In what way does your game fit the theme?
Your missions is to REWIND time by getting to the Black Holes. Your goal is to go back 4 years and close the first Block Hole. If you can do this, the Earth will be saved.
(Also, I used some VHS rewind SFX/Music.)

Did you write most of the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
Some basic code I used from previous games/tutorials (audio manager/UI etc.) 50% or more brand new code. All sprite art was made during the week. (I didn't have much time in Unity, but was able to make a lot of pixel art at work)

Pretty good, game ! I enjoyed the theme and the gameplay was well-made!

Developer

Thanks a bunch!

Even though the game is very easy and short, I really enjoyed the whole game! There are also some spelling issues, but i'll let that slide. Anyway great game!

Developer

Thanks for playing until the end!  Hmmm as an English Teacher I should definitely fix those hahaha.

Visuals are great. Liked the fact that you can hold down the Shoot Button. Audio and Music was really nice too. The only thing is the Shootsound it got really repetitive. Nice to see what the participants of the last game jams do. :D

Developer

Thanks!! and thanks for the feedback, I should have made the random pitch code with a bit more range~ glad to see you again too :D

I really like the visuals, and the storyline behind the game :)

Jitter-clicking was a bit draining though, and on the 4th level I let the enemies pass through, lol. Got a score of 16,600.

Developer

Thanks for playing! I think that's the best score so far :D

Nice game and good story.
I think if bullet hit enemy or hit player display more visual fx it will be great sometime i dont know when i get hit.

Developer

Thanks!  Yeah I should add some more hit feedback for sure~

Cool aesthetics and very solid game for the jam. It even has a boss with stages! I would have left the shooting to be automatic since there is no penalization for spawning it. Nice job!

Developer

Thanks for playing :D

I like how the theme becomes a narrative, visual changes of the city are great. It was fun to beat the game and stop the invasion, nicely done. Art and sound are terrific. Maybe the difficulty is a little bit too low and could be revamped.

Developer

Thanks for playing and commenting!  Yeah I agree the difficulty should be tweaked for sure.  My wife is my only play-tester so I think all my jam games become too easy (cuz she always says it's too hard haha)

Overall, pretty good stuff! :)
It's an interesting take on the theme, having it based on narrative.
For a bullet side scrolling shoot-em-up it was good and I really liked the use of unity's particle system on enemy deaths.
I would have liked a little more visual feedback for landing a hit on the enemy, or getting hit yourself. But that's something to keep in mind for the future I suppose :P

Developer

Thanks a but for playing and the great comment!  The thought rewinding the story would be easiest thing for my skill level XD  I will pump up the feed back for sure!  I actually tried screen shake, but it was making my scrolling BGs look a bit wacky haha Thanks again!

Hey I actually remember you from the GMTK Game Jam! I gotta say, the game was pretty nice. The feedback you get from shooting the enemies is great since you not only added sound effects but also particle effects! You did a wonderful job!

Developer

Oh nice to see you again! I was a bit burnt out from GMTK jam but I still joined haha.  One of the reason I wanted to do an easy game to code and just enjoy doing some sprite art XD Thanks for playing!  I will check out your game soon~~

A nice classical shooter, just like mine :D The movements of the final boss were really unexpected! Concerning the other enemies, I would make less of them but make them move more, since right now the easiest tactics is to simply avoid them :) Also HP indicators for enemies would help. Great job!

Thanks a bunch for playing and the feedback!  I gotta learn how to do enemy life bars for sure, thanks for the suggestion! I liked your game too!

Submitted(+1)

The visuals for this game are super cool and I really like the color palette. Sometimes I wished the enemies would have some sort of health indicator to see how many shots it would take to blow them up, but it was quite fun still!

Developer

Thanks for playing~ I'll add enemy health bars to my study list, great suggestion :D

Nice game, I like the idea of how the theme was implemented. I finish all 4 levels the first time.. I think it was too easy..  maybe you should make it more difficult..

Good job.

Developer

Thanks for giving it a try!  I try to keep jam game easy so people can get to the end~ since people move onto other game very easily hehe.  I think I should have put a boss on each level though~

I loved the art style of the game. Nice work

Developer(+1)

Thanks for giving it a try :D

Cool game! You should make more incentive to destroy the enemies though than a high score because you can easily pass them on the top or bottom.  Maybe if you destroy enemies you can get permanent ship upgrades so you are better equipped to fight next waves. I really like the art style though! Play and rate my game if you have a chance. I love feedback! Btw I rated your GMTK game jam submission a few weeks ago. It's cool to see that you joined this one too.

Developer

Oh nice to see you again too! I think I actually had more time to work on the GMTK than this one haha (crazy busy week) Those are some great ideas~  I'll check out your game soon for sure!!

I beat the queen and stopped the invasion! The only thing I can say is I do wish the rewind theme was more implemented in the gameplay and not just the "story".

Developer

You beat it awesome~ thanks for playing until the end!  Yeah I knew I didn't have time to try learning some new code, so I just kept it super simple for this jam XD

Lovely game! Very fun, good visuals and sfx, great job!

Developer

Glad you enjoy it! Thanks for playing :D

Fun game, I really like the anime character design and the sound effects for the shooting. Great work!

Developer

Thanks a bunch :D

Nice little game, feels really smooth. Love the "PEW PEW PEW" sounds :)
Also the ghost enemy reminds me of ghasts from Minecraft :) Good job!

Developer

Thanks! Oh yeah they are very similar to those :D

Submitted(+1)

Really cool game, how did you make it in a week!

Developer

Thanks!! I had some time at work to do lots of pixel art, and endless side scrolling code is pretty easy to find hehe.
