Game's Take on the Theme
This prototype was made to demonstrate the combined mechanics of a boss rush and a visual novel in the format of a killing game. The plot focuses on the mirror between both Harper and Samuel as protagonists, and how their different experiences and knowledge help them to gather information from the situation; whether that be from their peers, their own knowledge, or what they can discern from the information they are given. Each character has their own power/ability that can change reality and flip the circumstances that any fight or encounter has, for future bosses this will be very literal - allowing them to flip the arena or perspective in some scenarios. For our protagonists, who possess the power of time travel which will also be expanded upon, they retain all of their knowledge as they go back, allowing them to relay information to each other at the start of every loop before they have to fight, and only by swapping between both protagonists regularly will you be able to achieve a true happy ending, in essence flipping the hourglass of fate in opposite directions repeatedly until both characters can finally escape their imprisonment

Too much dialogue imo for a boss rush- Its more like an interactive visual novel. I didnt see any Spin, but it was likely bc I stopped playing soon after the first battle bc of the amounts of text
Some sound effects between dialogue (ie the sound of a door opening, chains clanking, or character voice bytes) would help a lot, also maybe different expressions depending on the dialogue. Some custom graphics (like a cutscene but just a single image) would also help break up the monotony of dialogue
Loved the art!
I really like the vibe and character design, the music sets the tone really well.
How did you do the dialogue system? I've never done dialogue in godot before and I like what you've done with it
Love the art and character designs! Like another comment mentioned it did feel a little dark in some parts. Overall very nice!
(PS: If you're willing to I'd love it if you can rate and leave some feedback on my game! This is my first ever jam and I'd love to see where I can improve for the future!)
Hey There!
Great Characters! Love your Cover image artwork! Rated! ;)
Thank you if you visit and rate mine as well!
All the best!
Character design is really good, also the gameplay feels fine, i would say you add more light in lower areas of screen because it feels too dark there, also AI enemy cant reach us when we jump to some high places but its overal good what you did, very impressive for a short time jam, I rate graphics on top as i really like them but all is cool, also if you have time please rate my game, thanks!!

Your writing style is a little awkward at times, in that I see you want to make things clear for the audience, but I'd rather you were more trusting of the readers. That aside, the narrative was enthralling, I didn't even notice I had just been reading for a while. Shame it ended so soon, I was ready to have so much reading to do I'd have to come back to it a few times.
