How does your game fit the theme?
Reel 'Em and Deal 'Em is all about diving deeper in the water to get bigger fish and more rewards. The more rewards you get, the deeper you are able to go.
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
I wrote majority of the code with a very small percentage being generated by AI. Many 3d assets within the game are from the Unity Asset Store. Music and sound effects come from Pixabay. but are integrated and slightly altered by me.

The audio for this game was great and the fish models were well done. The idea that you play as the fishing rod is quite funny and how increasing depth lowers the lakes depth. My main suggestion would be a weight meter so you can see how much you were carrying because that confused me sometimes. Overall great job. :D
Thank you for your positive feedback! I’m glad you enjoyed it and I would like to eventually add more items into the HUD.
Very fun and addictive game, I really love to collect fish for money :D The music and assets were also paired really nicely with these objectives, and the vibe felt peaceful. It was really nice to not be incessantly chased by a shark or something, I felt like I had a wholesome objective and could just take a breather. The rewards system was also nice and straightforward. The SFX for when you make coin upon colliding with a fish is also really satisfying. I do have some suggestions!
- Tutorial: I think this kind of a game would benefit from an in-game, learn-as-you-go type tutorial, where when the action is first supposed to be used, the control displays. Then you avoid a wall of text scenario at the beginning that can be demotivating in game jams when there are so many games to go through. You could however keep the tutorial/controls in a wall of text format in a button while playing so you can consult it!
- UI Rewards System: For the amount of money you get, I think it would be cool to display it on-screen as you are raking it in. It makes it much more satisfying to keep going, to be able to see a number I mean. Otherwise you just hear an SFX over and over again until you get a red warning about reeling in.
Overall nice job though for such a short amount of time:)
Thank you very much for your good feedback! I will look into implementing some of your suggestions later on.
This is really cool and fits 100% with the theme! Great job!
Thank you for your positive feedback!
Pretty cool concept! Our game is very similar in a way lol :3
That's a good idea for the theme. What I especially missed were indicators. Knowing how much money I get and how many fish can I carry would help a lot.
I also found a glitch with the shop. When shopping you can reel in and get the coins for the fish effectively giving you infinite money.
Other than that, cool fish!
Haha, thank you! I will take that advice into account for maybe continuing with this after the jam.
Great game, very fun :)
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Cool game and Nice Environment design!
Thank you!
Really fun spin on a classic activity. The water looked amazing and the music fit the chill feel really well. Mechanically I think there could have been more to do to keep me engaged. I also would have enjoyed a way to move faster when I was far away from any fish. Overall, it looked great and I think there is a lot of potential with the idea. Thanks!
You need to rename your folder My project (1)_Data to Reel_Em_and_Deal_Em!_Data!
I liked the look and music. Controls were unconventional, but ok.
Thank you for your positive feedback. I’m glad you liked it!
Really liked the game and the atmosphere, but there was a bug where i couldnt move because i respawned at the boat when casting out.
I’m glad you enjoyed the atmosphere, and I do apologize for the bug you encountered. Did you encounter it in the web version or the desktop app? I know I fixed that bug in the web version, but not in the desktop app versions.
I encounter the bug in the web version, i couldnt get the windows version to run for some reason
Sorry that happened, I encountered it sporadically too now. I’ll see what I can do. Thanks for your input!
Nice game)
Thank you!
A very clever idea! Some bugs are expected because of the time frame. You have a cool concept and if I were you I'd keep fleshing it out. Good job!
Thank you for your feedback, I'm glad you liked it!
Sorry to all of you who may have experienced some bugs preventing you from continuing in the game because of the player getting stuck. Those bugs have just been fixed, and the player no longer gets stuck.
I like the idea of a first person fishing game and I thought it was done very well. I did have a bug where I was stuck on the boat but otherwise I really liked this entry. The controls feel good and the progression system is nice. Good work
Thank you very much! I'm happy you enjoyed it, but I do apologize for the bug of getting stuck on the boat. I'm trying to see if I can replicate that myself.
Fun game. but sometimes you would get stuck in the boat and you couldn't see how much weight you still had left. Overall a fun submission!
Thanks for your good feedback! Sorry about that bug, not sure why it happened.
I like the game but it have some buggs.
i like the idea.
This game was nice but it flt a bit buggy and unfinished, but I had fun. good job
I'm sorry about the bugs in the game, but I'm happy you thought it was fun. Thanks for your feedback!
pretty fun game! unique idea of a fishing game where you are the hook, however there were a few bugs with the hook getting stuck in the boat and glitching out a bit. otherwise very well executed!
I liked the idea that you yourself are the hook, it's very unique and clever. With a bit more time this game could turn into something great i'm sure. Good job and keep going!
I really like the idea of the game and the overall gameplay loop. The controlls where a bit weird in terms of that the player was always rotating to the right (I am not sure if this is a bug). Still keep going!
Thank you so much for the positive feedback! I’m not sure about the camera rotation being stuck because I never experienced that during my testing. Probably a bug and I will look into it.
