In what way does your game fit the theme?
When I heard the theme was rewind, I figured everyone would just implement some rewind button into their game and I wanted to be different. My game features a dungeon that is in "rewind mode" where you start on the final boss and have to work your way back to the entrance.

Did you write most of the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
I did everything myself and I made the assets from scratch specifically for this game.

This is a really interesting concept, I didn't make it back to the start, but I enjoyed what I played :)

Reminded me of some old Flash games. That big  bullet was scary! I was avoiding all the little ones and was like "WHAT?"

Fun.

Could you please play and rate my game as well?

very interesting concept, i love that it plays backwards and that chests remove your powerups. The gameplay is definitely workable into a full game

Cool game I like the boss in the beginning. If you have time to check out my game: https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-4/rate/722968

Really good idea, especially the rewind dungeon, except for the laser eyes... way too OP...

Haha fair enough, thanks for playing!

The controls and mechanics are rough, but good game nonetheless!

Enjoyable!

The "guided bullets" become unavoidable once you lose the boots, making the game hard in the sense of punishing you for playing. You should be careful with that, since making a game punishing is not really enjoyable, while making the game challenging but fair makes it the style of Dark Souls and similar games.
Maybe rebalancing the enemies with some "Enemy powerups" being taken away could help with this. (For example: Chest has 50% to be allied powerup or enemy powerup).

Also, the laser feels a bit weird in the sense that you can choose the length of the beam.

Other than that the game fits the theme perfectly.

I totally understand, several people have complained about the shoes and the eye ball shooters being over powered. I would have done more balancing but I started to run out of time. Thanks for playing though! I appreciate all the feedback and I'd love to find some way to also reward the player rather than just punishing them.

I like the idea of being powerful in the beginning and having it taken away!

Also those blue enemies looked really cool :D

Developer

Thank you haha, it was a cool concept to play around with. The blue guys are my favorite :)

Good design. Quite interesting take to start with the boss. I was sad to give boots away though, i would argue that slowing down player is something games need to careful about

Developer

That's fair haha, perhaps I made them slow the player too much. There is path to the end where you do not have to give up the boots  though

Nice game! I really liked the variety through out the dungeon. Throwing you into a boss fight right off the bat was interesting, pretty tough though. Anyways, great job on the game!

I had a lot of fun playing this! I really like the variety and designs of the enemies, and its cool to just be dropped into a boss fight hahah. Its painful, but a fun challenge to have your precious items stripped away from you. The pink guys were a little OP and it would have been nice to have tab bring you to a bigger map, I got lost a few times. Overall awesome job!

Developer

Thanks for playing! It was fun to play around with the concept of taking items away. Perhaps the use of a more zoomed out minimap on tab would have been very helpful, I never thought of that! However, I didn't want to just give away the path, one is supposed to get a little lost in a dungeon haha

Nice, good boss ha! I would like a tutorial to better understand what is happening here. But mechanics and movement are solid! Great!

Here is mine is you want to check it https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-4/rate/724798

Developer

Thanks for playing! I did my best to explain what was happening from the old man dialogue, but I do realize that I toss the player right into the final boss fight. Perhaps if I had more time I would have implemented some more instructions in the beginning. I will gladly check out your game!

This eye reminded me a lot of the magic eye in Zelda: Ocarina Of Time.

I missed a tutorial, because I don't know if there is any other gameplay besides shooting and moving.
Congratulations for the effort!
