This is such a cool and unique idea, I had a lot of fun playing! :D Surprisingly it didn't take too long to get used to the controls, although I was spamming the Z and X quite a lot then realised I could just keep rewinding X to spam my bullets haha. Great job :D

This is a really fun set of mechanics. The disc rewinding adds a whole new element to the simple space shooter gameplay. I did find a way to "cheese" the shooting, by finding the point at which the player shoots and just mashing the rewind button to repeatedly shoot very fast. Overall awesome job!

Interesting idea and a good implementation of the theme. I liked it and had fun. Nice work on particles and effects! Well done!

The controls are a bit complicated but I got used to it fast, Nice game!

I can't understand that resolution: it's a bit annoying to scroll up and down with the mouse to play the game. Even though that's a serious issue, the game is good, the idea is nice and the gameplay is enjoyable. You should also limit the spam of missils, since you can currently easely destroy an eventual boss. Loved the theme, nice job in general

Sorry about that! It's not a real solution, but you can always zoom out. When building it for web, I was debating on how large to make the iFrame and went with ~500x1000 so that the discs could be dragged with the mouse and just hoped people would have a large enough screen. I see now that was the wrong decision. I'm happy you found some enjoyment despite that issue.

Star-DJ doing Star-DJ things.

Nice Idea. Had fun to play.

This is one of the most unique ideas I've seen! This would work great for a mobile game and it looks like it is supposed to be one, from the screen dimensions. One thing I'll mention is that I'm not completely sure how the third disc helps because I was just spamming the shooting one and the bosses died pretty quickly.

Super cool idea, and the game is just generally polished. Nice job!

A very entertaining game! This is the most unique take I've seen on the rewind theme. It had a lot of game juice as well, which made it satisfying to play. The best strategy for me was to have my mouse on the shoot disc so I could spam it, then to always press z until I need to dodge something. It was very challenging at first but it was fun to learn the mechanics and get better.

The problems I had with the game were the charging enemies that came up right to the player's face as it was very hard to hit them and they gave you very little room to maneuver. I also found myself never using the boss move disc, as I could just one shot bosses by spamming my shooting disc.

Despite this, the game is very polished and I coulnd't find a single bug. Well done on making all the art assets and sounds as well.

Thanks! Once I discovered my "debugging technique" (spamming shoot with the mouse like you did), I didn't really touch the boss disc either. I'll be sure to take that and the annoying charging enemies into account for future games.

Great game! It really is one of the most creative takes on the theme i've seen so far!

Great job! This is one of the most innovative takes on the theme I've seen. There's a lot of games with cassettes and records and stuff, but having it control the movement, shooting and boss is genius. I like the controls, and it is laid out on the screen in a way that makes sense if you know the controls, which are on the start page and in the description. I couldn't think of better keyboard controls. One thing that might be fun to play around with that might work is having the mouse control them so you have to move between the records, to make it more frantic, not that it really needs to be. I genuinely can't think of anything to criticize you on. Great job!

Developer

Thank you! I actually originally had the rewinding was done with mouse, but it was awkward so I added the keyboard controls. Actually, the mouse-drag controls are still in there, and it definitely makes things more frantic!

Oh, okay! I'll try it out.

I like your take on the rewind mechanic! I had a fun time dodging the bullets.

Wow this game was surprisingly fun to play, because of the amount of focus I had to have on the game shouldve made the game just annoying, but srsly this game was fun. Very unique and simple game game design, i like it.

This game is great! I love your innovation on the game mechanic, which makes for a kind of chaotic, but still under control situation! I dont have anything constructive to say, maybe change up the music per level. All in all really fun!
