Excellent Job! I like this game. The graphics, the music and the presentation. Good Luck!

In what way does your game fit the theme?
Having rewind as a theme my game focuses on rewinding songs (cassettes) with a guitar hero style in order to avoid the devil to destroy everything in his way.
Did you write most of the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
I did all of my assets, music, sound effects, graphics, animations and coding from scratch with the exception of the whip sound effect (way too hard for my to record)

Great game! I don't like rhytmen games (cuz I suck at them) but it was fun :)
Wow, a very original game and I'm impressed you created all the assets considering its quality. The music and art were excellent, and the gameplay simple, precise and enjoyable. Excellent work.
Its game was good but tough, even on easy difficulty. Maybe have it more configurable for the controls. I personally prefer qwer since I used to play league of legends or mouse click. Well done keep it up bro.
Very visually pleasing, the devil is very funny, and the gameplay fits really well! I've seen other games involving rewinding tapes, but this one is very original from a gameplay point of view!
Great game, hope you had fun making it!! ^^
I wouldn't think about making a stepmania-like game myself in a jam, so I think it's quite origina. Everything seems well executed, the experience is smooth, although as I'm not that much into rythm games the difficulty was going up quite fast, but it was still manageable so I have no issue with that, just a note to take. The game seems polished and finished (in terms of a jam game ofc), nice smooth menu, cool game over screen, feedback animations from the devil, so that's very very nice, a thing that I always struggle with, so just have to appriciate it even more.
To me in a rythm game the music should carry the game forward, before anything else, and I'm sorry, but to me the music, while the tracks were nice and different from each other, was quite off in terms of hitting the "notes". Maybe it's just me, but I also saw other comments about it feeling a little off. Also as I said, the music should be a stand-out feautre, and here I would say it's just as good as the whole package (which is still very polished and nice, don't get me wrong) but I would say if it's a rythm game I would rather have a grades like that: Music A+, everything else: B, here I would say it's more on a pattern of Music: A, everything else: A (also), but I guess that's just nitpicking.
I have to say I'm impressed by your work in terms of executing the idea all by yourself. Keep it up!
Art was nice, but as a rhythm game, it didn't go on rhythm, or I just have lousy rhythm ear. also, it would've been nice if the song would actually play backwards when rewinding.
I love the art and the overall presentation of the game. However, as a rhytm game, you should give more attention to the gameplay itself. For example, in level 3 the difficulty instantly rises up a lot, because the notes are visible too late. I would handle it so that the notes are always visible a long time before they arrive, but that they just get more and faster over time. Also, maybe a nice positive sound that plays when you hit a note perfectly would be cool, though it's also really hard to hit a note perfectly. Besides that, the notes don't really match the music.
Other than that, as I said, the presentation and art of the game is astonishing, the devil is funny, and the menu you made is very polished. Amazing work there. Well done!
Great game, loved the music, would make an excellent mobile game.
playing other rythm game simliar to this one, it gave me an idea. Why dont you add up/down arrow and w/s to the controls? you could make like an INFERNO difficulty where you have to use both hands with 8 Buttons to play, or maybe even a multiplayer mode. (If you made it mobile, you could place 4 buttons on one side, 4 on the other)
Great Game, Excellent job :D
The art, music, presentation and overall polish of this game is top notch. I really like the humour and the overall premise. I don't play much in the way of rythm games so I don't really have any improvments to suggest that Steventus hasn't made in much more depth already.
This game really deserves to get 20 ratings, I'm happy to give it one more.
The music and stages were great, as well as the art. But the timing was a bit off and isn't in sync with the music.
Great game otherwise!
As an avid rhythm game player myself, as this is pretty much a rhythm game genre, it's very.. mediocore to say the least, let me start with a few positives of the game:
1) Cool music, actually - quite groovy. I'm not kidding. You must have put A LOT of effort into the music (and a lot of the art and pretty much everythigng really), and I actually quite like it. It's not like any full-length song, or anything that will sell records, but for this short length of a jam - it's quite good!
2) Very great art, honestly - everything looks great, you've put lots of creative energy into this and it shows. Only a few games can stand out with this level of fidelity in the art department, and you've done it. The art direction is a bit jenky, but the art assets itself is quite good. I like!!
3) Great UI, including the dialogue, the main menu (CRISP - VERY NICE), the notes during the gameplay, very good!
However, as a game on its own - much to say on the gameplay. I will say I may come from a subjective standpoint, so take my words with a grain of salt. On that note, I am also a rhythm game avid myself so I'd like to offer my 2 cents:
1) Sound design - the notes don't seem to sync well with the music and I feel like I'm mostly just hitting circles at the right time, instead of with the music. I think this has to do with the sound design - you should have a hit sound with when you hit a note at the right time (like a closed hi-hat to start off). Think of games that do this, Osu!, Cytus, Phigros, literally any rhythm games. This gives player feedback when they hit notes and basically tells them, "Hey, nice perfect hit!".
2) Needs a song select - I think this is basically additional feature territory and you might not have the time during the jam to implement this. You could have a song selection to select which songs to play.
3) Very weird control scheme - A,D and < and > keys is a bit jarring to get used to. Especially if they're both on the right side of the screen. To help with the weirdness, maybe you can seperate A,D keys to the left side of the screen and < and > keys to the right side of the screen so they are just like the keyboard.
4) Beatmaps/Level Design in general - I have mentioned this earlier that it feels like the notes don't seem the sync with the music. Especially in normal to hard levels. This is more on the level design perspective - I think you need to find a good rhythm first to place notes on to make a good level. Like a note for each drum kick for one part, then focus on the melody.
5) Weird hit detection, sometimes when I want to hit a note, and missed a notes previously - it instead hits the note behind the note I intend to hit. This creates a lot of inconsistency and I can lose a long string of combo as a result. The note hit detection as a result feels weird and I find myself trying to hit notes earlier than usual - doesn't feel right.
6) Lack of a combo counter - this is what I feel a staple of any rhythm game, to have combos and rack up higher scores when you have higher combos. Rhythms games are perhaps the easiest games for a player to enter the zone (can be argued), and this can be exemplified with a combo meter to tell the player just how smashing they are at the game. It shouldn't have been too hard of a mechanic to implement but I'm a bit sad that it's not in there.
Sorry if it seemed like I'm bashing on your game a lot - I've always loved Rhythm games so much and music in general and I want to see many more music games rise. With your art, your game does have potential but it's unfortunate that it falls short on perhaps the more important aspects which is the gameplay aspect.
With that said, I think you did tremendously on this game - it's clear you've put in so much effort creating all the assets for this game. You just need to work on the pure gameplay element.
Wow thanks so much for putting this much efford on your feedback i really really aprettiate it, thanks.
About the insync notes you are rigth. I developed a recording system so it was me hitting the keys while listeng to the song, so i may have failed due to fatigue jeje in an up coming update i will fixed that :)
The game do have a song selector it is Just that i have placed it only when you have cleared the game, so if you have winned in easy you will unlocked the song selector in the pause menu for that difficulty, same for medium and hard. ;) It was kind of an easter egg jeje
About the keys i tried many ways to placed it and i find this one rigth in order to have an average level of difficulty but you are rigth. It may not fit everyone so, in an up coming update i will design a key customizer system, so anyone can use the keys they found rigth :D
Everything else, you are rigth, time was not enough to add all those things like combo counter and stuff, but i really would like to take this game to it's full potential, i Will keep working on it and i hope your feedback when that's done :D Thanks so much for taking the time for my game i aprettiate it.
