THIS IS NEAT!  I like how this turned out!  You have a solid set of graphics for this project. I like the background music that plays and the little 3d blocks work well enough to setup the battle arena. I got up to round 5 before I found things were getting tricky.

Notes:

  • The startup was a little odd.  It almost seemed like the game crashed when I tried to fire it up.
  • When ending a game, the screen continued to turn as I clicked the 'return' button.
  • I found having to click the mouse button to rotate a bit counterintuitive (maybe I just play different FPS games?).

Thanks for playing! I'm glad you like the graphics.
Yeah the turning controls are quite unpopular, I'll have a look into it
Interesting, haven't had reports of crashes before, which browser are you using?

I don't think it was the 'latest', but I was playing on the final version of Firefox on my Win7 HDD.

Really fun! Love the 2D/3D aesthetic. Music was really nice and gave a nice atmosphere, along with the snow particles floating around. Love the concept of the Calimagi as well! Could definitely see that becoming a full universe of characters.. very unique!

Wasn't a huge fan of the turning controls with the mouse, but after I got used to it, I locked in and I was able to beat the game! Flamethrower was so strong :)

Very nice game, great work!

Thanks for playing! Yeah I really liked working on the 2D/3D aesthetic too. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I hope to make it a full universe of characters, watch this space 😄

I'll have a look at changing the turning controls, it would've taken a lot of work to get right.

Fun concept—the movement (turning especially!) took me a bit to get used to, but I liked the different spell dynamics after I acclimated to the movement. I didn't end up using the rock spell though which makes me wonder if I missed out on some aspect of the game or if the spells could benefit from further differentiation?

Developer

Thanks, yeah I couldn't quite decide on a control scheme so it's a bit awkward.

Yeah the Rock spell is quite similar to the green one, Only real difference is that it has a longer range, it could definitely do with some differentiation.

The fire is OP, nice.

Developer

Thanks, which one, the flamethrower?

Submitted(+1)

The one that places 3 or 4 fire on the left and right of the player. Nothing gets past it!

Developer

Yeah the flamethrower, it is really good. Thought the low range and high cost would balance it a bit, maybe needs some tweaking to the things it can block
