i really liked this game! the music and the graphics are really cool, the gameplay is great too, the bullets for life mechanic fits the theme of the jam , and is challenging enough, keeping balance between the two was really easy, until the boss, in that place i ran out of bullets really fast lol, as a danmaku veteran player,  i didn't use the dash movement in the fights, i used it more to move around the maps, and to pass trough the spikes. my suggestion is that if you are going to put a movement or mechanic in your game, make sure to encourage  the player to use it, otherwise it feels empty or unnecessary,  great game !!

I loved the idea and the art was simple but I liked.

Great idea, I wish the dash were better though and it could also make you invulnerable.

I almost dont believe that this game was done in a week lmao it's crazy how good and polished it is WOW. This is probably my favorite game played during this jam. REALLYYYY well done. Dont really have feedback for you bud. Totally should publish this on steam though.

Developer(+1)

Thanks! its really uplifting to see such positive feedback! I spent a lot of the week making this and I was surprised at myself for how much I crammed in! I'll definitely think about putting up an extended version on steam if there's enough demand!

Man i really enjoyed this :D. I loved how you used the theme. You have to think twice while shooting otherwise you end up with zero health :D The slime boss was way too much fun i love it.My only complaint is there is no diagonal dashing i have tried it so many times and couldnt get used to dashing becouse of it. Other than that this game became one of my personal favorites. Amazing work :D

Note: I would be really happy if you check out my game as well :d

Developer

Thanks for the detailed feedback! working in a > 4 way dash was very difficult, so I had to scrap it, but I'm glad you enjoyed! Gonna check out your game now!

Really good game. I like pixel art.

Amazing game, unique concept done in a retro style with really engaging, challenging gameplay and good variety of enemies to boot. The music is also excellent.

This game is so professionally done, great work! The less is more concept is applied really well and the enemies are a good level of difficulty. Also thought the speed of movement and gun were well judged. Really can't fault it! :)

If you get a chance any feedback on my game would be much appreciated!

Cheers

Developer

Gonna play yours now!

I really liked the music but I couldn't get very far because my cursor would constatntly move out of the game window but aside of that the concept is really cool.

Developer

Sorry about that, don't know why it would happen. Was the game running in fullscreen? also if it doesn't work you could try using a controller. The controller doesn't work too well but its there

You really deserve a rate! That is awesome!

Liked the concept, and it was executed nicely!

Final boss was my favorite part, love how the boss behaves similarly as the player, and the difficulty was not too hard but challenging enough.

Definitely one of the best in the jam, nice job :)

Developer

Thanks for the rating and review! Just rated and reviewed yours!

Really fun game, had a blast! The final boss was so tense!

The only problem I had with it was that it was kind of annoying to R to reload. Another button like maybe Shift would have been a little more intuitive.

Really cool pixel art,  good job

This game was a joy to play. The life - ammo was a fun mechanic that made me make interesting decisions, and I believe it fit fairly well to the theme. I never felt overwhelmed with the difficulty, but I didn't feel pandered to, either. You found that fine line and your game shines because of it. Also, the expression on the boss slime killed me.

Really well balanced and fun to play, the art was rather simplistic but I think it added to the charm of the game. Good work!

This easily gets my vote for the best designed game I've played yet. Everything is so well balanced. I had just the right amount of health to get through levels, it was fast paced but forced me to slow down reload witch you made a gameplay element in itself. I seriously don't have much bad to say about this game. The art is perhaps simple, but by no means does it get in the way of how fun the game is. BRAVO.

Aw man, my crosshair doesn't move so I can't play the game. I suppose all I can say is that I like the concept ^^

Developer (2 edits)

sorry that the game wont work, It does (kind of) work with a controller if you want to try that. Do you have any idea of why it wont work?

Submitted(+1)

Hey that actually worked! Was a little wonky, and I'm pretty sure it made the slime boss fight super hard, but I got to play it, yeay :D I really enjoyed the experience, I love the execution of the concept, and I really liked how tense some moments got where I had to wonder exactly how much ammo I could still make while staying relatively safe. The gameplay is satisfying and I like the sound effects and music, and I also love how you use text to guide the player, but making it more interesting by animating it (like when you unlock the dash) to give these things more character. Good job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for going to extra effort to play the game and thanks for the great feedback!

Loved your game.

Fun gameplay with little quirks (like holding reload and shoot for a minigun). Both bossfights were well executed. I think the game wasn't intended to crash after the second boss, but since it was the end, I don't mind.
I was surprised by how well the health pickups were spaced. Just far enough appart to be nessecary to get, but not too far, so you have a margain of error with your shots.

Developer

Sorry about the crash, It has a small chance of happening, but its there, and yeah, the game does end there. Thanks for the feedback and the rating! Most people haven't figured out the reloading and shooting tactic so I'm glad someone brought it up!

Really fun game and i love the ebb and flow between being powerful and powerless

Submitted(+1)

The visuals, the sounds and music were all great. The health - ammo mechanic is really nice and fits the theme perfectly. Also liked the text shake before the last boss.

The beginning of the game felt too easy. There is a speedrun timer (which is a really nice touch) for better players, but still, I think the first half of the difficulty curve is too flat.

The bosses were great, the last boss was really creative and gave a challenge.

One small thing maybe is that most of the rooms felt super empty (empty rooms or empty rooms with a few walls). Some cosmetic props would have spiced the rooms up, like barrels perhaps.

All in all, I really enjoyed the game, my criticisms are minor, awesome job! :)

PS: This reminds me of Enter the Gungeon.

Thanks so much for such detailed feedback! I'm really glad you liked it and that you gave an honest view! And yes, I based the main characters design off Enter The Gungeon!
