A really challenging game, love the idea of whirlpool and whirlpool events, just think game needs a little balancing bosses are shooting too fast and are really hard to hit. Would appreciate if you checked out our game too: https://itch.io/jam/boss-rush-jam-2025/rate/3292675
Noted! I’ve been hearing the comments about the difficulty, originally you fought all three ships at once so it used to be even worse lol!
I thought splitting them into one and then two would fix that but i forgot that other people haven’t been playing this game for a month like i have lol
It's probably decent game, I can't be sure because I'm probably having a skill issue.
Everything seems alright at early until the big ships appear, the bigger one does a cannon attacks while the smaller does a charging attack, I probably have no problem if I were fighting them one on one but two at same time not to mention I have to constantly evade the random rubbish or logs that constantly appears and anticipated incoming whirlpool while at it are no joke.
My biggest problem are obviously the Aim, I know the cannon aimed at the boss automatically but for me it's always off since I was forced to constantly move to avoid the logs or I guess my aim just suck.
*Just a suggestion, if you don't want to give player a target lock then at least let them to aim manually with mouse or something as this game current aim are doable but it's feels janky, also giving player ship a boost like a dash or something if you're planning to have boss who does a ramming attack so the player has a chance to defend themselves.

I am confused, I didn’t add any target locking features to the game it’s just free aimed based on the angle your mouse is from the player ship.
A boost or a dash could be fun, I figured the fast speed and the slow speed difference was enough to make it feel like you could dodge but a small speed burst would be fun to add!
I really loved the take on the theme on this game, really reminds me of that pirates of the caribbean movie hahaha loved it! I would love if the water looked a bit less flat and less a bit less difficult but I had fun! :D

Challenging, but fun.
Second boss could have some visuals, where it will spawn his ghost thingies (the ones he spawns randomly), cuz you can by accident swim into it and it will be kinda not your fault, because you weren't aware where it would spawn.
And third boss fight was a bit mess tbh, it felt like it spawns a lot of his stuff and it is hard to tell where is the safe spot, so I would add some color indicating for attacks there. For now for me it felt more like you survive on this boss not cuz of your skill, but cuz of random, but perhaps I didn't find the right strategy for it

And thank you for the feedback! Currently the 2nd boss doesn’t spawn the hands if they’re within a certain distance of the player, I could probably increase that distance to help out with that issue.
As of right now for the 3rd boss, the indicator for the attacks is the rotation of the tentacles, but adding a red aoe indicator would be a good idea to add in a future update and future projects.
The boss also attacks with a tentacle in retaliation whenever hit, so the strategy I found most effective in testing was to stop shooting when my health got low
I see, yeah, knowing it attacks only in retaliation makes it easier.
Fun concept, the repair mechanic is quite nicely executed, I was a bit confused about the shooting at first, having to hold down the mouse button to shoot further seems a bit of a strange mechanic? The whirlpool,while a cool concept gives me a headache, making the water color a bit more washed out and not have that strong blue to white contrast would make it a bit less nauseating.
The bosses also seem to be way too good at dodging, maybe its just my aim but they are super good at dodging and that is just annoying.

Thanks for the feedback! I plan on fixing the contrast issues after the voting period ends. Also the bosses don’t really dodge but they do reposition based on the player. The gunner ship at the beginning of the game positions itself on the opposite side of whirlpool from the player, and sits still while shooting. You can kind of manipulate their movement with your own to land shots easier
Ahh, if i knew this, the game would have been a ton more easier :p
It's things like thease that make the game easy for the dev but hard for the player.

This was a fun game. Very on-theme, but the spinning is a little disorienting, specially with the high contrast background and speed up events. I really like the ships and it felt much as a 1:1 battle. I couldn’t finish the first one, not sure if there is more variety after the first one.

im not sure if ill be able to complete it, but I had fun regardless! the gameplay felt kind of disorienting though I guess that's kind of the point, overall good job!
