I love the game! the art, the music and the gameplay are great! Good job! (rated)
Great visuals! Really cute character and nice looking background art. I feel like the controls are a little messy and can be changed to be a little more intuitive. The movement can be tweaked a little too for the player to have more control over the character. Overall great effort!
Nice and Hard haha.
Pretty neat game. Love the music tho
I can definitely see the Celeste inspiration while playing this game. Love the art and the music. I think my main issue had to be with the controls, they felt kind of difficult to use.
definitely a challenging platformer, but I like how the controls were smooth and the music was great! Nice job!
Really fun platformer, heavily reminded of Celeste. However, I found the controls to be very hard to use, and it made it super difficult to play the levels. Art is lovely an the dialogue is a nice touch.
The art style and music is very celeste-y, which is honestly a good thing. For your first game, it's always good to copy another game's feel. I like the assist mode. I don't love the controls, but then again, I don't on Celeste either and have to use a controller just because I suck at memorizing stuff and 4 buttons is better than a whole keyboard. Anyway, the only other thing I would say is to perfect the speed and stuff, because it feels a bit unfair. If you haven't already, GMTK has a great video on why Celeste feels so good to play, and it's worth a watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yorTG9at90g
I have seen that video, and when I update the game, the quality-of-life changes are definitely next on the list. There's a lot of time to go into that, though, and I didn't think I could accomplish it in one week. A lot of people didn't like the controls, I'll admit that one's on me. The Brackey for climbing was kinda last minute and I didn't have enough time to update the pixel art when I realized it sucked. However, it would be good to get community input, so what do you think would be better than I/O/P in the right hand?
I suck at controls, both learning and making, but I would ask someone more qualified than me, because it’s so important. It’s definitely tough to figure out an intuitive way to have it.
One thing I would say is to make space or w jump. Those are the first 2 things I try at least.
W is important for flipping, but I will add space to jump. That seems to be a standard.
Right. Yeah, definitely space then.
Great game!Reminds me of celeste and vvvvvvv .My only problem is controls maybe swap jump button to space? Other than that its awosme gj :D
The jumping feels just a bit off-beat. The rest of the game is great! The art aesthetic and sounds are on-point and your use of several mechanics to switch up the game-play is awesome!
amazing game!, i wanna see markiplier beat this
Good work and I had a lot of fun!
Great game! I was curious about what is this game and had a really nice surprise! Congratulations for your work!
Good Game boii pretty fun.
Liked it!
Visuals and Audio are nice, however controls and the hitbox seems unfair
Good Work! though
It's a great game! i can see the inspiration from other games like super meatboy and celeste! the only downside tho are the controls, other than that everything was good. i would appreciate it if you would check my game https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-4/rate/722968
This seems to have been made with a controller in mind, it would really shine that way! Finished the playthrough, didn't feel the theme was very dominant but the game feels quite polished and very playable for such a short time. Controls are very responsive! Congrats!
Questionable controlls, but otherwise its ok :D
