In what way does your game fit the theme?
You wake on your day off, just wanting to play a lame game you grabbed coming home. Then, you find yourself in a REAL LIFE REWIND...against your will.
CONTROLS: WASD to move SPACE AND LMB TO FIRE (HOLD SPACE TO RAPID FIRE) RMB for MISSILE) Good luck!!
Did you write most of the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
Nearly all the code is written myself, assets were what I was able to find and use for my idea. Game working room assets are really the only thing I didn't design. I am a poor artist :( Enjoy!

I like what you are trying to do with this game. Especially with the psyche out 3d view to the basic 2d graphics of the actual game. This an the story elements I did see drew me into the game and made me want to see more of it. I agree with the other that is was a little bit too difficult (although it for sure gave the "wtf" vibe) that especially with the long intro every time you die was a bit much.
There were also some bugs I thought I would point out. First for whatever reason the first time I played it the 3d world completely bugged on me. After getting the knock on the door I became suddenly able to completely go through wall and could not interact with the tape. For whatever reason the second I booted it up I did not have that problem, The second thing is that from what I can tell there is no way to exit the game, Both times I played it I had to pull up the task manager to exit the game. Even if I ran the game in windowed mode, since the game froze my mouse I had to use the task manager.
(p.s sorry if you were confused by the first comment I posted. I accidentally posted my comment for another game here. I deleted the comment was I realized, but I thought I would clear it up anyway.)
Thanks for taking the time to play! I appreciate it. Yea, like I said, I had that strange build index code that was not working properly, no matter which way I did it. (this would have restarted the level). The anchor points I just must have looked over. Rushed this with little time, something I may think of making an actual project.
A little confused the whole time. Also kind of hard to get through. Love the idea and the use of the theme.
It was meant to be a "wtf?" feeling, also meant to be difficult. Maybe too difficult for a game jam though.
I appreciate you taking the time to play and rate!
Game was buggy for me, the "Insert Disk" text stayed there a long time and on 3d parts I was inside wall etc.
Insert disk goes away if you move the mouse. That and player anchor point in the 3d world I could've straightened out. Unfortunately I had only a little over a day 😕 wish I could've improved it. I intended the game to be difficult but I'm seeing a lot of people give up and not get to see whats next. Thanks for your time and for playing!
(⌐■_■) >
(Check out my game too, kind of in need of rates :/ )
I really liked this idea! Taking the word "rewind" to mean nostalgia and retro games is a super cool twist that I haven't seen done much. I think my only nitpick is just that I was a little confused when playing since I figured you were just supposed to play through a bunch of different retro games (and you were "just trying to get a high score" like the evil video game said), not beat just one game. I'll admit I wasn't skilled enough to beat it and see the ending, but I think this is a super cool concept and with a little more polishing and content it would make an awesome full-fledged game! :)
Thank you for taking the time to play! It was intended to be difficult, unfortunately I've seen a lot give up and not see the Easter egg. Thank you so much for taking the time to play!
The atmosphere you created here really fits what you're going for, and I like how you blended multiple game aesthetics into the games themselves. However, I ran into a small bug that made the interact text (ex: "Play Game (E)") remain even after pressing it, which covered up some of the computer game visuals. Pressing E when the prompt is still visible also restarts the transition into the computer game. That being said, the bug can be ignored and it times out after a while so that's good. Great job!
Thank you a ton for taking the time to play and rate, I really appreciate it.
Really cool game, but I have to admit it, I'm really scared of horror thematic xD
Please, rate my game too!
Great idea for the theme. The animations make the game look very professional!
Thank you so much for testing and the feedback! I'll be sure to give your game a play here shortly!
Thank You!!
I like the dual 3d/2d design. It reminds me of the Duck Hunt VR if that's what you were going for. I agree with some of the others that the Galaga was too hard, a lot of the bullets were impossible to avoid. Good job on the game
Yea, you gotta really bob and weave. It was meant to be difficult but maybe not for a jam.
I like the cool animations and effects, it really feels like a possessed disk.
I appreciate you giving it a play, thank you!
Jokes on you demon computer disk, I love Galaga. Although I will say galaga where the enemy bullets follow you like that and your shooting is that much slower is WAY harder lol. I really enjoyed your take on the theme and the game gave me some Daniel Mullins vibes. I wasn't able to get past the point where the face appears on the galaga screen it's impossible to dodge those sideways shots and you just die. I also noticed a bug, it seems like you are still able to look around in 3D space while 2D screens where up as I could see the "insert disk" prompt while playing galaga. Overall great job though!
Yea, I missed a couple things with the time I had. Aw, you missed the spoiler that comes after beating the boss!! Just keep dodge, duck, dip, diving and dodge then you got it!! (Boss missiles kill enemies and you can shoot the projectiles from the boss)
Dan Mullins is an inspiration to this...spot on! lmao
He's one of my favorite game developers
aw man alright I'll give it some more tries I'm curious now
Hope you were able to beat it! ALSO space shoots normal bullets RMB can shoot a single shot missle. If you hold space it rapid fires. Wish I had more time, sorry no controls were explained!
I tried so hard I just can't do it. I wish I could just try again immediately but there's a lot of stuff to sit through between failing and trying again
This game was pretty rad! I hope that more people play it!
Really nice game! The graphics are amazing. Nice job!
Really cool game! The design and Art style got me very fast! I really had a bunch of fun playing it! Great game!
Wow! It was a really catchy experience. I hope you continue with this project!
Amazing job!
I really appreciate that, thank you for taking the time to play!
Good game, I really like the idea applied, it's like a game inside a game. The art is pretty cool.
I really liked the concept! Good work on this one.
Game size was pretty big for a jam,But worth it the execution was great.
Yea, I wasn't able to optimize the best as I only had a very small amount of time :/ Thanks so much for playing, I really appreciate it!
Cool concept! I had some issues with the controls in the 3D world. It pushed me outside the walls and the anchor point was all whack, but then it got back somehow. The arcade part is really fun! Some enemies go outside the width of the screen though, probably because I started it in 1024x768. I love the way the enemies line up. Great work!
I love the FMVs, that was really nice! I don't know how you made those, but that was excellent. The game itself was kinda unfair, the enemy bullets didn't shoot straight down like you'd expect in those kind of games, but were shooting diagonally straight towards the player ship. That might've been the point though, as I got evil vibes from the tape. :)
Be sure to check out mu game as well. Cheers!
