This was such a cool idea and was done really well! I love when clicker games have a story and objective rather than just going on endlessly! It felt like a bit of a grind to get to the end, but I think this is probably just because it is meant to be played in one sitting so you cant gather currency in the background like most clickers. Overall This was one of my favorite games of the jam!

Incredible work - I was blown away when I realised I could minimise the desktop windows. Such a small thing but it suddenly made everything feel more real :D

I can't wait to finish the story!

I really like the start of the game and the typing effect and sound. Good job! I like this kind of games, and you did it so well :)

The story was interesting but the clicker genere is a little played off.  Cool concept, but as it is with these types of games, not really engaging. Overall, not bad :)

Not a big fan of clicker games but finished this one since I wanted to see what happens at the end, usually this genre doesn't have one. I think the console window was really well done, so good that made the pixel art out of place, sorry Ricardo :( Background choice was a bit weird since I actually spend a couple of seconds at the start thinking "Do I really have to click my mouse on a child's naked back!?", maybe just the Tachyon placement was off. Nice take on the theme and honestly I didn't expect someone to do a clicker game, good job!

Lol I never thought of it that way! (Clicking on a naked childs back) Thanks for playing! At the very beginning we were going with a straight up Cookie Clicker look and feel so the pixel art was geared more towards that. After sleeping on it we switched gears and went with the "it's all happening in the main characters desktop" approach. Also, the Tachyon was originally on the bottom left side but that made it so that your eyes had to move a lot accross the screen when going from clicking to buying, to looking at your stats, so we moved the Tachyon to the middle. Maybe a different background with a clothed child would have been better lol

Enjoyed it. And subtle way to drop a easter egg through Dr. Marreno(I think).

Do play and rate our game. https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-4/rate/724127

I really liked the game! Great choice on the sounds, I actually thought  that the background sound of the  tachyon harvesting might become irritating but it wasn't. The tachyon harvesting visual is just so awesome, the shader added  with the fitting glow and particle effects was just sheer eye candy. I actually played through 3 times to see if I can press the abort with the least amount of time difference from the goal to see if there was another ending.

Overall great job! :D

The sound stands out to me! Really liked how you used the rewind. The innovation in this one is a mark in the whole jam. Great job.

Thanks a lot for the comment! We wanted to make something different and I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it. <3

This is a really well made game, making a rewind-themed clicker game is super cool and it feels incredibly polished!

Really enjoyed the sound design. Could this be the only tycoon game in this game jam? Wish there would've been more content! A rather fun game.

This was cool, not sure what happened at the end, but I left it running while I did something else, forgot about it, and I came back to this:

Developer

ABORT! ABORT! ABORT! CLICK THE BUTTON!

Submitted

:D Yeah I did that, and saw the ending, but what I was confused by was the infinity values, it doesn't look like they were intended...?

Developer (1 edit)

Correct. Although the Infinity values were not intended per se, we did intentionally make the abort sequence play out indefinitely, so that it's the player who decides to take action and abort the program, and we took the necessary precautions so that the game doesn't crash and players are able to see the final sequence.

So far your game is very unique because its the only tycoon game that i have currently played in this jam. i really hope you add more stuff that we can buy.

Developer

Thank you! When the theme was revealed we knew we wanted to tackle it in some way that not many people would. We were heavily inspired by Cookie Clicker and later on we came up with the setting (game takes place in a computer desktop). I'm glad it came across as unique.

Developer(+1)

Thanks! As my brother said, we wanted to make something different and we decided to go with the tycoon game. Glad you liked it!
