The game feels too hard. I would like to have tutorial levels instead of learning everything at once. Unfortunately, the jam format does not allow this. I think that the game can become very cool if it is improved after the jam. The mechanics are interesting and look impressive. Overall a good game

Developer

Thanks for checking my game out! yeah i know that the tutorial is too abrupt. am planning to update it after the jam with proper levels selection and difficulty scaler too. also easier to obtain exc points + shield gating mechanics and damage indicator too. hopefully it will solve all these problems that arises

Once I got the hang of the mechanics, I was having a lot of fun. Could use a bit of feedback on being damaged, but overall once you refine it I'm sure it'll be a banger. :]

This game is really good already. Some small things need to be fixed but it is really good. I loved playing this game. Good Job.

If you are interested, could you please play my game. I would really appreciate it.

amazing game!

moving around and parrying bullets felt really good, i like the different guns, but comboing the different special attacks felt kind of useless, i never really felt the need to use it in a boss fight (also, i never really understood the railgun with the purple ball thing?), but overall the weapons felt really nice to use!

the bosses were pretty fun to fight. the last boss is a HUGE difficulty spike, but learning his attacks and actually beating him felt INCREDIBLY satisfying (especially with the intense music), great job, i love this game!

Developer

glad you liked it! i'm sorry i screwed up the video for the tutorial phase ;-; ill update that at least after the jam. basically for the railgun you just hold out the railgun, melee the purple ball and right click. (you can spam melee purple ball + right click too) i also forgot to explain in the tutorial that the outer area of the purple ball blocks all yellow bullets.

Some crazy mechanics here! I'd like if they were introduced along the game cuz I feel is a lot to take in right at the start. That said it's really difficult to explain the whole game in gamejam-sized games so that is def a feat. Good job.

Thanks for trying out mine :D, yeah i tried to make the tutorial progressively but unfortunately i was around 20hr before the submission deadline when i was making the tutorial ;-; so i had to place them on the start

Yeah I feel you. We also rushed our game couldn't make a proper tutorial but at least we got our main goal which was the third bosses. Consider testing our game out :D

I would definitely play a full of this game. The tutorial was long enough to learn all the mechanics, and the style and music matches so well. I struggle a bit with the parrying though. Great game

Developer

thanks for checking out my game! yeah ill make the parrying to be shown better so people will understand it more.

A solid start of a movement shooter.

Very minimalistic on the graphics, but stylized well.

Good music and sfx. The gun sounds could use a bit more of a punch to them though.

Controls we're fine, and all the movement related thing felt good to use. The explanation and use of the special shots feel a bit cumbersome. I needed to actively think about switching/charging/shooting/switching/charging/shooting to pull of the special purple attack, which doesn't feel great, while being hailed with bullets from a few directions at once.

The parrying and dashing was well implemented, and fun to use.

Thanks for the detailed review Deavid :D appreciate it!

Is that a JJK reference I see? Really cool mechanics, though I felt it a bit hard, the bosses just shoot so fast! Still, the game has a really cool aesthetic, the sound is great, and the gameplay is fun, great job!

Developer

its inspired by go/jo technique. glad you liked it :D
