform by lighting the fuse and traveling through it. That kind of unique mechanic would be so cool to see expanded into a bigger puzzle platformer.

Nice work!

(PS: sorry my video got cropped in too tight so some of the screen is cut off)

I loved the burning dynamics as a way to make for urgency in some of the sections and also as a navigation concept. I did miss some of the jumps that I thought I'd originally make; I wonder how your game would play with coyote time implemented or tweaked further.

I'm just learning Godot now, too, and I'm looking forward to seeing what you do next with it.

I really like the style of this game, and burning up the bridge support! Story feels good.
