Funny idea, I didn't get much time to play it though, since rating ends in 1 minute XD

This was a funny game to play. The music adds a sense of impending doom as I do a bad job of avoiding the sonic-speed hot dogs- haha! Cool game!

Fun game! It was like a bullet-heal but instead of dodging bullets you were dodging food. I really enjoyed the concept. I especially liked how the character's sprite changed during runtime to reflect the health level, that was a nice touch.

If you wanted to improve, I suggest having the final score on the end screen, I have no idea what I finished with score wise. I would also suggest you show where people are going to spawn, most health I lost because someone spawned right on top of me. Lastly, a little more animation on the character could have helped. If you didn't want to make any more sprites, you could accomplish this by just rotating the sprite back and forth and spawn smoke particles on the feet while they move. That's the style I went with in my game and I think it worked well.

Overall fun game, it gave me some good laughs!

i love it when ur below a certain percent of health, the player sprite changes xD so funny

Congrats on your first game jam entry! The silly graphics are funny, and I like how the player sprite visibly gets bigger as you eat more food. One suggestion I'd add is to work in the survival time into the points system, such as getting five points for every second you survive. I'd also add in a simple tiled background of some sort. At first I thought I was teleporting around randomly, but it turns out the people around me were. Nice job overall!

thanks for your feedback and suggestions.

Loved how you did everything yourself. It was a great concept. Some more artwork and player feedback would have made it great. I would suggest adding an outline to the game and increasing the vision area. Good game!

Please consider playing and rating my game as well. I would really appreciate it! Thanks a lot!

Thank you for your feedback! Your game was good too!

Please consider rating the game if you haven't! Thanks!

I love that you went through the effort to make your own music, that's always such a plus for me when I see that people put time into that aspect! I would've enjoyed seeing more player feedback (camera shake, sound effect when eating junk food, etc...), and a clear outline for the world would also have been a nice addition.

thanks for your feedback, I’ll keep that in mind for future projects!

Very cool game! I really like the pixel art, music and the very positive message. The gameplay was simple but very enjoyable, though, I found  the background character pop in and out is a bit disorienting. But overall very nice game!! Well done!

Nice, healthy take on the theme :). I liked how the player got bigger, the more junk food he ate: Very good message.
Maybe not making the other character randomly pop in and out of existence could be worth a try, and let them walk around randomly instead? Also I noticed that the movement was only going in 4 distinct directions. Making your character walk in all directions, depending on the input could be nice as well.

Great effort!

Thanks for your feedback, Much appreciated! Don’ really know how to make character walk in any direction depending on the input though or random walk for other characters. Do you know any good tutorials for these features for unity game engine, at all?

Submitted

Youtube is a treasure trove of tutorials for these things:

And random walk you probably could do the same way you moved the junk food, but randomly change direction once in a while.
Good luck!

So the message of this game is realy strong. Your character getting bigger and bigger as he becomes less healthy is a nice detail. You should try to make those characters poping in and out of existance a bit more predictable tho.

Oh and the music is prettu good to! Stay healthy! Good luck with future projects!

Really cool game with nice graphics i didn't get the purpose of the people in the background though and there seems to be some issue with the ui along with the rotating stuff everybody mentioned.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! The people who are moving around the background are throwing food at you and the ones that stay still are part of the audience around the games barrier. What issue exactly with UI? If it's the highest survived not showing it's becauses didn't make the text box for it big enough so after a certain time it might disappear. The only thing that I seen that causes the character to rotate is moving into the barrier in a certain direction (usually when going down)! thanks alot for your feedback!

Submitted(+1)

the continue button at the beginning is overlapping with the go back to main menu and the text at the beginning has gotten cut out

Developer

Don't know how to fix that exactly. But I know If you full screen it you should be able to see everything without them overlapping or being cutted off!

Developer

rotating issue is because the character still moves when it hits the play areas barrier, was going to implement a way to stop players from constantly moving into the barrier. For me it only done this when hitting the bottom barrier, corners and sometimes top.

Developer

I ended up forgetting about the barrier issue that I needed to fix

Submitted(+1)

Dont worry, its a game jam, it is very hard to do everything you wanted in time. Love the message of this game!

Submitted

Very cool graphics! Like others mentioned, my whole game kept rotating when I moved down. Not sure if that was intentional, but it definitely added to the difficulty :) Overall, good job!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! It's wasn't intentional and for me the character would rotate when hitting the bottom and corners of the invisible barrier!

Submitted(+1)

I'm not sure if this was some kind of but everything rotated 90 degrees. My controls went weird, like down was left, up was right, etc.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! the game can rotate and mess with your controls when you move into the barrier to much (usually the bottom or top for me)

Submitted(+1)

Great game. I like your Idea! The game boarder is rotating when I collide to it. My longest survive is 130 sec and I didn't move. Liked the pixel graphic.
