the game play is amazing! RATED!!
Had a play of your game in this video here - at 55:10 -, where I give my thoughts while I play. Hopefully it's helpful feedback.
Was not expecting something like this to be made in a one week jam but I love it, being a humble little destroyer of worlds. During my play session the digging worked great! Only things I can think of was ammo capacity could have been a bit bigger possibly and the projectiles could have been a tad faster.
One possible bug I found was I did end up drifting out into space at the very end, not able to probably land on any planet before being once again bounced to the void. Still was a treat to play.
If you have time I'd greatly appreciate it if you could give my game a go to, happy jamming.
Noiiiice concept. Love the terraforming planets. And it's pretty clean, no glitchy behaviour as far as I have seen. The enemies didn't feel like a threat, or maybe I didn't get close enough to them as I shot them from away on all accounts.
But good game.
Hey so straight away, that wall of text for 'how to play' kinda hurts... The font makes it rather hard to read (Click looks like Duck), so I'm going into the game blind. I really love the gravity thing, it's kinda cool getting stuck in orbit, although I did feel a bit powerless whilst stuck. The mining mechanic was pretty neat, but seemed under utilised, as all you could do was find those red ores and gather ammo for shooting. Would've been cool if the mining was a bit more important. Graphics were nice and same with the music, all round a great experience, even without the wall of text at the start
Thanks for playing! Yeah the how to play thing was a bit last minute, I was also developing this on a 28 inch monitor, so the text was very clear for me haha! I was debating how best to approach the game, as I ended up with this time trial idea, I thought it best to have it in a way that means player have to practice and get better at dealing with the gravity but I did want to add a grapple/rope mechanic that I didn't get around to!
The digging was the main thing I wanted to get working, it is quite a complex combination of a marching cube algorithm split across multiple threads each of which are handling calls to compute shaders so that it can regen the mesh fast enough, so that took up most of my time :)
Super fun game! It is so rare to see terraforming used as a useful game mechanic. I also really enjoyed floating around in space, hopping from planet to planet! :D
There are 2 small things that I would change:
Otherwise this game is great, I had a fun time! :)
Really cool game design. It was fun interacting with and digging/destroying planets. great use of the theme, and you should improve it with everyones feedback. Keep it up and always improve~ Great job submitting a cool game to the jam. Please check out mine when you have time.
What a nice concept! It was very fun to mine while orbiting at high speeds and then trying to fire at distant targets using the planet's gravity. Sometimes I did take the gravitational force for granted, only to find that I would bounce off, really cool!
A very nice submission for sure!
Nice one! Reminds me of Astroneer a bit. The movement was a little clunky, but once you got use to it, it was pretty fun
Love it! I saw some of the development on twitter!
Awesome game! This game is great but I liked less the moments where the camera was placed strangely. In general, good job!
Cool idea! It must have taken some effort to make the planets destructible in such a way. The gameplay was pretty fun, too. My favorite part was trying to shoot at the yellow and purple planets while flying in the air. I didn't like the "camera correction" when I went close to a planet though, since it skewed my aim. An extra feature to make the game more challenging would have been interesting.
Very enjoyable game! The music and the graphics go very well together and the game play is very fun! Overall a very good game :)
good graphics nice game great work bro !!
I'm not sure if it's blur or bloom effect, but I think it could be toned down a little bit.
It's interesting to dig into the planet, especially with that music, I just want to keep digging.
But the particle effect doesn't tie up with the dig well, cause the dig looks like a part is gone in a sudden, while the particle looks like absorbing something.
I had some fun with it, truely relaxing.
The fun thing about this is that it doesn't feel that it was made in 7 seven.days. Is THAT good. Excellent game.
Great game, good music and graphics, also very good use of voxel for diggin the planets. Just one observation, when I jump from one planet to another the camera makes a strong rotation to adjust the character to the planet and can be a bit awkward to see, could that rotation be softened.
Thanks for playing! Yes it does feel a bit "snappy" and can be disorientating. I will definitely try to find a way to improve it!
Very nice. A polished and fun submission !
Digging holes from the planet are very cool. Graphics and UI are also satisfying. The BGM fits the game atmosphere. One thing that can be improved must be the player control. It is a bit hard to jump from a planet to another. I lost the gravity for several times.
Thanks! Yes it can be hard to land again if you go to far out but it is possible. I am working on a rope/grapple mechanic that will help you reattach to the planets but it was designed to be a challenge!
Movement was were hard but overall nice game. Game looked awsome, graphics were dope. Good job!
Gravity is awesome, UI is really cool too, you should consider adding quality settings or enabling unity's launcher, nice job!
