Character's movement is a bit slow and I didn't think it really made sense that when I hit the boss I get knocked back super far and if there are asteroids in the way I take damage from them. Kinda anti intuitive. But other than that, it was pretty good. Really interesting to see a game that's just a boss fight instead of a traditional level

I really like all the art and attacks you've implemented in the boss fight! I do feel like the base speed can be increased as dodging projectiles was a bit too challenging for me. Still, you really made a solid boss battle complete with a bit of story and superb graphics!

the speed of character is so slow too but keep going and don't be disappointed :)
The art and music is great, but everything else is pretty bad. Your character is WAY too slow, the shield takes too long to regenerate, and it's spend after one hit!? Your dash attack does so little damage to the boss it's insane. I legit can't tell if the game is actually beatable. A lot balancing needs to be done, this isn't very entertaining.
Oh yeah, LOL. I suppose it was my fault for not playtesting the game before it was turned in to give feedback about the balance issues, playing it after it was turned in, I brought those issues to light with other ideas to alleviate some issues. The movement was much smoother from videos before I play tested it, but kaga is still learning and doing exceptionally well in the development, so this game serves as a great learning experience for him.
A nice boss fight game. The design of the boss suits the game creepily. However, player control is not good for this kind of game mechanic. The movement should be fast and precise. Just like Cuphead, you would die with even a 1 pixel of mistake. The objects from the boss attack move faster as well. It seems to be an intense and challenging game, but it's in slow motion now.
Loved the design, just wish it had audio! Great idea to make physically colliding with the enemy the damage mechanic!

Nice boss fight game ! But it is really hard !
Ways to improve : Make a first level easier with an quick integrated tutorial, make the controls snappier because the character feels heavy to move, you can add health and bonuses to pick up ...
Those are all great ideas. I mostly support the last one with the health and bonuses to pick up. The character is heavy to make you use the shield more often and the boss is hard so that you can play more time, but you are right about that I should add tutorial level, but due to the time limit of the jam I just replaced it with controls menu to tell you the controls and also to be able to change them! Thanks for your feedback! Did you see the die animation of the boss at the end? It's pretty cool ;)
