Bobby wants soup! Help Bobby obtain his missing ingredients so he can fix up the most savory and delicious soup this side of the border. On this platforming adventure you will utilize Bobby's various M.O.D.E.S. (Must Obviously Desire Eating Soup) in order to acquire his desired mise en place for the soup. Bobby has two M.O.D.E.S. he can switch between which allow him to phase in and out of solid matter. Utilize these incredible M.O.D.E.S. so Bobby can have soup. Please enjoy your brief time with Bobby, remind him that soup is good, but it's the journey that matters.

I like going through walls. Adding checkpoints would help a lot.
Thanks for playing! Bobby love you!
A pretty fun little gameplay gimmick. Has a lot of potential to be a good game for speed running!
Thanks, we appreciate you playing with Bobby! The current speed run record is 3 seconds so see if you can beat that!
The controls feel smooth and the interactions when phasing through platforms are cool but the level design could use a bit of work. You should probably either have checkpoints to make deaths less annoying or have the routing through the level be much clearer so finding the right path doesn't feel like guesswork, adding visible bounds would help but if that goes against the feel you're aiming for then you could tighten the death zones in so restarts are faster.
Thanks for playing and for the feedback! I'm glad the controls felt smooth, nothin bettah than slidin around with bobby gettin soup in the most butteriest smoothest way possible!
The music is excellent, the art is tight, and if you release "space" at the right time the physics will rocket Bobby into regions unknown. ;)
Fun little game. Keep up the good work!
Thank you for the kind words! Our team had a blast putting together the art and music together and Bobby loved exploring regions unknown with you :) Thanks for playing!
This game was pretty fun! I like the funny concept and use of the theme, and the phase mechanic makes for some interesting platforming. I think the background could use some scrolling or a parallax effect of some sort, but that's a minor criticism. Nice job!
I would love it if you checked out my game as well.
Thank you for playing, so glad you had fun! We unfortunately ran out of time to make a parallax effect but intend to work on it after the jam and update the game! Bobby enjoyed spending time with you!
Really good music. Bobby looked so confused while phasing :D Also liked Bobby's running animation. A great jam game. Well done!
So glad you enjoyed the music and animations, thank you for playing! Bobby's run is peak performance and is how we should all aspire to run. Bobby loves you!
The music was so good! Everything else was on point as well. Phasing through objects was a great mechanic to learn to master. Thank you for the experience!
Thank you for playing! So glad you enjoyed the music, we had to cook up some jams for Bobby's playlist or he wouldn't be very happy. Enjoy the soup!
Very nice! I feel bad that Bobby had to go to such great lengths to make a soup, but I guess stores were closed for the holidays lol. (Journey before destination, right?) I really liked the contrast between the linear first level and the more open-ended second level. I enjoyed the phase jump too, and having to time them well was something I think I got better at as the game went on. One thing that I think could be a bit more dynamic is the camera; with it being centered on the player, I sometimes found it hard to tell what was directly below me, which in turn led to me falling more than I'd like. Regardless, way to go on this entry! I hope Bobby enjoys his soup!
I'm so glad you enjoyed your adventure with Bobby, he spoke quite highly of you and your determination against that challenges and adversity you faced in the pursuit of soup. Journey before destination, life before death, soup before no soup. We appreciate the feedback as well and hope to continue working on the game and work on the camera to give Bobby the direction and focus he deserves! Thank you for playing!
Did y'all just take advantage of Godot's physics interactions for a launch mechanic? lol. Nice entry, overall. Really tough to play left handed, but not impossible. Nice job!
Bobby loves you :) Thank you for playing
Sorry about this, there are left handed controls (i,j,k,l) but we did not advertise that anywhere. That’s real flub given I am left handed and often have the same complaint.
We used Godots normal collision system for all the standard platforming bits. The phasing and unphase launching mechanisms are a bespoke system. Creating those systems actually took up a reasonably large portion of development time 😅.
Fun and cool game! Enjoyed the phase mechanic. BOBBY WANTS SOUP!
Bobby want soup! But most importantly, Bobby just wanted to spend time with you! Thank you for playing, Bobby had a blast getting soup with you!
I love the mechanic of phasing through platformers it pretty fun and it's cool how you can launch yourself with it. I was happy to get Bobby his soup I loved the little dance of joy he does at the end of the level.
I'm so glad Bobby brought you the same joy you have brought unto him. Bobby's soup dance is quite the sight to behold. Thanks for playing!
Bobby is amazing, loved his design and the core gameplay of the game! The idea of looking for soup ingredients also made me giggle!! Amazing job, thanks for sharing!!!
Bobby thinks you're amazing too! Bobby is so glad you enjoyed going on a journey with him to collect the ingredients. He feels his time spent with you is more valuable than the soup at the end... maybe... it's really good soup. Thank you for playing, glad you had fun!
fun platformer, great art. i don't know why phasing in when in a wall flings you very far, but it makes for fun skips sometimes (accidentally lol). all around, very good and fun game. great job!
“i don't know why phasing in when in a wall flings you very far”
Bobby has launch move cause Bobby need soup FAST. Running and jumping only gets soup slow with Bobby small legs. Bobby say thanks for playing. Bobby wants soup.
The mechanic was really unique. It got frustrating at parts, but it was so interesting I couldn't put it down. Eventually I learned better control of the phase jumps and managed to get all the veggies. Nice job!
I'm so glad you enjoyed the game and were able to stick with it! As Bobby would say, overcoming frustration and adversity is an important part of the journey. It is a reward even greater than the soup! ...but Bobby would disagree with that last bit. Thanks for playing!! :)
Good work! I think the concept is interesting, a neat interpretation on modes. Desiring soup is very important and seeing that idea explored throughout the game was enjoyable. I had fun!
Bobby agrees! It is important to desire soup! Bobby thanks you for sharing in his deepest and most personal desires and was overjoyed to be able to get soup with you. Thanks for playing!
I found the mechanic of the game quite interesting in a good way. I was kinda vibing to the music and collecting my vegetable, but I do feel like the phase jump mechanic is somewhat my biggest gripe in this game. It feels like I can barely ever jump the height that I want to. Other than that this felt great!
I appreciate the feedback, and thanks for playing! So glad you enjoyed the music and getting the veggies. Nothin better than collecting a nice onion to cook with! (Or eat raw if you're into that sort of thing.) I'll talk to Bobby about the jump mechanic, he keeps insisting he got hops but I am doubtful... but don't tell him I said that. Bobby can definitely reach the required hight necessary to get the soups, but his issue is consistency, I'll talk to him about it :) Thanks for playing!
Really unique artstyle and mechanic. I liked the painted pipe background and unique mechanic to phase through the ground. I also liked how you can just tap the phasing power and the game launches you out of the ground and into the air! I did struggle a lot to precisely unphase in areas like that first patch of barbed wire where you have to phase through the wire but then go solid right afterwords. I ended up just phasing right through the ground under it and dying a bunch of times haha. Cool entry!
Thanks for playing with Bobby and thanks for the feedback! I'm so glad you enjoyed the unique art style, our artists worked hard to deliver the hand crafted environment and unique character design of Bobby! However, Bobby wouldn't say they came up with him, that would make Bobby mad... Bobby says he descended from an outer realm with no physical form and planted the idea of himself in our artists mind, thus having them create a conduit, a physical vessel in which he may obtain soup from our realm...
And I delivered
Great deliverance He gives to His king, Bobby, and shows mercy to His anointed, to Soup Herald, The Water Museum, and his descendants forevermore...
Fun platforming and phase mechanic!
I like the design of the character and the movement animations. My main gripe with the game is the lack of checkpoints. They are a must-have in platformers, especially challenging ones.
In any case, great work!
So glad you enjoyed the game! I really quite enjoy phasing through walls myself and love that you enjoyed it too! I'm hesitant to bring up the checkpoints to Bobby again, his latest tantrum left me with the impression he's not interested... A good challenge builds character, that's what Bobby always likes to say! But then again Bobby also says that the Earth is flat and soup is at the center of the moon... But I'll talk to him and see what I can do, perhaps I can get those checkpoints added!
Very cool game. The phasing mechanic was unique. I did find myself accidentally using spacebar to jump instead of phase quite often but I soon got the hang of it. Bobby really loves soup.
Bobby does really love soup! Thank you for taking him to get some! It's not a task I can always do on my own, I appreciate the help. His demands for soup grow more frequent and more tiresome...
