How does your game fit the theme?
The game's about Gilbert, the mayor of a small town, preparing to combat an incoming flood, by recreating how his city would flood using his own house and furniture, in order to warn the citizens.

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes to both, everything from code, to assets, sounds and music were made from scratch.

No disrespect towards cats will be tolerated. Other than that, awesome game, the puzzles were really creative and it has a lot of personality.  My favorite so far!

Such a cute song! The levels are really well designed, and time flew by while I played.
The only thing is, the 3D character looks a bit muddy—maybe a low-poly art style would fit better for this game.
Also, it resets my setup every time
And... I feel so dumb, I need help with this level :>

Spoiler:
In this level the key is to get the water from the bathtub to reach the ducky as quick as possible, so try to leave it a straight path to it so that it pushes the ducky and blocks the water from the upper right sink!

I wouldn't get this even after centuries XD Thank you I will give it a another shot.

really cool puzzle! Enjoyed this so much

heya, here's my feedback! Honestly I played your game the longest so far, and I was not expecting the game I'd get sucked into to be a puzzle game.

my thoughts:

  • cute
  • liked the dialogs in between the levels that introduce or talk about the new objects!!
  • I like how fast the game flows, which in turn rewards trial and error. I like watching the simulation of the water progressively too. The levels are also very challenging which makes it very rewarding when you figure it out.
  • Nice level transitions!
  • Also I don't think that's the morale of the story 'A pup who cried wolf', but that's pretty funny! XD
  • I liked the physics interactions between the water and cushions.

My only slight criticism:

  • I didn't know I had to press [SPACE] to start a level. I think that was missing in the instructions so I just kept trying to put the pillow everywhere expecting the game to start if I found the right location which was pretty silly XD

Thanks for playing!

And yeah, in a newer version I'd probably make the spacebar instruction more obvious. The instruction technically shows up on level 1 with the rest of the instructions, but it's... well... with the rest of the instructions. It kind of gets lost in a sea of information for most people. And the spacebar symbol is not immediately readable to all players. Definitely an easy fix we can handle going into the future.

Ah! I must've missed it somehow haha. Good job on the game regardless! :)

Very well-designed puzzles, I liked how puzzle 3 really shows you how the things float.  Love the art, music, and vibe.  It's just so cute and cozy.  Even if it's a game about flooding.

I had lots of fun with this! Great puzzle idea, I tried a bunch of times for some level to figure out how the objects move. great work

Gilbert plushies when???

In all seriousness, I had a lot of fun with this game :)

Gilbert's personality and dialogue really made me feel emotionally invested in the upcoming "storm", and I had a lot of fun figuring out how to protect the lamps from the storm.

The music was also really cute!

Maybe this is a me thing, but for some reason I didn't realize that pressing Spacebar would cause the storm to happen early, so I was just waiting for way too long for something to happen lol

Otherwise, really great!

Cuteness overload!!!!1!!1!! The puzzle design was very well thought out and taught me how to think about the water flow and how the different level pieces interacted with it. Your game makes me want to make something as wholesome and sweet as this submission. Outstanding!

I love how the theme, puzzle idea, and implementation came together, nice job! The only tinyy idea I can think of would be the grid being a little more obvious, especially for objects like the ducks.

This game is a fun game and the puzzle  element is really well done. Sound and visuals are great too. Good job.

Oh my gosh this is a good game!! I really love the art style, the vibes, etc. The puzzle of figuring out where to put the objects is fun. This has a great level of polish for a game jam. Nice work!

Please rate Hurricane Watch if you can!

Gameplay was fun. I wasn't a fan of the cutscenes though lol

It's probably one of my favorites so far; most importantly, it has a Corgi.

I played all the way to the end, but I got a bit frustrated by the mechanics. Especially on the last one, I could see the solution, but I couldn't come up with all the steps I needed to do in between to get there. If I would have been able to sit cushions off to the side or something, I would have solved it almost immediately. Instead, it took me like 5-10 tries of trial and error to find those steps in the middle of moving the "T" tetramino almost all the way to the other end so I could make enough room to finally put it against the wall, lol.

That's probably just a skill issue, though, and a minor complaint. Overall, great job, this is top tier submission.

Developer

Thank you for the review x3
And please do not worry about the last level, that is the hardest one and the pieces are intended to "be on the way"! So you did just fine! That's just a way to add extra difficulty to showcase a couple of kinds of levels, in some the water needs to get faster to a specific tile to push a floaty, in some you are granted a bunch of cushions at the side, and others require moving the cushions around to make room! All to get a bit of variety. n-n
Congrats on getting past it!
