The art is crisp and colorful, the 2d lights make it seem like the limitation did nothing to limit the actual aesthetic appeal of the game. The intense music was on point with the game and I can't compliment the movement of the game enough. The character feels amazing as it jumps and feels alive even without many animations. The camera is smooth as well as even having camera controls for the game through your mouse. The level design is great although it was unclear where exactly you should go on the first level and it was kind of hard to figure out the puzzles with a freaking crow chasing after you! Maybe make it a little bit slower so that casuals like me can double jump over it lol.

The art is amazing and overall I really enjoyed the challenge of solving the puzzles while being chased.
The only downside I have with the game is the controls. Holding S to drop from the platforms felt a bit iffy because I wanted to fall from the platform at specific times but had to wait for the character to actually fall.
Also having the double jump felt a bit unnecessary because I found myself double jumping most of the time.

Wow! I can't imagine how you pulled this of in only 72 hours!

It's a bit of a shame that I didn't even get past the first real level, so the game is definitely pretty hard. But I wouldn't call that a bit thing, since I'm sure that's what you guys where going for. Game play wise the game is a bit to standard for my taste, but I found it very satisfying to trick the crow by jumping over it!

I also can't believe this amazing art style is achieved by only 4 colors, so this is probably my favorite game of the jam!

ok lots to unpack, the controls needs lots of work, jumping and moving was a struggle, also WHY ISNT W FOR JUMPING! how frustrating when i have my hands on the ASD to move SPACE to jump, and my mouse to click items ( playing on a laptop btw thats why my frustration to that)

speaking of Mouse clicking... never worked for me... was the most frustrating thing of them all!

i kept clicking over and over and it never did anything for me, i couldn't even get past the 1st stage.

i like to end this on a good note, loved the artwork! great job, its what caught my attention.

Developer(+1)

Sorry to hear that clicking didn't work at all for you! Nobody who I've sent it to so far has had that as an issue. Have you tried fullscreen mode?

I'm also on a laptop as well and I didn't find ASD and space a struggle. I am adding up/W as a jump as a control in a post-jam update, though!

I will give it another shot! And yes I was in fullscreen mode

Developer

I've tested the game out on my end and it works fine on full screen and on the jam page.  I don't know what's causing it, maybe you accidentally unfocused the game by accident? But I've tested that as well and you shouldn't be able to move at all if that happens, so I'm just confused.

EDIT: tried again, only the first items  didn't worked for me, but everything else did work, i was able to now play the game, very hard BTW! thanks for responing though,  i can see lots of hard work went into this, i really wanted to like this game, but we only had limited time with it, love to see what you add afterwards

Developer(+1)

Thanks for trying out the game again! I hope you enjoyed it, I'm definitely looking forward to to new stuff I added as well, hahaha.

I encountered the absolute funniest bug where when the crow killed me and I did the little death animation where I fall off the screen, I was still able to pick up candles and got the last one I needed which was inside a locked barrier. Speedrun tech here folks

Great game btw!

Developer

Thanks for checking the game out! Honestly it's funny enough that I'm just gonna keep it

Cool game, not easy to beat level 2! :)

Submitted (1 edit) (+2)

Very difficult, maybe the crow head's hitbox should be a little more forgiving?

Also I keep encountering this bug there the game thinks I'm in the air when I'm on the ground, and it doesn't let me jump, which pretty much guarantees that I'll get hit

Other than that the music and art is very good, great game

Developer(+1)

I've been toying with making the crow a bit slower for a post-jam update, but a more forgiving hitbox is also a good idea, nice catch!

Developer

Thanks about the music btw :)

damn, this is cool. kinda hard to pick things up with my crappy mouse tho, not your fault.

only thing i would say is to make "W" key jump as well.

this game is really nice. hope this gets top 1

Developer(+2)

Me too but it's probably unlikely lmao

Submitted(+2)

Everything is well polished, but a little bit too difficult for me XD

Reminds me of Celeste: Chapter 3. In a very good way. Platforms are kind of finnicky but the rest of the game is fantastic

Developer(+1)

Thanks! Getting compared to Celeste is a huge compliment! I definitely should've made the platforms take shorter to drop through, though, haha.
