Well done! I really love the idea of using black holes to increase velocity of the star, and that made game actually very interesting, and hard too!
Awesome Game, really liked it.I hope you like my game too!
Nice game. Rate my game also.
Very well made game. The graphics are really nicely put together and the gameplay is simple and fun. I actually played this a few days ago but I guess I forgot to rate and leave a comment... Well here I am now lol. Better late than never. Please give my game a try too if you haven't already :)
This is a pretty awesome game! I loved the audio and the game mechanics. It took me many tries, but I finally figured it out! Great job on the game jam! (:
Graphics and sound are very pleasing ^-^
Overall it's really good and fun. The fact that you also move the asteroids adds flavour xd. Its hard to not lose all the lives tho (or maybe im just bad)
Thank you! I have changed the gravity pull of the black hole from a squared to a linear method in an update I want to upload when the rating is over, I think this should solve the problems with the hard controls you and others had.
Nice concept! Controlling a star using black holes is an interesting idea.
The gameplay works very well once you figure it out - it wasn't immediately intuitive that the gravity pull was stronger if you used the black hole close to the star, though it makes perfect sense in retrospect.
The visuals are very clear and nice to look at. It was easy to recognize the purpose of each object (though I didn't realize there were limited lives until I did, was wondering what the purpose of the hearts was before that).
The audio was good, too. I'm pretty sure I've heard the music several times before, but that didn't really bother me.
I liked the ending, even if it was a little abrupt and lackluster. Getting to join the other stars was satisfying.
One aspect I had a big problem with, though, was the vertical scrolling. The star got way too close to the top of the screen when going up, and way too close to the bottom of the screen when going down. Left too little room to react to hazards, and made it impossible to move the star slow enough to compensate for it (since there wasn't enough room to make a weak gravity pull).
Otherwise it was a very good game!
Thank you for your detailed comment, I will change the camera as soon as the rating is over, a build is already waiting for the upload. The music I have downloaded at opengameart.org (cc0), sadly music is not my strength.
hola hola !! great game !! the game design and the graphics both are more than epic !! perfect ^^ i really like the game idea and concept :))
btw i rated ur game can u do the same pls ?? and thx !! ^^

Thank you!
Great music and the mechanics. All the best and Good luck! Do check out our game we need the feedback! - https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-3/rate/574293
Gosh darn I love this game! Great music and the mechanics were fleshed out. The lives system kinda sucks tho, it's pretty demotivating to be sent all the way back to the start. The camera was also a bit finicky at times, it never really looked far enough ahead. The black hole was normally stationary against the world, and if you hold the black hole in one spot, the star would approach that spot. If the camera is moving though, the black hole remains stationary against the star, resulting in a constant distance between the star and black hole that causes the star to accelerate uncontrollably (hopefully that makes sense).
But otherwise the game was really good, and if there wasn't the whole lives system, I'd absolutely complete the game (I lack the skill and motivation to do it atm). Really good game, I hope you can get a few more ratings before the jam finishes (you deserve it!)
Thank you for your great comment on the game, you are right, the camera could have been better, an update is already waiting to the jam end for uploading. Did you not use the Checkpoints? These where the white rings, before every section, perhaps I should introduce them at the first section a bit better. Thanks again for your great comment, only by players you get what's still not perfect on the game. 👍
I found the checkpoints, but could never get more than five checkpoints in, cos I’d run out of lives.
Nice game! Gravity works well. I enjoyed playing it!
Liked your game very much :) The mechanics are great! Nice work :D
Thank you!
Great gameplay mechanic. Though personally I'd prefer if the camera followed the star faster, so it's easier to see what's ahead of you.
Thank's for playing. I have recognized the camera issue too and an update is already waiting for the end of the jam voting phase. :-)
I have tried your game too at the same moment, great graphics, gameplay and sound. My first Idea for this jam has also been a whack a mole type of game, you have made a great game with this concept. Only thing is I missed a reset button, or I did not see it, I restarted the browser every time I clicked on the wrong mole.
Thanks for trying out my game. It does have a reset button, just below the board on the right. Though when playing a 4x4 level it is not visible, it's still there.
Really nice one, the controllers needs some getting used to, but it is fun, the story telling way is very cool too.
Would love you to check out our game and give us a rating :)
