How does your game fit the theme?
My game fits the theme 'Calm Before the Storm' through its core gameplay loop. Initially, the player, a jelly slime, experiences a calm phase where they explore and collect jelly to grow stronger. This peaceful period is the calm before the storm, allowing players to prepare for the intense wave of monsters that follows. The storm represents the chaotic combat phase where the player must use their collected power to fight and restore balance to the island. The two phases reflect the theme perfectly by contrasting a quiet buildup with an action-packed storm.
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
i wrote all the code but i got some of the assets from unity's asset store and other platforms

The graphics are amazing.
Beautiful atmosphere and colors! Amazing graphics, after all those dark themed games it was really fun to play. There is a few things maybe u can change about enemies after the game jam but its still really impressive for a 1 week project!
Also if you can take a look at my game too it makes me really happy. I am open for a honest feedback https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-12/rate/2973922 here our game link ☺
Bravo! This game is a real triumph. The mechanics are solid, the world is beautiful, and the entire experience is a joy to dive into. You’ve created something truly impressive. Congratulations!
what a nice graphics stylize look really like it, Keep up :)
Very nice graphics - I would've liked it if enemies came to you, maybe in waves, so you didn't have to seek them out, and maybe also more pronounced storm effects (like rain?) But otherwise nice!
thank you so much for the feedback, that was my plan at the start but the time limit made me switch and just finish the game loop as soon as possible , the idea at first was like the following .
The player begins the game on a sunny day, collecting jelly, which increases their power and helps them prepare for the upcoming storm. The jelly can be used to craft items or build defenses. Periodically, tension-building events occur as the player progresses, with the soundscape gradually shifting from friendly to ominous. For example, an earthquake followed by a loud, frightening noise will signal the start of the storm.
During the storm, the player must defend themselves using crafted items or structures built from jelly, which reduces their power based on the amount of jelly used. The player must carefully manage their resources while fighting minor enemies. After defeating these enemies, a boss will appear, with its power determined by the wave.
If the player survives the wave, they advance to the next one. If they die, they return to the start.
this is my first time participating in a game jam and making a game in a week, i wasn't aware of how little time we got, i will make the changes after the event.
thank you
Sounds cool - welcome to the game jam world, keep up the good work :)
