How does your game represent Mode?
You have two different interpretations of switching modes.

In the shooter game you switch the colors of your switch to switch your firing mode, making you able to kill certain enemies.

You also have to switch to your "gaming" mode and "sleeping" mode to not get caught by your dad roaming your room.

These two different mode switching (Switching in game and in the real world) give you some unique challenges to juggle around!

MS paint takes another W in this jam, great job

Fun idea, loved the mspaint intro and thought the game/modeas was really creative. Only thing is I never survived long enough for dad to show up!

The tutorial is so good. Best part.

i love the ms paint aesthetic, you made it work, audio and music also fit and are really good. dad is scary, love the fact that you need to keep up with both the dad and the game. my only complaint is that the spaceship game itself is a bit too easy and simple. loved it, great game!

I loved the tutorial video. Never seen anyone else do that before. Got immersed into the gameplay and forgot I had to check for my dad. Became super real, real quick. This has happened to me throughout my whole childhood and the fear crept back in. Loved the thrill and excitement!

I've never seen a game hit me with an MS Paint YouTube tutorial video haha, VERY cool. The controls were a bit of a fuck even after the tutorial though, mostly because I'm used to playing Spelunky where I whip with J. It would've been nice if picking up the game unpaused by default. It was really difficult to get back into the game because the bullets would phase-lock,  sometime killing you 100% of the time. I really dug the music, interesting take on the theme, good submission!

The composer for our entry was like, I have been playing Galoogo for 2 hours, so now I am here. I understand why, this game is real fun! I like the aspect of the multiple games going on at once. Also love the sound design, pew pew pew pew pew!

I find this game concept really intriguing, especially since it's so relatable. It's a very surreal experience if you let yourself become immersed in the scenario. Unfortunately the controls really hold it back, since it is really hard to build muscle memory for so many buttons.

I would recommend combining some of the button functionalities, like making space bar shoot and sleep, and make one button for both exiting the shooter game and reentering it. You had the right idea with making WASD control the ship and the camera (which could probably use a little smoothing, unless it was a stylistic choice to be that snappy).

I also really like the idea of including a video recording of yourself explaining how to play, since its a much more interesting and engaging way than just writing a list of controls, paragraph of text, or complicated diagram, although you threw those in as well for good measure.

For the shooting game, I would appreciate being able to take a few hits, especially since the game can get paused when you're right in front a bullet, giving you no time to react when you continue playing.

Now THIS is the kind of artistic genius I was hoping to find here. Galoogo is immediately distinctive, standing out in a sea of over 500 games. The art style, sounds, craftsmanship, and original gameplay concept all brought a smile to my face. It's amazing you could bring this kind of heat on a 2 week timeline, thanks for posting!

Absolutely amazing! A wonderfully creative game with a lot of charm, had a lot of fun trying to beat the video game in the game while also pretending to be asleep. I certainly didn't want to be caught by dad. Incredible work, I love it!
