Great art!

WOW, this is a good use of the theme. Really incredible puzzle game!

The rope is frustrating and keeps getting stuck in the wall. That combined with my exhausted pinky finger leaves the game wanting.

I'm embarrassed to say it took me a solid 300 seconds to realize it was the same level. I think that means it was interesting enough to trick me, though!

This was absurdly fun. I love the details like the different hair on the humans and their little screams. Definitely the best game I've seen so far!

At first I thought it was just a Snake clone, but the switch threw me off guard. That's a really cool idea! Nice job.

This demon thing is actually horrifying.

I enjoyed the platforming section, and I thought the AI of the bats was really neat! If having the player stick to the wall wasn't intentional, though, you can attack a PhysicsMaterial2D with friction of 0 to the player to stop that from happening. It took me forever to find that out so I figured that might be useful to you.

That's a brilliant idea for the wing powerup. I knew the mechanic hovered between not fun and genuinely awful, but I didn't know what to do with it and I thought the animation was funny so I kept it in. Your idea is so simple that I'm almost mad I didn't think of it, and it would fix the powerup immediately. Thank you!

I would love to play your game, unfortunately, my computer can not handle .rar files. Sorry to disappoint, but I'm sure your game would be great!

I’ll try yours in a bit.

I will pay my landlord in whatever I want to pay him in.

Those aren't goals, those are checkpoints. The mechanic is that the floor isn't real sometimes, but you aren't looking for "the end of the level." It's just a ball yeet game.

A fun and unique game! The physics were fun to mess around with. I found it difficult to play at times because the camera was very zoomed it - I thought the windmill was some kind of warp in reality because I couldn't see all of it in the frame. That all said, nice job! I would appreciate it if you player my game as well.

This is such a unique game! I thought the camera was a bit difficult to control, which made the game harder, but the concept was so good and executed so well. High marks from me! I would appreciate it if you checked out my game as well.

Absolutely beautiful graphics and great controls. People will flame you on the wall jump but I know those are awful to implement. The background music is noticeably nice. The biggest problem I had was with the level design. Every screen had some kind of blind jump, which is generally a big no-no in platformers. A perfect player should be able to beat any given screen in one try, and without knowledge of the level that is impossible. That all being said, the nuts and bolts of the game are amazing. Nice job! I would appreciate it if you played my game as well.

Fun game! It gets pretty challenging, but the progression is really good. The only complaint I have is that the main menu is a little slow; it would have been nice to make those buttons clickable as well, but I understand why you didn't. Nice work! I would appreciate it if you checked out mine as well.

Not a very complex game, but it was fun to flex my flag knowledge so it gets high marks from me. This could be a fun mobile game.

A cool game with pretty pixel art, but the wall etches were difficult to understand at times. Also, I got softlocked on the third level. Lastly,  the way that the boxes were thrown at the mouse was not very intuitive. I found myself struggling because I am currently on a laptop. I don't know if the feature is required, but if not, it would be nice to just throw in the direction you are facing.

This all sounds like harsh criticism, but it's just nitpicking. It was a fun game to look at and a fun game to play! I would appreciate if you checked out mine as well.

A neat concept that could be improved with more time. I think making the insanity random instead of occurring after left click would be nice, as well as making some kind of health bar. This kind of game would benefit from the "darkness closing in" style health meter, like you see in Pokémon Legends. I think nitpicks like that can be attributed to the ten-hour timer you had, so nice job! I'd appreciate it if you could give my game a try as well.

This is the first game I've played for the jam, but this is it. This is the winner. Amazing graphics, fun gameplay, awesome music - it really has it all. At first I wasn't so sure about how it fit with the theme, but then I died and it all clicked. A fun concept and an even fun game! The adorable pixel art really brings it all together, and I love the checkpoint system. If I had to give any criticism at all, it would be that the controls are a little mushy - I think the turning speed is a little slow for a top down platformer. Admittedly, I played with WASD instead of a controller, which I think would have been much easier. But this game needs almost no more polishing from my perspective. You could put it on Steam and I would buy it. Awesome job, man. My game pales in comparison to yours, but I'd be honored if you could try it out.

burber

I beat the level with $0 remaining, so it said I lost. Maybe that's intended, but if it is, the Game Over screen shouldn't say 40/40 because that makes it look like I won. Other than that, the player would constantly get stuck in the wall thanks to the friction on the GameObject, which made it difficult because the floor is variable thanks to the broken pieces. This would lead to scenarios where I was walking over the wreckage... and suddenly not walking anymore. Nice job making it in a week, but it needs a lot of polishing.

A GameBoy-style endless runner with bombs! Dead Man's Pass by jacjson (itch.io)

I liked the graphics and the movement, and it's impressive the you made it in just a week. However, I think it does need some polishing. I saw three main problems:

1. The UI was massive. In the tutorial it was fine, but once Swap was added, the entire top-right quadrant was covered by UI. You should at least half that, and maybe even cut it down more. Similarly, it is very hard to see buttons on the starting menus. More contrast between the buttons as the background would fix that.

2. The game wasn't well balanced. The player has a projectile while the Exception has a melee weapon, so the best strategy is to run away and shoot behind you, even in insane mode. This led to long, boring battles. Many of these kinds of games give both players projectiles, but I propose a different solution: give the player a melee attack. Maybe even add interaction between the players' attacks, like blocking, and multiple attacks so the player has to choose one to get past the robot's defenses. Then to scale up the difficulty, make the robot react faster or have more accurate blocks, instead of just increasing health.

3. And lastly, for some reason the loading screen exiting the level is the same as the loading screen starting the level. I've never experimented with loading screens so I can't tell you how to fix that, but it doesn't make any sense telling the play what the target is as they head to the main menu.

This looks like a giant block of text, but really the problems are huge, and overall you made a fun game. Nice work! And it would be great if you could check out mine, too.

WOW that's a high high score!

There are a lot of games like this in the jam, but this is definitely the best one I've played so far. Awesome pixel art, great music, and I loved how the game reset when you lose, too. Nice work!

A neat idea, but I had a hard time discerning the front of the car from the back of the car was rotating. It would be nice if you moved the hatch back a little more so the from was distinctly longer. Other than that, it looked and sounded great, and was pretty enjoyable. Good work!

An overall solid game and cool concept, but like others have said, it should be faster. It doesn't feel very chaotic for the first few levels.

The concept is fun, but I found that the crosshair was too big, and that made it hard to aim. Also, the game would crash every time I died, but I think that's a WebGL problem and not a problem with your game. Overall, you did a good at job, but the finer points like UI and controls need to be tuned up to make it great.

Sure I'll check out yours! Mine is a GameBoy-homage platformer: Dead Man's Pass by jacjson (itch.io)

The music is awesome and the gameplay is super fun and chaotic. I really liked the slowing time mechanic, too. I would recommend toning down the glow effects because the game really hurt my eyes after a couple of minutes. (I have oversensitive eyes)

A GameBoy-style platformer Dead Man's Pass by jacjson (itch.io)

Nice concept! You did a lot of art in such a small amount of time, and your visual effects are on point. It could use some background music and polishing of the player animations (as well as the friction of the player on walls, as others have mentioned), but I'd love to see more levels!

I'd really appreciate it if you checked out my game, too. Thanks!

It was fun destroying stuff, but the overall mechanics are a little janky. The biggest things I'd recommend are to make walking be based in the direction that you're facing and to make chaos go up when anything is destroyed. But I had a good time messing with the physics, so nice job making t in a week!

It be great if you could check out my game too. Thanks!
