  • Love the art style, interesting concept, few tweaks balances would easily take game from a cool little game jam entry to a fully fledged addictive game. Would love to see you keep working on it.

So much fun! I'd love to be able to play this game with more people, it just feels right. Definitely looking forward to any updates.

Developer

Thanks!

Multiplayer is something I would love to implement now I have some time to develop it more

Loved the board game concept! Made it through on the first try. Did not feel like there was much strategy involved. With more blocks, more cards, and more players this could be really cool.

Developer

Thanks!

Eventually it'll be more strategy and less luck based. Already working on expanding the cards and maps.

Developer

Bug found for Speed Boost - it persists even after it expires, meaning you get a +1 to the movement after using the card.
Will be fixed in the next update

What a great concept for a game. I would love to see more interesting ways to use the cards to your advantage and it might have been nice to start out with a hand of cards. The art was done nicely. Good game you got here. Would be interested to see more work done on it.

Developer

Thanks!

Originally i did give the player 3 cards, but it made the game too easy. I wanted to make a game that I hadn't seen before, and I am happy with how it turned out. I'll be continuing this one!

Loved the music! The gameplay felt a little luck based, but still fun. Reminded me of board games I used to play.

Developer

Thanks!

I wanted the player to be at the mercy of the dice and the cards they're dealt :)

its a good game. make it online  and for nintendo consoles

Developer

Thanks!

That would be a great idea! I hadn't thought of that. I do have plans to make a level editor, where the player can make and play their own maps.

I love this concept, and enjoyed my time playing. Reminded me of playing games as a child (in a good way).

I would love to see this expanded with more levels and tile types. I think another card type that was automatically played when landed would be cool. Cards like, "Go back 3 spaces", Or "Next tile does 1/2 damage".

Developer(+1)

I was thinking of adding a "go back n-spaces card" and a few others, but didn't get round to adding them.

If i expand on this I'll create more of a map environment and add things like a procedurally generated map - up against the clock i didn't have to time to make one that i trusted!

I am not a fan of dice rolling games at all but the way it was built was really cool. I would put the skip in the same position as the dice roll so you do not have to move your mouse over all the time on PC. Or assign that action to keys or controller buttons. I was using keyboard and mouse. Lots of things that could be improved (same as always right and I say the same thing for my stuff) but it was nicely executed overall. The way the game started flowed really nicely though I did need to come out again and look at how to play as I missed the card buffs feature the first time. Maybe make those cards more visible too with a call to action. The fact that you put a how to play in was smart, I wish we had done that on ours :D

Developer(+1)

Thanks!

I like the idea of having the skip front and center, maybe, instead of over the timer. Worth trying out and seeing if i like it.

I agree with making the keyboard involved. I bet you were hovering your fingers over WASD like I was ;)

Loved the general idea of the game, wasn't crazy about the tiles as a bit of the shock to the eyes (well my old eyes anyway). However it has some great ideas and I did enjoy it.

Great entry to the jam!

Developer

Thanks! This is a new style for me so have now dipped my toe in for better projects.

I know what you mean, me also. It's also so I can learn to actually finish a game. I normally start get about 60% through and then start another one, it's a bad habit I need to break!

Developer

haha my projects folder is an embarrassment

MTG/PTCG/DND meets board games in this very unique and wacky combo of tile moving and "strategic" card choices.

A very light-hearted game with some fun ideas and gimmicks going on. My main gripe for a game overall was the content available(not that I have anything to say about that lol) and the very limited amount of control I felt like I had.

Keep up the good work, and maybe try to make this a real-life board game some day!

Developer

Thanks! The content is limited, and if i had more time I'd have added so much more!

I've always wanted to make a board game style game and this was my first attempt. I have a lot of things i would love to add and change, so i won't be abandoning this one any time soon :)

Okay, so basically to start things off... I loved the concept! I definitely did not expect a luck game in the jam before now, and this one's very well done! I loved the PC style menu- and the (level?) design is cool. The music is nothing special but VEEEEERY fitting. Now, no game's perfect, so im gonna start off with the few things i didn't like:

-The art is a bit hard on the eyes. It's kind of becuz of all the different (art styles?)

-The number on the dice is not very visible. Not mandatory ofc.

-The game needs a LOTTA stuff to better, like more levels, maybe more grounds, you know, stuff like that.

Anyway, keep it up.

Developer

Thanks! I agree with everything you said :)

If i had more time i'd have made the maps different, with themes and other effects.

The graphics are my very first go at pixel art, and i think i got the basic down. Now i just have to polish the look :)
