this game is really fun! the teleporting mechanic was my favorite among all of them, the games graphics were pretty good and the music was good

Fantastic game with really neat visuals and a cool concept. The only thing I didn't like was the boss fight. It seemed really unfair and ultimately I couldn't get past him. Other than that, this is a really nice game

Thanks for playing and for the feedback! Balancing is definitely important, and with the time pressure, we left little time to adjust the final battle so some have found it difficult. It’s something we’ll keep in mind for future updates after the jam ^_^

Cool game and unique rule!

But when I press "space" I can't press "up" till I press other arrow keys.

Bravo! Love the stealthy gameplay and the variety of enemies. The opening menu scene is beautiful along with the music. All around solid work. We covered it in our latest blog entry! https://www.betacade.com/single-post/7-Rift

Great Game! I love the artstyle and the super unique mechanics. i was having a lot of fun rounding up the enemies and defeating them all in one blow. Your main character reminds me of the Knight from Hollow Knight. Was that the inspiration? anyway One thing I might tweak is the length of time you have to be in a rift for enemies to forget about you. I would hop in a rift to avoid enemies and they would all proceed to continually shoot at it for a while. Other than my small nitpick, this was a great idea and a great execution.

A quite innovative game I say. The mechanics are really cool. Is your game even made in 2d? B'cuz those enemy viewfields actually don't go through walls, how did you do that? I'm working on a 2d game for a long time now (probably won't even go anywhere in the end) and I couldn't think of a way to make such a viewfield.

Developer(+1)

Hi! Thanks for playing :3 The game is made completely in 2D - I implemented the line of sight using raycasting which would only detect collisions on certain layers. For the colliders, I didn’t make it the whole sprite, but simply the bottom section, to give a 3D effect when the view-field hit the object. I hope this explains it, but feel free to ask any questions you may have ^_^

Really liked everything! I just think that the boss may have used a more hardcore song, and i think there should be more levels before the boss, but obviously that was impossible because of the time, so for a full release, maybe some more levels? overall, Great!

Developer(+1)

Hey, thanks so much for the feedback! We for sure are adding a couple more levels, and the song suggestion is a really good one! Ill make sure to check out your game tmrw when I wake up :3

Haha thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed :]

This is really awesome! I love the invisibility mechanic and the music and sound effects are really fitting. It would be good if the attack could work for up and down as well rather than just left and right, but I guess that adds some extra challenge!

The game is very funny!I hope you'll continue  the develpment of this game ,  there is a lot of potential  ;D. Good work bro!

Greate game! But Melee combat feels a bit delayed which is a bit uncomfortable to play. This "!" signs are the same color as enemies so it is hard to notice them. Enemies attacking really fast and it's hard to dodge them. Music is loopy and gets bored really fast. But I like how music changes through levels and levels are interesting.

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Hey Alex, thanks so much for playing, we've heard that the melee combat feels delayed before, the game is a bit laggier on slower machines, but runs much smoother in the downloaded version. We also decided to make the attack feel abit stiffer to dissuade the player from trying to use a super offensive "run and gun" type style(it shouldn't be too stiff though I think that maybe due to the laggy webgl version)

The exclamation mark query confuses me abit because it is blue and most are the enemies are grey/black? I think I see where you are coming from though. We decided to make enemy attacks quite fast because the game is meant to be quite focused on the invisibility mechanic and dodging around/hiding as opposed to fighting everything head on, choosing to fight head on is meant to be quite difficult. I think the comment on the music is also quite fair, we had limited time constraints and will look to improve on it after the jam ends.

Thanks for such good feedback!

Nice art! The audio also contributes a lot to its aesthetics!  it seems a simple thing but I liked how you made the flying enemies's vigilance area dynamic. The vigilance area was all thorough code?

Developer(+2)

Thanks for your comment! I used the A* path-finding algorithm for the enemy chase AI and the vigilance area should extend to the whole map actually, if you stay in the enemies’ line of sight - but since the flying enemy has a high speed, it is the most likely to keep chasing you and keep up you! :3
